Furniture Moving in Obhur, Jeddah | Villas, Chalets and Compounds with Sea-Air Packing and Winch
Muasasat Al Saif handles furniture moving in Obhur, Jeddah, on both sides of the creek, Obhur North and Obhur South, and in the nearby northern districts of Al Lulu, Al Yaqoot, Al Sawari, Al Shiraa and Al Zumurrud, as well as Al Samer, Al Hamdaniyah and Al Fayhaa in the north-east. We move villas, duplexes, chalets and apartments in gated compounds, with packing that stands up to salty sea air, winch lifting for upper floors and bulky pieces, and full reassembly at the new home. A room starts from SAR 185, an apartment from SAR 465 and a villa from SAR 1,120, rising with volume, distance and floor. Send photos via our quote request page or book a free survey.
Before we move a home by the sea
- Salt air: outdoor furniture screws and AC outdoor units corrode, so we bring the right tools.
- Compound gates: we send crew names and the truck plate to security in advance.
- The creek: Obhur South to Obhur North means driving around the head of the creek.
- New plots: we check access before choosing the truck size.
- From: room 185, apartment 465, villa SAR 1,120, winch SAR 280.
What’s different about furniture moving in Obhur, Jeddah
North Jeddah homes are larger. Almost every villa has garden seating, gym equipment, chandeliers in a double-height hall and big wall mirrors. None of that behaves like ordinary apartment furniture, so we plan before arriving: how does the chandelier come down, and will the wardrobe make it round a spiral staircase or go out by winch from the balcony?
The sea changes packing too. Humidity in Obhur runs higher than in the eastern districts and the air carries salt, so metal garden tables and iron chairs are often rusted at the joints. We take those apart carefully, because a corroded screw forced out can snap inside the frame. And, as residents know, the creek splits the area in two: a move from the south bank to the north bank looks short on a map but loops around the creek head, and we budget that time.
North Jeddah districts we cover
| Area | Districts | Housing | What we prepare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Obhur North | Obhur North, Al Lulu, Al Yaqoot, Al Sawari, Al Shiraa, Al Zumurrud | Villas, duplexes, chalets, gated compounds, new plots | Winch, salt-resistant packing, security coordination |
| Obhur South | Obhur South and its seafront | Older and newer villas, flats near the Corniche | Lift booking, humidity protection |
| Near north | Al Muhammadiyah, Al Naeem, Al Shati, Al Basateen, Al Zahra, Al Nahdah | Modern buildings, towers, villas | Service-lift booking and permits |
| North-east | Al Samer, Al Hamdaniyah, Al Fayhaa, Al Salhiyah, Al Manar | Family homes on separate floors with roof annexes | Dyna or truck by volume, carpenter for annexes |
In Al Samer, Al Hamdaniyah and Al Fayhaa the challenge is rarely the sea; it’s a narrow stair to the first floor or a roof annex reached by an outside steel staircase. We plan crew numbers around that and sometimes winch annex furniture down. We also move chalet and rest-house furniture along the creek, checking mattresses and sofas for damp before loading so mould doesn’t travel with them.

Packing against sea air

Near the shore, we first wipe metal and glass surfaces, because a thin salt film draws moisture inside the wrapping. Wood goes in cotton blankets held by stretch film, while sofas and mattresses get breathable cloth covers rather than plastic that traps vapour.
- Garden furniture: metal parts dismantled, rusty screws bagged separately, with a suggestion to replace them.
- Gym equipment: heavy parts removed and secured.
- Chandeliers: crystals taken off and wrapped one by one in divided cartons.
- Large mirrors: double card, carried upright.
- Electronics: left a few hours after setup before switching on, to clear condensation.
Winch work, villas and compounds

Villas with spiral stairs or glass balustrades make big wardrobes hard to bring down, so we winch them from the upper balcony, and do the same for sofas wider than the hall door. Winch work starts from SAR 280. Gated compounds need entry approval for the truck and crew and some set loading hours; send us the compound name and villa number and we’ll pass the details to security the day before. Some new plots in Obhur North and Al Shiraa still have unfinished or sandy streets, so we may send a mid-size dyna twice rather than a heavy truck that could sink.
Choosing a vehicle
A room or small chalet: dabab or small dyna. An apartment in Al Muhammadiyah, Al Naeem or Al Shati: large dyna. A villa in Obhur or Al Hamdaniyah: closed truck plus a support dyna. A single gym machine or garden set: wanet. A plot with a sandy road: mid-size dyna in two runs.
Villa dismantling and reassembly

Villa bedrooms often mean king beds with upholstered headboards, mirrored or sliding wardrobes and full walk-in closets. Our carpenter photographs and numbers every panel and bag of screws. Walk-in closets built to one villa rarely fit another unchanged, and we’ll say so before dismantling. U- or L-shaped kitchens need the new kitchen’s measurements; dismantle and install starts from SAR 370, with alterations priced separately. Seaside AC outdoor units may have seized screws, so we take our time; each unit starts from SAR 140.
Example: Al Hamdaniyah to Obhur North
A family on a four-bedroom separate floor in Al Hamdaniyah moved to a two-storey villa in Obhur North: four bedrooms, a men’s majlis, a living room, an eight-seat dining table, five ACs to move, a treadmill and an iron garden set. A carpenter, an AC technician and five workers with a closed truck and dyna started at 6:30 a.m., finished loading before 11 and drove about forty minutes via Haramain Road and King Abdulaziz Road. Two wardrobes went up by winch because of the spiral stair, and assembly was done after Asr. The four-bedroom home was priced after the survey, plus winch from SAR 280 and five ACs from SAR 700, and the final figure the family received beforehand did not change.
Checklist for north Jeddah homes
- Tell compound security the date and request truck access.
- Gather garden furniture near the gate.
- Empty walk-in closets; bag hanging clothes.
- Switch off and dry fridges and freezers the night before.
- Tell us how many chandeliers you have.
- Keep jewellery, deeds, passports and medicines with you; no full gas cylinders or generator fuel in the truck.
Timing, offers, storage and cleaning
Obhur summers are hot and humid, so heavy lifting is done before midday. On holidays the roads to the Corniche and chalets get busy, and we avoid peak hours. Watch for offers that price a villa like a large apartment and then add chandeliers, ACs and garden sets on the day; ask for those items by name in the quote. If the new villa is still being finished, we store furniture under breathable covers and deliver when it’s ready, and we can arrange cleaning of either home as an optional extra.
From north Jeddah to other cities
We also move from Obhur and the north to Makkah, Madinah, Taif, Yanbu, Riyadh and beyond in closed trucks: a small load to Makkah starts from SAR 560, to Madinah from SAR 930, and Rabigh or King Abdullah Economic City moves are quoted once we know the load. Request yours on our quote request page.
