Furniture Moving in Jazan | Humidity-Safe Packing, Dismantling & Closed Trucks
Moving house in Jazan is mostly a fight against humidity. Wood swells, fabric picks up a damp smell, and salt air gets into hinges and appliance backs. At Al Saif we dismantle your furniture, pack it in layers that keep moisture out, carry it in a closed truck and reassemble it in your new home, whether that is in Al Shati, Al Rawdah, Al Suways, Al Matar or any other district of the city. Furniture moving in Jazan starts from SAR 230 for a single room, SAR 420 for a two-to-three-room apartment and SAR 840 for a villa, rising with volume, floor level and distance. Send photos of your rooms or book a free survey through our quote request page.
🌊 What matters before moving day in Jazan
- Timing: we load right after dawn or late afternoon and avoid the summer midday hours.
- Packing: bubble wrap, then a moving blanket, then tape. Damp wood is never wrapped straight in plastic.
- Vehicles: closed truck for furniture, pickup (wanet) for small runs, dabab for one or two items.
- Coverage: every district of the city, plus Sabya, Abu Arish, Samtah, Baish, Al Aridhah and the rest of the region.
- From: SAR 230 per room, 420 per apartment, 840 per villa, 45 by dabab, 185 for the winch.
What our furniture movers in Jazan actually do
We handle the whole job, from the first panel that comes off to the last screw tightened in the new place. The crew arrives with a carpenter, labourers and packing materials. The supervisor walks through the house first and decides what gets dismantled, what travels as it is, and what needs extra protection: mirrors, glass tops, TVs. Then the work splits up. The carpenter takes the bedrooms and wardrobes, the labourers take the boxes and the kitchen, and an AC technician comes along if you want split units moved.
Every box gets a number and the name of the room it is going to, and you get an inventory sheet. On arrival you know where the kitchen things and the children’s toys are without opening twenty cartons.

What pushes the price up or down
- Floor and lift: a fourth floor with no lift in an older Al Suways building is a very different job from a ground-floor villa in Al Rawdah.
- Furniture size, not room count: a bedroom with a six-door wardrobe takes longer than two children’s rooms.
- Kitchen: fitted wooden or aluminium kitchens need careful removal and often small adjustments in the new house.
- Air conditioners: each split unit is priced separately because it needs a technician and gas recovery.
- Access: a narrow lane the truck cannot enter means longer hand-carrying.
- Timing: the end of the month and the days before long holidays are busy; booking early gets you a comfortable slot.

Packing for Jazan’s humidity

A lot of crews wrap sofas and wood straight in clear plastic and leave it in a hot truck for hours. In Jazan that traps condensation, the fabric starts to smell and the edges of chipboard swell. We do it differently. Pieces are wiped and checked for dryness first. Wood gets a breathable paper or cloth layer before bubble wrap. Fabric sofas get a moving blanket and a cover left open underneath so they can breathe. Glass and mirrors go into reinforced cartons with foam corners. Plates travel upright, each one wrapped. Electronics go back in their original boxes if you kept them, or into double-walled cartons.
For an imported bedroom set, antiques or anything you would hate to see scratched, the VIP packing option adds extra layers and custom cartons from SAR 140.
Dismantling bedrooms, wardrobes and kitchens
Wardrobes come apart from the upper panels down: doors, drawers, shelves, then side panels. Each panel is numbered on the inside and its screws go into a labelled bag taped to it, so reassembly never stalls over a missing bolt. Beds break down into headboard, legs and slats, and mattresses go into covers. Glass dining tops travel separately, standing on edge.
For kitchens we shut off the water, disconnect the sink and mixer, then the oven and gas, then the upper and lower cabinets, photographing everything before we start. If the new kitchen space is a different size, the carpenter adjusts what can be adjusted and tells you before starting if a new piece is needed. In Jazan we always suggest refitting bedroom ACs on the first day so the family can sleep in comfort.
Winch work and upper floors with no lift

Many buildings in the older districts are three or four floors with a narrow, turning staircase and no lift. A big sofa, a double-door fridge or a wardrobe that cannot be dismantled will not get down those stairs. The winch is fixed at a window or balcony and lowers each piece wrapped and strapped. It starts from SAR 185, and we only recommend it after measuring the stairs and window during the survey.
Inside the truck, heavy items go low and close to the cab, dismantled wardrobe panels stand along the sides, boxes come next and light items last. Each row is strapped before the next one starts, and the doors are closed quickly to keep the heat out.
Dabab, wanet, dyna or a larger truck?
A dabab suits one or two items: a small fridge, a washing machine, a single sofa. A wanet suits a student, a single employee or a showroom pickup. A closed dyna is the right choice for a room up to a full apartment, and a larger truck or second dyna is for villas and moves out of the region. We recommend a closed vehicle for any wooden or fabric furniture even over a short distance, because Jazan sun or a sudden rain shower can ruin a new sofa in an open truck.
What is included and what is extra
Included in a house move: dismantling and reassembly of standard beds and wardrobes, standard packing, cartons for kitchenware and clothes, loading, unloading, strapping, and placing furniture where you want it. Extra on request: kitchen work, AC units, the winch, VIP packing, curtain and TV mounting, storage and cleaning. We go through this list with you before moving day.
A real example: Al Suways to North Al Rawdah
A family of five lives in a three-room apartment on the third floor of an older Al Suways building with no lift and is moving to a ground-floor home in North Al Rawdah. They have a master bedroom with a large wardrobe, two children’s rooms, a floor majlis, a living-room sofa set, fridge, washer, oven, three split ACs and a wooden kitchen. The crew is a supervisor, a carpenter, four labourers and an AC technician, with one closed dyna plus a short second run for boxes. The winch is needed for the sofa, fridge and wardrobe. Work starts shortly after dawn, loading finishes before noon, and assembly runs from late afternoon to sunset. The cost starts from about SAR 1,445: three rooms from 560, winch from 185, kitchen from 370 and three ACs from 330. Skip the kitchen work and it drops accordingly.
Delivery and setup in your new home

Before the first piece comes off the truck, the supervisor walks the new house with you and marks each room. We set up bedrooms and ACs first, then the kitchen, then the living room and majlis, and boxes last. Wardrobes are anchored to the wall if you have small children, doors are checked for rubbing and drawers for smooth running.
Checklist, items to keep with you and timing
- Book at least a week ahead, more at month end.
- Give away what you will not use; whatever stays behind costs nothing to move.
- Empty and unplug the fridge the day before and leave the door open to dry.
- Keep gold, cash, passports, deeds, daily medicines and work laptops with you, not in the truck.
- Gas cylinders, fuel, pesticides and paint do not travel in the closed truck.
- Check power, water and keys at the new home and measure doors for large sofas.
Summer in Jazan is long, so we start very early and split big jobs over two mornings. Winter is the easy season. During Ramadan we work early in the morning or after taraweeh, and in the rainy season we never load furniture under rain.
Avoiding the too-good-to-be-true offer
A half-price quote from an unknown number usually means an open truck, no carpenter, no packing, or a bigger bill once your furniture is already loaded. Ask whether dismantling and assembly are included, whether the truck is closed, who pays if something breaks, and whether ACs and the kitchen are in the price. To pay less the right way, declutter, pack clothes and books yourself, pick a mid-month date and get a proper survey.
Storage, cleaning and common mistakes
If your new place is not ready, we store furniture wrapped in a closed, ventilated space, which matters in Jazan because a sealed hot warehouse damages wood. We can also arrange cleaning of the new home before furniture arrives, or of the old one before you hand it back. The mistakes we see most: booking at the last minute, leaving sofas in plastic for days, removing ACs without gas recovery, not measuring doors and lifts, and throwing all the screws in one bag.
Moving to other towns and cities
Sabya to Jazan and back is one of our most common runs, along with Abu Arish, Baish, Samtah, Al Aridhah, Ad Darb, Ahad Al Masarihah and Al Shuqaiq. These are one-day jobs priced on the regional rates plus distance. We also move between Jazan and Jeddah, Makkah, Riyadh, Abha and other cities: Jeddah to Jazan from SAR 1,020 for a small load and SAR 1,680 for a two-to-three-room apartment, Riyadh to Jazan from SAR 1,850 and SAR 2,950, and the reverse direction too.
Sending urgent items by air
If you fly ahead of your furniture and need documents, devices or a few cartons straight away, we send them as domestic air cargo from King Abdullah Airport in Jazan to the nearest airport in one to two days, charged on actual or volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 6000), whichever is greater. The furniture itself goes by road.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to move a three-room apartment within Jazan?
From SAR 560 including dismantling, standard packing, loading and reassembly. Kitchen, AC and winch work are added if needed, and the final price follows a survey.
Why do you pack differently for Jazan?
Humidity is high, so plastic wrapped straight onto wood or fabric traps moisture. We add a paper or cloth layer first so chipboard does not swell and sofas do not pick up a damp smell.
Will I need a winch in the older Al Suways buildings?
Often yes for large pieces when the stairs are narrow and there is no lift. The winch starts from SAR 185 and we confirm it after measuring the stairs and window.
What time of day do you move in summer?
Right after dawn or late afternoon, never in the midday heat. Large jobs are split over two mornings so furniture does not sit in the sun.
Can you move me from Sabya to Jazan in one day?
Yes. It is about 36 km, so dismantling, loading, the drive and reassembly all fit in one day, priced on regional rates plus distance.
How much is split AC removal and reinstallation?
From SAR 110 per unit, with the gas recovered before removal.
Is a dabab enough for a fridge and a washer?
Yes, a dabab handles one or two items from SAR 45. For wooden furniture we recommend a closed dyna.
Is the kitchen included in the house moving price?
No. Kitchen dismantling and reinstalling is a separate service from SAR 370 because it involves water and gas and sometimes resizing.
Can you store my furniture if the new home is not ready?
Yes, wrapped, in a closed and ventilated space. The price depends on volume and duration.
What should not go in the moving truck?
Gold, cash, documents, daily medicines, gas cylinders and flammable liquids. Keep these with you or move them separately.
How do I get a price before moving day?
Send the number of rooms, photos and both districts through the quote page, or book a free survey, and you will get an itemised price.
Can some items go ahead by air?
Yes. Documents, devices and a few cartons can go as domestic air cargo from Jazan airport in one to two days, charged on actual or volumetric weight. Furniture travels by road.
