Furniture Movers in Al Kharj | In-Town Moves, Farms, Rest-Houses & the Riyadh Road

Muasasat Al Saif provides furniture movers in Al Kharj for moves inside the city and around it: from Al Sih, Al Aziziyah, Al Andalus, Al Faisaliyah, Al Zahir and Al Rayyan to Al Hayathem, Al Salamiyah, Al Yamamah and Al Sahba, along the roughly 80 km road between Al Kharj and Riyadh, and out to the farms and rest-houses spread across the governorate. We dismantle bedrooms and kitchens, wrap everything against dust, carry it down by stairs or winch and reassemble it in the new home. A room inside Al Kharj starts from SAR 280, a two- or three-bedroom apartment from SAR 600 and a villa from SAR 840; an apartment between Al Kharj and Riyadh also starts from SAR 600, rising with volume, floor and distance. Send photos through the quote request page.

Al Kharj in three kinds of trip

  • In town: between Al Sih, Al Andalus, Al Faisaliyah, Al Rayyan and Al Zahir, usually half a day.
  • To the centres and farms: Al Hayathem, Al Yamamah, Al Salamiyah, Al Sahba and rest-houses on the edges.
  • Al Kharj ↔ Riyadh: about 80 km, roughly 1–1.5 hours loaded; the whole move fits in one day.
  • From: room SAR 280, apartment SAR 600, villa in town SAR 840, villa to Riyadh SAR 1,120.

How our furniture movers in Al Kharj work

Al Kharj isn’t a Riyadh suburb, and it isn’t far away either. It’s a governorate with its own centre and districts, surrounded by farming towns, and plenty of people live here and work in Riyadh or the other way round. So requests come in three kinds: a family moving within the city, a family moving between Al Kharj and Riyadh for work or study, and a farm or rest-house owner moving furniture or appliances out to the property. In all three we ask what’s moving, from where to where and on what floor, then ask for photos of rooms, stairs and entrance. For farms we add one question: is the track to the house paved or dirt? A long dirt track changes the vehicle we send and how we pack.

What pushes the price up here: distance to the outlying centres (Al Andalus to Al Hayathem or Al Sahba takes longer than two neighbouring districts), dirt tracks to farms and rest-houses, large homes with wide majlis rooms, walk-up floors in blocks near the university and markets, and kitchens and AC units as separate items.

Around Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University and the Al Kharj industrial city there are many small flats and shared rooms, which means lots of single-room moves: a bed, wardrobe, desk, mini fridge and a few boxes. A pickup with a helper and a carpenter is enough, from SAR 140 for the trip and SAR 140 per room for the carpenter. Workers relocating their families to Al Kharj often arrive from Riyadh or further, and we can take on the hard end of that move: receiving the furniture, carrying it in, assembling it, hanging curtains and connecting appliances.

The road between Al Kharj and Riyadh

Most moves between the two cities use the main Al Kharj road linking south-east Riyadh with Al Kharj, about 80 km. Loaded, it takes roughly an hour to an hour and a half, a little longer entering Riyadh at rush hour. For south-west Riyadh the Al Ha’ir road can be closer, so we pick the route by district.

The short distance means the whole move fits in a day: crew arrives early for dismantling and packing, loading finishes before noon, the truck arrives around midday and unloads, and assembly is done by late afternoon for an apartment, around sunset for a villa. On an open highway wind tugs at anything loose and dust gets into any gap, so the truck box stays closed with items strapped inside, and with a big load we avoid setting off in strong winds.

Moving to farms and rest-houses

Al Kharj is known for agriculture, with palm and vegetable farms and large dairy farms, and rest-houses that families from Al Kharj and Riyadh use at weekends and holidays. Outdoor seating, shades and garden tables need wrapping against rubbing more than breakage. Fridges, freezers, AC units and small generators are common, and generators must be drained of fuel before loading. On dirt tracks we drive slowly, add blankets between items and send a pickup or small dyna if the entrance is tight. Farmhouses are usually single-storey, so no winch, though doors can be narrow for large modern pieces. Send us a map pin and a photo of the last stretch of track before the gate.

Dismantling and assembly

Homes in Al Kharj tend to have spacious majlis rooms with long Arabic floor seating alongside bedrooms and kitchens. Floor seating usually travels without dismantling but gets numbered so it can be laid out the same way in the new majlis. Bedrooms are taken apart in order, doors and mirrors first, then drawers, then the frame, with a bag of screws tied to each piece.

Kitchens are dismantled and refitted from SAR 370, and we ask for the new space’s measurements first. Moving from a Riyadh flat to a bigger Al Kharj villa, your old kitchen may be smaller than the new space; any adaptation is agreed separately, or you may decide to leave it behind.

Packing against dust

Dust is a fact of life here, especially in outlying districts and on roads beside farms. Sofas and mattresses are wrapped before they leave the house, boxes are taped on both sides and crockery goes in divided cartons.

We use bubble wrap for wood and glass, blankets between items, sealed mattress bags and corner guards for TVs and mirrors; extra packing for high-end pieces starts from SAR 140. Most Al Kharj homes are one or two storeys, but blocks near the university and markets have walk-up floors where large pieces go by winch (from SAR 185), given space in front and a wide enough window or balcony.

Choosing the vehicle

A dabab for one room in a narrow street in old Al Sih; a pickup for appliances, a few items and short farm runs; a closed dyna for most apartments in town; a closed truck for villas and the Riyadh road.

Included and extra

Usually included: dismantling and assembling standard beds and wardrobes, basic packing, carrying, the vehicle and removal of packing waste. Extra on request: winch, kitchen, AC units, extra packing, storage, cleaning, and hanging curtains and TVs.

A worked example: a Riyadh flat to an Al Kharj villa

Abu Abdullah lived in a first-floor, three-bedroom flat in Badr in south Riyadh. His job moved to Al Kharj and he rented a villa in Al Andalus. He had two bedrooms, an Arabic majlis, a living room, an aluminium kitchen and two split units. One closed dyna was enough, since the furniture was a flat’s worth even though the new home was a villa, with a carpenter, four movers and an AC technician. Packing started at dawn, the truck left before noon, reached Al Andalus in about an hour and a quarter, and assembly was done by Asr. The apartment from Riyadh to Al Kharj starts from SAR 600, the kitchen from SAR 370 and each AC unit from SAR 115. His old kitchen didn’t fill the villa’s larger kitchen, so the units went on one wall and a carpenter finished the rest later, a decision he made after sending us the measurements in advance rather than on the day.

Checklist

  • Ask for parking space in front of the house.
  • Box clothes and personal items two days ahead.
  • Switch off and dry the fridge the night before.
  • For a farm: send the location and make sure the gate is open on arrival.
  • Drain fuel from generators and farm equipment that is coming along.

Keep out of the truck: gold, cash, official papers, medicines, gas cylinders, fuel and agricultural pesticides.

Seasons, low quotes, storage and cleaning

End of month and the start of school holidays are busy here as in Riyadh, and holidays also bring furniture runs to rest-houses. We start early in summer, work after Asr or Taraweeh in Ramadan and hold off winching on windy, dusty days. Before accepting a low quote, ask whether it includes dismantling and assembly, whether the truck is closed for the Riyadh road and what counts as extra. If you need a gap between homes we store everything wrapped in a covered warehouse, priced by volume and time; cleaning is optional and quoted separately.

Common mistakes

  • Not mentioning that the destination is a farm on a dirt track.
  • Loading a generator or farm machine with fuel still in it.
  • Leaving for Riyadh in the morning rush.
  • Not measuring the kitchen space in the new home.
  • Packing official documents in the boxes.

Steps and moves beyond Al Kharj

  2. Receive an itemised quote.
  3. We confirm the day before and choose the route if Riyadh is involved.

  5. Transport, unloading, assembly and a final walk-through with you.

We also move from Al Kharj to the Eastern Province, Qassim, Jeddah and other cities in closed trucks, dismantling here and assembling on arrival, priced by distance and volume.
