Furniture Moving in Samtah | Dismantling, Assembly & Closed Trucks for Moves to Jazan and Beyond
Most people who call us from Samtah fall into one of three groups: a teacher or government employee transferred to Jazan or another region, a family moving from a village into one of the newer districts, or a student at the local university college changing accommodation. Our furniture moving in Samtah service handles all three. Al Saif dismantles, packs and loads your furniture into a closed truck, moves it within Samtah or to Jazan, which is roughly 75 km away, and reassembles it in the new home. A room starts from SAR 230, a two-to-three-room apartment from SAR 420 and a villa from SAR 840, rising with volume, floor and distance. Send photos through the quote request page and we will come back with a price.
🌿 Quick guide to moving in Samtah
- Monday: Samtah’s popular market runs in the morning in the north of town near King Fahd Suburb, so nearby jobs are booked for the afternoon.
- To Jazan: about an hour by truck; the whole job fits in one day.
- Coast: the Al Sahi centre sits near the sea with higher humidity, so wood gets an extra packing layer.
- From: 230 per room, 140 by wanet, 45 by dabab, 185 winch, 370 kitchen, 110 per AC.
Where we work in and around Samtah
Samtah is a wide governorate in the south of Jazan region, with the Red Sea to the west, Ahad Al Masarihah to the north, Al Tuwal to the south and Al Harth to the east, and around forty-seven villages. In town, King Fahd Suburb, Al Khadra, Al Zuhur and Al Turaishah have villas, duplexes and apartment blocks, occasionally needing the winch but usually with easy parking. The older centre around the market has tighter entrances and Monday crowds. The Al Qafl centre and Al Sahi on the coast have family homes with courtyards, and Al Sahi is noticeably more humid. In villages such as Al Jardiyah and Al Mukramiyah we ask about the road to the house, especially after rain. Down in the south of the governorate, near Hisn Al Sharif on the edge of Wadi Liyyah, roads are good but some rural houses mean a walk carrying items from the road to the door.

What changes the price: the number of large pieces matters more than the room count, then the floor and lift, then distance, since a move to Jazan or Sabya keeps the truck and crew on the road longer. Kitchen, AC and winch work are added as needed, and month end and the end of the school year, when many teachers transfer, fill up quickly. In villages the carrying distance counts too: if the house is fifty or a hundred metres from the tarmac, every piece is hand-carried that far. That is why we ask for a photo of the approach along with the rooms, so the price you get is the price on the day.
Transferred teachers and employees
These moves usually hang on a start date in a city the customer barely knows, and sometimes the employee travels ahead of the family. We survey or take photos early, lock in the date, and store the furniture for a few days if the new place is not ready. If a relative will receive the furniture at the other end, we coordinate with them directly. For a long move to Jeddah or Riyadh the furniture goes by road, while school papers, devices and urgent cartons can go by air, as explained below.
Student moves and shared housing
Samtah has one of Jazan University’s colleges, and its students live in small flats or shared rooms and move at the start or end of term. A student’s things are usually a single bed and mattress, a desk and chair, a small fridge and a few cartons of books and clothes. That needs a wanet and one or two helpers, not a full truck and crew, from SAR 140. When several students in the same building move in the same week, booking together lets one vehicle cover several addresses in a single run. Students heading home for the long break can also store their things with us instead of moving them back and forth.
Packing for humidity and dust

Samtah is hot and humid in summer, mild in winter, more humid still on the coast at Al Sahi, and dusty on windy days, so plastic alone is not enough. Wood gets paper or cloth, then bubble wrap, then tape. Sofas get a blanket and a breathable cover, mattresses go in sealed bags, glass and mirrors in reinforced cartons with foam corners and stand upright in the truck, plates are wrapped individually and stood on edge, and appliances go in original or double-walled boxes. Every carton carries a number and a room name, and the inventory sheet stays with you. For valuable pieces, VIP packing starts from SAR 140.
Dismantling and reassembly

The carpenter takes wardrobes apart from the upper panels down: doors, drawers, shelves, then sides, numbering panels inside and taping on the screw bag. Beds become headboard, slats and legs, and floor majlis sets are folded and tied. Rural homes often have heavy, locally made wooden beds that cannot be taken apart, so they are wrapped and moved whole. Kitchens come out after water and gas are shut off, photographed first, from SAR 370. AC gas is recovered before removal and bedroom units go back first, from SAR 110 each. At the new home we follow the room layout you set before unloading, assemble, open the cartons you need for the first night and take the packing waste away with us.
Winch, loading and the road

Most Samtah homes are ground floor or two storeys, so the winch is needed less often than in Jazan, but newer blocks and villas with tight stairs still call for it, from SAR 185. The road to Jazan passes through Ahad Al Masarihah and has busy hours, roundabouts and speed bumps, so strapping matters: heavy items low near the cab, panels on the sides, cartons in the middle, light items last, every row strapped. The box is shut quickly after loading to keep the sun out and we only pull over when necessary.
Which vehicle?
A dabab for one or two pieces within Samtah from SAR 45; a wanet for a student or single employee or a Monday-market purchase from SAR 140; a closed dyna for one room and up and any wood or fabric furniture from SAR 230; and two trips or a larger truck for villas, big houses and moves out of the region.
Example: a teacher moving from Al Khadra to Jazan
A teacher lives in a two-room, first-floor flat in Al Khadra and has been transferred to Jazan, where he has rented a third-floor flat with a lift in Al Rawdah. He has a bedroom, a children’s room, a living-room sofa set, a fridge, a washer and two split ACs; the kitchen stays because the new flat has one. One closed dyna, a supervisor, a carpenter, three labourers and an AC technician. Work starts after dawn, loading is done by mid-morning, the drive takes about an hour and assembly is finished before mid-afternoon. The cost starts from SAR 420 for two rooms plus SAR 220 for the two ACs, with the distance to Jazan added; the final price follows the survey.
Included, extra and preparation
The basic price covers standard bed and wardrobe work, basic packing, cartons, loading, unloading, strapping and placing furniture. Kitchen, ACs, winch, VIP packing, curtains and TV, storage and cleaning are added on request.
- Book early, especially for month end or the end of the school year.
- Empty the fridge the day before and leave it open.
- Keep gold, cash, documents, the children’s certificates and medicines with you.
- No gas cylinders, fuel or pesticides in the truck.
- Check power, water and the key at the new home and pack a first-day bag.
Seasons, offers and mistakes
Summer heat builds after mid-morning, so we start at dawn; winter is easy. We avoid the market area on Monday mornings, Ramadan work runs in the morning or after taraweeh, and in the rains we check valleys and village roads and never load under rain. A very low quote can mean an open truck on a long road to Jazan, no carpenter or a price that doubles after loading, so ask about assembly, the vehicle and breakage before agreeing. Common mistakes: leaving the booking until the week you start work, moving to Jazan in an open pickup, not arranging who receives the furniture if you are away, removing ACs without gas recovery and packing documents in the cartons. If your new place is delayed, which happens often with job transfers, we store furniture wrapped in a closed, ventilated space, and we can arrange cleaning of either house.
From Samtah to Jazan and other cities
We move from Samtah to Jazan, Ahad Al Masarihah, Abu Arish, Sabya and the rest of the region on regional rates plus distance, and to Jeddah, Makkah, Riyadh, Abha and Khamis Mushait. Jeddah to Jazan starts from SAR 1,020 for a small load and SAR 1,680 for an apartment, Riyadh from SAR 1,850, with Samtah close to those plus the distance difference, and we run the reverse direction too.
Sending urgent items by air
Documents, devices and a few cartons you need on arrival can fly as domestic air cargo from King Abdullah Airport in Jazan to the nearest airport in one to two days, charged on actual or volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 6000), whichever is greater. Furniture goes by road.
