Furniture Movers in Al Khobar | Tower Lift Bookings, Compound Passes & Full Assembly
Moving in Al Khobar usually means one of three things: a Corniche tower that wants the service lift booked, a gated compound where nobody gets past the gate without being on the security list, or an older walk-up in Al Aqrabiyah with no lift and no parking. Al Saif deals with all three every week. We dismantle, pack, load, move and reassemble your furniture in Al Ulaya, Al Aqrabiyah, Ath Thuqbah, Ar Rakah, Al Hizam Adh Dhahabi, North and South Khobar and Al Aziziyah. A room starts from SAR 280, a two- or three-bedroom apartment from SAR 560 and a villa from SAR 1,400. Send a few photos through the quote request page for an itemised price.
🏢 Three questions we ask before any Khobar move
- Tower? We need the service-lift slot and where the truck can stop.
- Compound? We need a gate pass with crew names and the vehicle plate.
- Walk-up? We need photos of the stairs and balcony to decide on a winch.
- Prices from: SAR 280 per room and SAR 175 for a dyna trip within Al Khobar.
Furniture movers in Al Khobar: towers, compounds and walk-ups
Corniche towers
Most seafront towers have a management office that controls furniture going in and out. Some want notice days ahead, some limit loading to certain hours, and many do not allow furniture in the passenger lifts at all. Ask management three things: the service-lift time, how long the slot lasts, and where the truck can park. If the slot is short, we dismantle and wrap everything inside the apartment before it starts, then bring pieces down continuously. Lift walls, floors and corridors are covered with blankets and board before the first item moves.
Gated compounds
Al Khobar and its surroundings have many compounds housing company employees and their families, each with its own security rules. Security usually wants crew names, ID numbers and the truck plate a day or more ahead, and some compounds only allow a dyna, not a large truck. We send you the details to pass on, and if a big truck is not allowed we shuttle with a smaller dyna to a truck waiting outside the gate. Compound villas often have imported or oversized pieces, so packing gets extra attention.
Al Aqrabiyah and Ath Thuqbah walk-ups
Al Aqrabiyah is one of Khobar’s oldest districts, with three- and four-storey buildings above shops and parking that fills up by mid-morning. Ath Thuqbah’s inner streets are tight too. We either start very early or work in the evening after the shops close, and use photos to decide whether the fridge or a big sofa needs the winch.

One cost factor matters more in Al Khobar than elsewhere: the time window. A three-hour lift slot means a bigger crew to finish on time, and a compound that only admits a dyna means more trips. After that come the usual factors: number of rooms, wardrobe type, kitchen, AC units, floor and distance.
Packing for Khobar’s humidity
Being on the coast, Al Khobar gets very humid on summer nights and mornings. Two rules follow: wooden pieces should never sit unwrapped between the building door and the truck, and no carton should be sealed around anything damp. All wrapping happens inside the air-conditioned apartment, we use heavy-duty cartons that hold their shape, and mattresses are bagged before they leave the bedroom.

- Imported and glossy pieces: soft cloth first so film cannot scratch, then bubble wrap, then stretch film.
- Marble tables: the marble slab is separated and carried upright between rigid boards.
- Paintings and large mirrors: boxed to size with corner guards.
- Garden furniture and children’s play sets: washed, dried, and packed apart from indoor items.
Dismantling, assembly and kitchens
Bedroom sets in Al Ulaya and Al Hizam Adh Dhahabi apartments are mostly ready-made and quick to take apart. Older villas may have floor-to-ceiling built-ins, which come down from the ceiling end first with every panel numbered. Kitchens are a separate job: upper cabinets, then lower ones, then the worktop, and the new kitchen is measured before fitting. TV mounting and curtain rails are added on request.

Split ACs are removed by a technician who recovers the gas first. In towers the outdoor unit may sit on a small balcony or the roof, so we need management’s permission to reach it.
Winch and vehicles
In Al Khobar the winch is mostly for the old centre’s walk-ups or a villa with a narrow inner staircase. Towers rarely need one because the service lift does the job. It starts from SAR 185.

- Dabab: a single appliance in a tight Al Aqrabiyah or Ath Thuqbah street.
- Pickup: a bachelor’s room or showroom purchases.
- Dyna: apartments, and compounds that limit vehicle size.
- Closed truck: villas, imported furniture, and hot, humid days.
What is included
Dismantling, standard packing, loading, transport within Al Khobar, carrying into rooms and reassembly are included. The winch, kitchen, ACs, premium packing, storage, cleaning, TV and curtain fitting are extras you choose, all listed in the quote.
Example: Al Aqrabiyah apartment to a compound villa
An employee and his family lived in a two-bedroom flat on the fourth floor of a walk-up in Al Aqrabiyah and moved to a villa in a compound in south Khobar. They had two bedrooms, a large corner sofa, a marble dining table, a fridge, a washer and two split ACs. The compound wanted crew names and the dyna plate two days ahead and did not allow large trucks. The plan: a winch for the sofa and fridge, one closed dyna, four movers, a carpenter and an AC technician. Work started at 7 a.m. before the shop parking filled, and assembly in the villa was done by mid-afternoon. Cost started from SAR 560 for the flat, SAR 185 for the winch and SAR 230 for two ACs: from SAR 975 in total, confirmed after photos.
Short moves to Dammam and Dhahran
A lot of our Khobar work leaves the city. A family in Ath Thuqbah moves to Dammam for the children’s school, or a Dhahran employee gives up a flat in Al Ulaya to live closer to work. The distance is short, but King Fahd Road and Dhahran Road get heavy at rush hour, so we time departure to keep a loaded truck out of traffic in the sun. The same crew dismantles in Al Khobar and reassembles at the other end the same day.
We also do many small jobs: a student changing rooms, or a new employee who bought furniture from Khobar showrooms and needs it delivered and assembled. A pickup or dabab with a carpenter is enough, from SAR 140 for the trip and SAR 140 per room for assembly.
Before the day, timing and offers
- Book the service lift and ask about loading hours.
- Give the compound crew names and the vehicle plate at least a day ahead.
- Defrost and dry the fridge; never pack damp clothes.
- Keep gold, cash, passports, contracts, medicines and laptops with you; no gas cylinders, fuel, pesticides or paint in the truck.
End-of-month dates fill first because leases end then, and summer moves start early or after Asr. School holidays are busy, and in Ramadan we work after Asr and at night. A very low quote that never asks about the tower, compound or floor will likely change on the day; a serious one asks, lists every item, names the vehicle and confirms who assembles. Do not pay the full amount before work begins.
If the villa is not ready when the flat must be handed back, we store furniture wrapped on pallets in a closed warehouse, and cleaning of either home is available as an optional extra. Common mistakes: a lift slot that is too short, compound details sent on the morning itself, a big truck sent to a compound that will not admit it, and nobody measuring the villa door before the corner sofa arrives.
Moving to other cities
Heading to Riyadh, Al Ahsa, Jubail, Qassim or Jeddah? We also move between cities in closed trucks with heavier packing and a strapped load, and bring furniture into Al Khobar from those cities. Request your Al Khobar moving quote with photos to see every item before you book.

Frequently asked questions
How do you handle service-lift bookings in Corniche towers?
Everything is dismantled and wrapped inside the apartment before the slot starts, then brought down continuously, with the lift walls and floor padded.
What does compound security usually need before a move?
Crew names, ID numbers and the vehicle plate a day or more ahead; we send them to you to pass on.
My compound does not allow large trucks. What then?
We load a permitted dyna and transfer to a larger truck outside the gate if the volume needs it.
How much is a dyna trip within Al Khobar?
From SAR 175 per trip; a pickup from SAR 140 and a dabab from SAR 75.
Will I need a winch in Al Aqrabiyah?

Can you assemble new furniture bought from a showroom?
Yes, delivered by pickup or dabab and assembled, with the carpenter from SAR 140 per room.
Who removes AC units in towers?
A technician who recovers the gas first; roof units need management's permission.
What if the villa is not ready before I leave the flat?
We store the furniture wrapped on pallets in a closed warehouse, priced by volume and duration.
