Furniture Moving in Abu Arish | Dust-Proof Packing, Assembly & Moves to Jazan and Al Aridhah
Abu Arish is further from the sea than Jazan, so the humidity is a little lighter, but summer heat and dust hit harder. That changes how a move should be run: packing has to keep out dust and sun first, and loading has to be done before the heat peaks. For furniture moving in Abu Arish, Al Saif dismantles, packs and loads your furniture into a closed truck and reassembles it at the new home, within Abu Arish in King Fahd, Al Salam, Al Nuzha, Al Mahdaj and other districts, or out to Jazan, Sabya and Al Aridhah. A room starts from SAR 230, a two-to-three-room apartment from SAR 420 and a villa from SAR 840, rising with volume, floor and distance. Start on the quote request page and send photos of your rooms.
📌 Before you move in Abu Arish
- Wednesday: the old popular market day; traders arrive the night before, so we avoid that area on Wednesday mornings.
- Heat and dust: we start after dawn and seal sofas and mattresses in covers.
- Distance: about 35 km to Jazan and around 30 km to Sabya.
- From: 230 per room, 420 per apartment, 840 per villa, 45 by dabab, 185 for the winch, 110 per AC.
How much does furniture moving in Abu Arish cost?
It depends on three things: how much furniture you have, which floor it is on, and which services you want in addition to the basic move.
| Home size | From | When it rises |
|---|---|---|
| Single room | SAR 230 | Large wardrobe or high floor |
| Two-room apartment | SAR 420 | With ACs or the winch |
| Three-room apartment | SAR 560 | With kitchen and a big majlis |
| Four rooms or more | From SAR 560, set after survey | When two trips are needed |
| Villa | SAR 840 | Extra floors and annexes |
Vehicles and separate services
| Item | From |
|---|---|
| Dyna trip | SAR 230 |
| Wanet | SAR 140 |
| Dabab | SAR 45 |
| Winch | SAR 185 |
| Carpenter, per room | SAR 140 |
| Kitchen dismantle and reinstall | SAR 370 |
| AC, per unit | SAR 110 |
| VIP packing | SAR 140 |
The price also moves with access. The old lanes around the historic Al Abbasa and Al Qubab mosques are tight for a large truck, three-storey walk-ups take longer, heavy classic bedroom sets take more carpentry time, and almost every room here has its own AC, each priced separately. Month end and the days before holidays fill up fast.
Districts and centres we cover
| Area | Districts | Typical housing |
|---|---|---|
| Newer districts | King Fahd, Al Salam, Al Wurud, Al Nuzha | Owner-occupied apartments and villas, modern furniture, large kitchens |
| Established districts | Al Rawdah, Al Khalidiyah, Al Nahdah, Al Naseem | Apartment blocks and family houses, some walk-ups |
| Outer districts | Al Mahdaj, Al Sadiliyah, Qamirah | Family homes and villas with yards, easy truck parking |
| Centres | Wadi Jazan and Wadi Maqab centres and their villages | Rural homes; we check the road after rain |
In the old heart of Abu Arish, near the historic mosques and the market, we check the street before moving day and sometimes use a wanet to shuttle items from the lane to a dyna parked on the main road.
Packing against heat and dust

Dust in Abu Arish gets in through any gap and settles into sofa fabric and mattresses. Mattresses go into bags sealed at both ends. Sofas get a moving blanket and then a cover, with legs wrapped separately. Wood is wrapped in paper or cloth before bubble wrap so it neither rubs nor traps heat against its surface. Chandeliers are taken down and each crystal wrapped on its own, screens travel between two boards of rigid cardboard, and kitchenware is wrapped piece by piece in small, heavy cartons. We also try to keep furniture in the truck for as short a time as possible, so we do not load in the morning and unload in the afternoon unless the distance demands it.
Dismantling and reassembly, kitchens and ACs

Wardrobes come apart doors first, then drawers, shelves and sides, each panel numbered on the inside with its screw bag taped to it. Beds break down into headboard, slats and legs, and bunk beds are handled gently because the wood is lighter. Glass dining tops travel separately on edge. Kitchens come out after water and gas are shut, with photos first, and go back in according to the new space; if a piece is missing we tell you before starting. Kitchen work starts from SAR 370. ACs are a priority in Abu Arish: gas is recovered before removal and bedroom units are refitted first, from SAR 110 per unit. Curtains and TVs can be mounted on the same visit.
Moving into new owner-occupied apartments
Many customers in King Fahd, Al Salam and Al Wurud are moving from older rented flats into apartments they have bought. These buildings need some planning. Lifts can be tiny, fitting two people and a couple of boxes, so we decide in advance what goes in the lift and what goes up by winch. We agree a time with the building caretaker that will not disturb the residents and protect entrance walls and lift doors with cardboard. Kitchens in new flats are often designed to set measurements, so the carpenter measures the new space before moving day where possible and you know whether your old kitchen will fit or only some of its units.
Winch work and loading

Walk-ups in Al Rawdah, Al Khalidiyah and Al Naseem and narrow lifts in new buildings mean the large sofa, the double fridge and the classic wardrobe come down by winch, from SAR 185. We measure stairs and windows at the survey and skip the winch whenever we can. Heavy items go low near the cab, panels stand along the sides, cartons in the middle and light items last, each row strapped. The Abu Arish–Jazan road has speed bumps and roundabouts, and an unstrapped load will shift and rub.
Choosing the right vehicle
A dabab (from SAR 45) suits a washer, a fridge, a single piece or market purchases. A wanet (from SAR 140) suits a student’s or worker’s room, appliances or a showroom pickup. A closed dyna (from SAR 230) is for one room and up and any wood or fabric furniture. Villas, large houses and moves out of the region need two trips or a larger truck, priced after survey.
Example: an apartment in Al Naseem to a villa in Al Nuzha
An employee and his family live in a three-room, second-floor walk-up in Al Naseem and have bought a villa in Al Nuzha. They have a heavy classic bedroom set, two children’s rooms, a sofa majlis, a glass dining table, four split ACs and a wooden kitchen to refit. The crew is a supervisor, two carpenters, four labourers and an AC technician, with a closed dyna and a second run for cartons, plus the winch for the sofa and classic wardrobe. Loading ends before noon and assembly runs from late afternoon into the evening. The cost starts from about SAR 1,555: the apartment from 560, winch from 185, kitchen from 370 and four ACs from 440.
Included, extra, and timing
Included: standard dismantling and assembly of beds and wardrobes, basic packing, cartons, loading, unloading, strapping and placing furniture. Extra on request: kitchen, ACs, winch, VIP packing, curtains and TV, storage and cleaning. In summer we start at first light and split large jobs over two days; winter is mild and easy. We avoid the market area on Wednesdays, month end and pre-holiday weeks are busy, Ramadan work runs in the morning or after taraweeh, and in the rains we keep an eye on the valleys around the Wadi Jazan and Wadi Maqab centres and never load under rain.
Preparation and the half-price trap
- Book a week ahead and sort out what you are leaving behind two days before.
- Empty and unplug the fridge the day before.
- Keep gold, cash, deeds, passports and medicines with you; no gas cylinders, fuel, pesticides or paint in the truck.
- Check power, water and keys at the new home and measure doors for big pieces.
A quote at half the price can mean an open truck in the Abu Arish sun, no carpenter, assembly left to you or extra charges after loading. Ask exactly what is included, whether the truck is closed and who covers breakage. To save properly, reduce what you move, pack clothes and books yourself and choose mid-month.
Storage, cleaning and common mistakes
If the new home is not ready, we store furniture wrapped in a closed, ventilated space priced by volume and time, and can arrange cleaning of either house. Mistakes we see: loading in the morning and leaving furniture in the truck until afternoon in summer, moving a new sofa in an open pickup, booking a Wednesday morning beside the market, not measuring the lift of a new apartment and removing ACs without gas recovery.
Abu Arish to Jazan, Al Aridhah and other cities
Abu Arish to Jazan is a one-day job of about 35 km, delivering to Al Rawdah, Al Shati, Al Suways, Al Matar and other districts. We also run to Sabya, Ahad Al Masarihah, Samtah and east to Al Aridhah, where mountain roads sometimes call for smaller vehicles. For other cities, Jeddah to Jazan starts from SAR 1,020 for a small load and SAR 1,680 for an apartment, Riyadh from SAR 1,850, and we cover the reverse direction too.
Sending urgent items by air
Documents, devices and a few cartons you need before the furniture arrives can go as domestic air cargo from King Abdullah Airport in Jazan to the nearest airport in one to two days, charged on actual or volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 6000), whichever is greater. Furniture travels by road.

Frequently asked questions
Why avoid the market area on Wednesday mornings?
Abu Arish's popular market runs on Wednesday and traders arrive the night before, so the area is crowded and truck parking is hard. We pick another day or an afternoon slot.
How do you keep dust off the furniture?
Mattresses go in sealed bags, sofas in a blanket plus cover, wood in paper then bubble wrap, and we keep furniture in the truck for as short a time as possible.
What does a three-room apartment with four ACs cost?
The apartment starts from SAR 560 and ACs from SAR 110 each, so from 440 for four; kitchen and winch are added if needed.
Are lifts in new owner-occupied buildings big enough for sofas?
Some are very small, so the survey decides what goes in the lift and what needs the winch from SAR 185. We also protect entrance walls and lift doors.
Do you measure the new kitchen before the move?
Where possible, yes, so you know in advance whether your old kitchen fits fully or only partly.
Can the truck reach the old lanes near Al Abbasa Mosque?
Some lanes are narrow, so we check the street and may shuttle items by wanet to a dyna parked on the main road.
Do you move from Abu Arish to Al Aridhah?
Yes, sometimes using smaller vehicles on the mountain stretches; this is set when we price the job.
When is the right time to move in summer?
At first light after dawn, with loading finished before noon. Large jobs are split over two days.
Do you serve the villages of the Wadi Jazan and Wadi Maqab centres?
Yes. We check the road and valley conditions after rain before fixing the date.
What does the basic price include?
Standard bed and wardrobe dismantling and assembly, basic packing, cartons, loading, unloading and placing furniture. Kitchen, ACs and winch are extras.
Can my documents and devices go ahead by air?
Yes, from Jazan airport to your nearest airport in one to two days, charged on actual or volumetric weight. Furniture goes by road.
