Shipping company from Dammam to Libya: which port do we choose?
A Dammam customer faces a question a Jeddah customer does not: ship from my own city’s port, or move my container to Jeddah? King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam is close to your home, but it is on the Arabian Gulf, and a ship leaving it for the Mediterranean sails around the whole Arabian Peninsula: out of the Gulf into the Arabian Sea, through the Gulf of Aden and up the Red Sea to Suez. From Jeddah the ship is already on the Red Sea, so its voyage to Libya is much shorter.
That is why, in most cases, we prefer to truck the container from Dammam to Jeddah, a trip of about two days, and ship from there. Direct shipping from Dammam remains a good option in some cases: when its sailing schedule suits your date, or when commercial goods are large and stored in the Eastern Province and the trader wants to cut road transport. Before booking we show you both options with time and cost, and you choose.
We do not offer a land route to Libya. Sea is for furniture, cars and goods, and air for parcels and urgent items.

What affects the price and how to save
The cost item specific to Dammam is the port choice: trucking to Jeddah adds cost, while direct shipping from Dammam saves it but lengthens the voyage. After that come volume, container type, the Libyan arrival port and extra services. The cheapest way for a few belongings is shared freight by the kilo over 100 kg or by the cubic metre. Sort your home before packing, dismantle what you can, and book early before the end of the school year.

Furniture moving from Dammam to Libya
The Eastern Province is hot and humid in summer, and the furniture faces either a long road leg or a long voyage, so sealed packing is essential. Bedrooms are dismantled with screws numbered, mattresses go in sealed covers, and majlis seating and sofas are wrapped in blankets and plastic. Fitted and IKEA kitchens are taken down unit by unit and numbered, their boards wrapped in plastic against humidity, and marble travels in a wooden frame. Appliances are emptied and dried, the washer drum is locked, and a technician removes ACs after recovering the refrigerant. Antiques go into wooden crates, and office furniture is dismantled and numbered by room. Insurance can be added for valuable items on request.

Sea freight from Dammam to Libya
Whether your container leaves from Dammam or Jeddah, it crosses the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean and heads to a Libyan port: Tripoli for the capital, Zawiya and the west; Misrata, a free zone, for Misrata, Al Khums, Zliten and the road south to Sabha; and Benghazi for eastern Libya. From Jeddah the voyage takes about 15–22 days port to port; from Dammam it is longer.
Your own container or shared?
A 20 ft container from SAR 5,600 suits a two- or three-bedroom apartment, and a 40 ft from SAR 7,500 a villa or a home plus a car. Shared freight by the cubic metre from SAR 420 or by the kilo over 100 kg from SAR 5.5 suits small volumes, usually consolidated in Jeddah where shared containers to the Mediterranean run regularly.
Port to door or port to port?
With door delivery our agent handles clearance in Libya and we deliver to your address with assembly on request. With port to port, the consignee collects the container through their own local clearance agent in Tripoli, Misrata or Benghazi; we advise agreeing with the agent before the ship arrives and giving them the bill of lading and contents list to avoid storage charges.
Libyan cities we deliver to from the Eastern Province
We deliver to Tripoli, Benghazi, Misrata, Zawiya and Al Khums, to Sabha in the south via Tripoli or Misrata with inland trucking included in the quote, and to other cities on request.

Students at Eastern Province universities ship their belongings by shared kilo, and families send gifts and Al Ahsa dates in boxes from SAR 140.
