Furniture Movers in Makkah | Dismantling, Packing, Dabab for Narrow Lanes & Winch Lifting
Muasasat Al Saif handles furniture moving in Makkah across every district, from Al Aziziyah, Al Naseem and Al Awali to Al Zahir, Al Sharaye and Wali Al Ahd, including the older hillside neighbourhoods such as Jarwal, Al Misfalah and Al Ma’abdah where stairs are narrow and streets climb steeply. The job covers dismantling, packing, loading, transport and reassembly, with a dabab, wanet, dyna or winch chosen to suit your home and your street. Moving a single room starts from SAR 370, a two- or three-bedroom apartment from SAR 740, and a villa from SAR 1,400, rising with volume, floor level and distance. Send photos of your rooms through the quote request page and you will have a price before you commit to anything.
🕋 What we ask before booking a Makkah move
- The street: can the dyna reach your building door, or does it have to park on the main road?
- Floor and lift: many older blocks have no lift, so we decide between carrying and a winch in advance.
- The season: during peak pilgrim periods trucks are restricted near the central area, so timing matters.
- Prices from: SAR 370 per room, SAR 740 per apartment, SAR 1,400 per villa, SAR 140 per wanet trip.
Furniture movers in Makkah who know the terrain
Makkah was not laid out on flat ground. Homes sit on mountain slopes and inside narrow valleys, and some neighbourhoods were built long before anyone needed a street wide enough for a truck. In Jarwal, Rei Dhakhir and Al Hindawiyah your building may stand at the end of a sloping lane that only a small vehicle can enter. Newer districts like Al Sharaye, Wali Al Ahd and Al Awali have wide roads and lifts in most buildings, but they are far apart, and crossing the city at rush hour takes time.
That is why one flat price for everyone does not work here. A family on the fourth floor of an old walk-up needs a different plan from a family in a modern block with a large lift in Al Naseem, even if both have three bedrooms. We ask about these details at the start so we send the right crew and the right vehicle, not to inflate the price.

Getting furniture out of hillside lanes
Where the dyna cannot reach the door, we park it on the nearest road that fits and run a small dabab between your door and the truck. It is a little slower than loading directly, but it saves your furniture from being carried a long way down a slope, which is where most scratches and breakages happen. On tight staircases we measure the entrance and the turns before trying to bring a sofa or wardrobe down in one piece. If you live on a sloping lane, send us a photo of the street itself, not just the rooms. It saves half an hour of confusion on the day.
Packing materials and method

Makkah heat affects packing more than people expect. Stretch film wrapped straight onto glossy wood and left in the sun can mark the finish, so we lay a fabric blanket or paper first and the film over it. Mirrors and glass get bubble wrap and cardboard corners, and the box is marked “glass” with an arrow showing which way is up. Screws from each piece go into a numbered bag taped to that piece. Most families pack their own clothes and kitchenware and leave the furniture and appliances to the crew, though we can pack everything if you ask.
Winch lifting and upper floors without a lift

Plenty of Makkah buildings have four or five floors and no lift, or a lift that holds two people. A winch, starting from SAR 370, lifts furniture out through a balcony or window and lowers it straight to the ground, often replacing two extra workers and hours on the stairs. It needs space in front of the building, an opening that can be cleared, and no overhead cables in the way. In narrow lanes it simply cannot get in, so we carry by hand and take large items apart. Inside the truck the heaviest pieces go low and near the cab, mattresses and sofas next, light boxes on the upper layer, all strapped with blankets between items.
Dismantling and reassembly

A carpenter comes with the crew on most jobs. Sliding-door wardrobes have their doors removed first so the tracks do not bend; particle-board units are taken apart in as few steps as possible because they do not tolerate repeated assembly. In the new home we start with the bedrooms the family will sleep in that night. Wall-fixed wooden kitchens need the new wall measured before dismantling, as a shorter wall may mean rearranging units. Split AC units need a technician to recover the gas and seal the pipes. We can also mount TVs and curtains once you have marked where they go.
Seasons and timing
Makkah has seasons other cities do not. At peak pilgrim times some roads to the central area close and trucks are limited to certain hours. If you live near the Haram or on routes to the holy sites, move before or after the busy period, or let us work late at night or very early. End of month, the weeks before school starts and long holidays are busy everywhere, so book early. Summer middays are brutal for both crews and furniture, so we start at dawn. During Ramadan most families prefer us to work after Asr or after Taraweeh.
Included and extra
Included: dismantling and reassembling standard bedrooms and wardrobes, blanket and film wrapping, carrying and loading at both homes, the agreed vehicle within Makkah, and placing items in the rooms you choose. Extra: winch, kitchen work, AC units, VIP packing and boxing, TV and curtain mounting, storage, and cleaning.
A worked example: Al Zahir to Wali Al Ahd
A family in a third-floor walk-up in Al Zahir is moving to a second-floor apartment with a lift in Wali Al Ahd. They have a master bedroom with a six-door wardrobe, two children’s rooms, a majlis, an aluminium kitchen, three split ACs, a fridge and a washing machine. We sent one closed dyna, four movers, a carpenter and an AC technician. No winch was needed because the staircase was wide enough once the wardrobe was dismantled. Around three hours went on dismantling, packing and loading, half an hour on the road outside rush hour, and two to three hours on unloading and assembly. The apartment starts from SAR 740, with the kitchen from SAR 370 and each AC from SAR 140. The family slept in fully assembled bedrooms that same night.
Before moving day
- Empty wardrobes and drawers, or tell us in advance if you want us to pack them.
- Switch off and dry the fridge at least a day before.
- Drain and disconnect the washing machine.
- Book the lift with the new building’s caretaker.
- Check where the vehicle can park at both addresses.
- Label each room in the new home so the crew knows where things go.
- Keep a bag for the first night with clothes, medicine and chargers in your own car.
Do not put these in the moving truck: gold, jewellery and cash; passports, IDs and contracts; daily or refrigerated medicine; gas cylinders; fuel and strong chemicals; and computers or drives holding personal files.
The suspiciously low offer
A very low figure in an ad often turns out to exclude dismantling, or comes with a driver but no crew, or adds the winch at the end of the day. Before comparing numbers, ask whether the price covers dismantling, assembly and packing, how many workers and whether a carpenter comes, whether the truck is closed, what counts as extra, and what happens if something breaks. A clearly itemised price that looks a bit higher usually costs less by evening than a low one that keeps growing.
Storage, cleaning and common mistakes
If your new home is not ready, we store the furniture wrapped in a closed warehouse and deliver when you are. We can also arrange optional cleaning of the old home before handover, or the new one before the furniture goes in. The mistakes we see most: booking at the last minute in peak season, sending room photos without the street and stairs, leaving the fridge running until morning, not measuring the new doors and lift, and putting every screw into one bag.
How the job runs
- You send both districts, floor levels and photos through the quote page.
- We reply with an itemised price, the vehicle and crew size, and visit if needed.
- We agree a day and hour that suit the season and the street.
- The carpenter dismantles while the crew wraps.
- Loading by stairs, lift or winch, with the load strapped.
- Transport to the new home by the most practical route.
- Unloading and assembly, bedrooms first.
- A walk-through with you to check doors, drawers and wardrobes before we leave.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to move a three-bedroom apartment within Makkah?
From SAR 740 for a two- or three-bedroom apartment, including dismantling, standard packing, loading and reassembly. Floor level, lift access and appliances raise it.
My building is on a lane the dyna cannot enter. What happens?
We park the dyna on the nearest road that fits and shuttle your furniture with a small dabab, so nothing is carried far down a slope.
Can you move near the Haram during peak seasons?
Yes, but trucks are restricted to certain hours near the central area, so we work within those windows. Moving before or after the busy period is easier.
When is a winch needed?
When the apartment is on a high floor with no lift or a very small one, and there is space outside plus a balcony or window to use. It starts from SAR 370.
Is the kitchen included in the apartment price?
No. Kitchen dismantling and installation is a separate item from SAR 370, because it takes a technician and may need rearranging in the new space.
How long does a typical apartment move take?
Usually one working day: about three hours to dismantle and load, the drive, then two to three hours to unload and assemble. Walk-ups take longer.
Dabab or wanet: which do I need?
A dabab is smaller and gets into tight lanes, suited to one room or shuttling to the dyna. A wanet suits a single appliance or a few items and starts from SAR 140.
Do you move split air conditioners?
Yes. A technician recovers the gas and seals the pipes before removal, then reinstalls the unit. From SAR 140 per unit.
What time of day is right for a summer move in Makkah?
Early morning. Midday heat exhausts the crew and can affect some woods and leathers, so we aim to finish loading before it peaks.
Can you store my furniture if the new home is not ready?
Yes, wrapped in a closed warehouse until the date you set. Storage is priced separately by volume and duration.
How do I get a final price?
Send both districts, floor levels and photos of the rooms, street and stairs via the quote page. We reply with an itemised price and inspect free if needed.
