Furniture Movers in Dammam | Humidity-Safe Packing, Winch Lifts & Closed Trucks
Al Saif handles the whole house move inside Dammam: we dismantle beds, wardrobes and kitchen cabinets, wrap every piece against the coastal humidity, load it into a dyna or closed truck, and reassemble it in your new home. We work across the old centre (Al Adamah, Ad Dawasir, Al Qazzaz), the coastal north (Ash Shati), and the newer districts to the west and south such as An Nur, Al Manar, An Nada and Al Faisaliyah, out to King Fahd Suburb. A single room starts from SAR 280, a two- or three-bedroom apartment from SAR 560 and a villa from SAR 1,400, rising with volume, floor and distance. Send photos of your rooms through the quote request page and you will get an itemised price.

How a move with our furniture movers in Dammam works
Most jobs start with a few photos and two district names. From the pictures we can tell how many bedrooms you have, whether the wardrobes are built-in or freestanding, whether there is a kitchen to take down, and how many AC units are coming along. We always ask about the floor and the lift, because a third floor without one can change the whole plan for the day. Then you get a quote broken down by item, so nothing new appears on moving day.
On the day, the supervisor walks through the rooms before anyone touches a screwdriver and decides the order: what gets dismantled first, what is wrapped in place, and what goes into the truck first. Things you will need on the first night, like the children’s beds, mattresses and a basic kitchen box, go in last so they come out first.

What changes the price
- Floor and lift: a walk-up third floor in an older Ad Dawasir building takes more time and hands than the same floor with a lift in Ash Shati.
- Wardrobe type: built-in units fixed to the wall need a careful carpenter.
- Kitchen: taking down cabinets and refitting them to a new layout is its own job.
- Distance: Al Faisaliyah to King Fahd Suburb is a longer run than two neighbouring central districts.
- Parking: a narrow street or a far entrance means more carrying.
- Packing level: standard wrapping suits most homes; premium packing is for glass, antiques and new furniture.

| West and mid-city | Al Faisaliyah, Al Athir, An Nuzhah, Ar Rawdah, Al Muhammadiyah, Taibah, Ash Shulah | Mixed apartments and villas; wider streets |

Why packing is different in Dammam: humidity
Anyone who has driven in Dammam on a humid summer morning knows how fast a cold windscreen fogs up. Furniture does the same thing. Carry a piece out of a cold room into hot, damp air and water beads on it within minutes. Pressed wood soaks it up through exposed edges, plain cardboard goes soft, and a mattress left in the yard pulls moisture in.
So we reverse the usual order. Pieces are stretch-wrapped while still inside the cool room, then padded, and only unwrapped in the new house. Mattresses go into their covers indoors. Screws and hinges are sealed in bags so sea air does not rust them during storage, and clothes and linen in storage get moisture absorbers.

Packing materials, piece by piece
- Wood and wardrobes: moving blankets or bubble wrap held with stretch film, plus corner guards.
- Mirrors and glass tops: rigid board on both sides, marked as glass, carried upright.
- Dishes: divided cartons and paper, heavy items at the bottom.
- Sofas: plastic film against dust and damp, blankets at contact points.
- TVs: the original box if you kept it, otherwise rigid board with foam corners.
Every carton is numbered and labelled with its destination room so the crew can place it without asking you each time.
Dismantling and assembly
Bedrooms come apart in order: drawers and shelves, then doors, then the wardrobe body, then the bed. Each set of screws goes into a labelled bag taped to its own piece. Built-in wardrobes in older Dammam homes are often bracketed to the wall, and the base may have swollen slightly from humidity, so the carpenter tells you before starting if a panel will not survive another round. Kitchens need the new wall measured first; cabinets from an Al Adamah flat rarely fit an An Nur duplex without adjustments.

Split AC units are removed by a technician who pumps the gas back into the outdoor unit first, from SAR 115 per unit. We can also rehang TVs if you have the bracket and refit curtain rails on request; both are priced in the quote.
Winch and walk-up buildings
Central Dammam has plenty of three- and four-storey buildings with tight, turning staircases. A large sofa or a double-door fridge either will not pass or will scrape the wall on the way. A winch set up at the balcony brings it down wrapped and strapped, from SAR 185. Not every home needs one; if large pieces can be dismantled or the stairs are wide, we skip it. Photos of the staircase, the balcony and the street let us decide in advance. In buildings with lifts, we pad the lift walls and floor and agree a time with the building guard.

Choosing the vehicle
- Dabab: one or two items, quick in the narrow streets of the centre.
- Pickup (wanet): a single room or new purchases from a showroom.
- Dyna: the standard choice for a two- or three-bedroom apartment.
- Closed truck: villas, new or delicate furniture, and hot humid days when we want the load out of the sun and dust.
Included and extra
The full service covers dismantling ready-made bedrooms, standard packing, loading, transport within Dammam, carrying pieces into their rooms and reassembly. Kitchens, premium packing, the winch, AC units, storage, cleaning and curtain or TV fitting are added only if you ask, and each appears with its price before moving day.
A worked example: Al Adamah to An Nur
A family of five lived on the third floor of a walk-up in Al Adamah and moved to a duplex in An Nur. They had a master bedroom with a six-door wardrobe, two children’s rooms, a floor majlis, a six-seat dining set, a large fridge, a washing machine, three split ACs and an aluminium kitchen. The fridge and big sofa could not pass the stairs, so the winch was booked for those two only. One closed truck, five movers, a carpenter and an AC technician started just after dawn to beat the central traffic, finished loading before noon and completed assembly around sunset. The cost started from SAR 560 for the apartment, SAR 185 for the winch, SAR 345 for the three ACs and SAR 370 for the kitchen: from SAR 1,460 in total, confirmed after photos.
Before moving day
- Empty and defrost the fridge a day early and leave it open to dry.
- Do not pack damp clothes; in a sealed carton they will mould.
- Photograph the cables behind the TV, router and washer.
- Book the lift with the building guard and tell your neighbours.
- Check that power and water are on at the new place.
- Keep gold, cash, passports, contracts, daily medicines, laptops and hard drives with you. Gas cylinders, fuel, pesticides and open paint never go in the truck.
Timing, offers and common mistakes
Leases mostly end at the end of the month, so those days fill first; mid-month is easier to book. Summer here is hot and humid at once, so we load early and leave the hottest hours for indoor packing. School holidays are busy because families want to settle before term, and in Ramadan we usually work after Asr and into the night.
Be careful with a half-price offer sent in one line. If nobody asks about your floor, lift or wardrobes, extras will appear on the day. A serious quote lists dismantling, packing, winch, kitchen and ACs, names the vehicle type, and confirms who reassembles at the other end. Real savings come from packing small boxes yourself, getting rid of what you will not use, and choosing a mid-month date.
Mistakes we see often: wrapping furniture on a humid balcony at the last minute, not measuring the new door before moving a large sofa, pulling AC pipes without a technician, and booking the move on the very last day of the lease with no margin.
Storage, cleaning and moves to other cities
If your lease ends before the new home is ready, we store furniture wrapped and raised on pallets in a closed warehouse, with moisture absorbers for fabrics, charged by volume and duration. Cleaning of the old or new home is available as an optional extra priced by area. And if you are leaving Dammam altogether, we also move furniture between cities, to Riyadh, Al Ahsa, Jubail, Qassim, Jeddah and elsewhere, with extra layers of packing and the load strapped inside a closed truck.
