⛰️ Planning a move in Khamis Mushait

- From: room SAR 260, apartment SAR 470, villa SAR 1,400, hoist SAR 185, AC unit SAR 115.

Furniture moving prices in Khamis Mushait
The first question we hear is always “what will my home cost?” Size sets the base, and the details decide whether the price stays there. The prices below include the crew, the truck, standard dismantling and assembly of bedrooms, and basic packing within the city.
| Home size | From | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Single room | SAR 260 | Students, single workers, or a room going to the family house |
| 2–3 bedroom apartment | SAR 470 | Typical flats in Al Mousa, Al Dhiyafah and Shamsan |
| 4+ bedrooms or a full floor | After survey | Depends on item count, floor and lift |
| Villa or standalone house | SAR 1,400 | Villas in Al Raqi, Dhahban and the northern plans |
Four-bedroom homes vary too much for a fixed figure. One may hold four full bedrooms, another two bedrooms and two large majlis rooms. We look at photos or visit, then give you one price that stays the same on the day as long as the items match what we saw.

| Furniture hoist | SAR 185 |
| Carpenter, per room | SAR 125 |

What changes the price
- Large pieces: a six-door wardrobe, a master bedroom and a full floor-seating majlis take more time and space than twenty boxes.
- Floor and lift: a third floor with no lift in the older Al Mousa buildings needs more hands or the hoist.
- Distance: Al Rasras to Al Raqi is not the same as a move inside one district, and outer plans such as Tandaha add driving time.
- Kitchen and AC units: each one needs a technician and is priced on its own.
- Season and date: month-end and school breaks fill up quickly, so early booking gets you the morning slot.
Rain, hail and fog: moving in mountain weather
Anyone who lives in Khamis Mushait knows a clear morning is no promise of a dry day. In summer, clouds gather after midday and short, heavy showers, sometimes with hail, can arrive within minutes. So we plan the day around the weather: furniture leaves the house early and most of it is inside the closed truck before the afternoon. Sofas and mattresses are wrapped in heavy plastic sealed with tape before they cross the doorway, so a sudden shower between the door and the truck does not soak the fabric.
Winter brings a different problem. Fog sits on the roads in the early hours, especially on the Khamis–Abha road and in the higher outskirts, and we drive slower or leave a little later when visibility is poor. Cold air also makes glass and some plastics more brittle, so screens and glass table surfaces get an extra layer of bubble wrap. At wet entrances we lay cardboard on the ground so nobody slips under a heavy load and the new floors stay clean.
Districts we cover
| Area | Districts | What loading is like |
|---|---|---|
| Central | Al Mousa, Al Dhiyafah, Al Nour, Al Shifa, Al Harabi | Older buildings and narrow streets near the market; we pick quieter hours |
| North | North Khamis, Al Azhar, Al Yarmouk, Al Wurood, Dhahban | Newer villas and duplexes with large wardrobes and fitted kitchens |
| East and southeast | Al Raqi, Shamsan, Al Mansourah, Tandaha | Apartments and villas; new plans need a shared location pin |
| West and outskirts | Al Rasras, Al Mahalah, Al Ma’arid, Al Masif, Al Ta’awun, west of Wadi Bin Hashbal | Standalone houses and yards, sometimes dirt access after rain |
If your new address is on a plan that maps do not show well, send the location from your phone a day before. It saves half an hour of searching on the morning of the move.
Choosing the right vehicle
- Dabab (from SAR 75): a fridge, a washing machine or a single bed going a short way.
- Wanet pickup (from SAR 140): a student’s things near King Khalid University, a few boxes, or appliances from the showrooms.
- Closed dyna (from SAR 185 per trip): the normal choice for a full apartment, with a box body that keeps out rain and dust.
- Large closed truck: villas, big houses, or moves out of town to Abha, Bisha and beyond.
In this city we recommend a closed body even for short runs. One shower is enough to ruin a mattress.
Packing materials and method

We arrive with boxes in several sizes, stretch film, bubble wrap, moving blankets, corner guards and wide tape. Kitchenware is wrapped piece by piece and stood upright, glasses are stuffed with paper, and clothes either go into wardrobe boxes on hangers or are folded into sealed cartons. Each box is labelled with the room and contents, so the crew at the new house knows where it goes without asking you. Wooden furniture gets a blanket and then stretch film; mirrors and glass get corner guards and bubble wrap and travel upright. In the rainy months we add an outer plastic layer on anything with fabric.
Dismantling and reassembly

Our carpenter takes apart beds and wardrobes and bags the screws and hinges in numbered bags taped to the piece itself, so one lost bolt does not hold up the whole job. Sliding wardrobe doors come off first and are wrapped separately, since they are the part most likely to be damaged if moved assembled. At the new house each room is rebuilt and checked, doors level and bed firm, before we move to the next.
Kitchens in the northern villas are usually made to measure. If the new kitchen has different dimensions, we tell you before dismantling what will fit and what needs adjusting. Kitchen work starts from SAR 125 per unit or SAR 370 for a full kitchen. AC units are removed, their pipes capped, and refitted from SAR 115 each; a longer run at the new house may need extra piping.
Loading, the hoist and upper floors

Where there is no lift, or the staircase is too narrow for a three-seater sofa, the hoist is faster and safer than carrying. We set it from the street to the balcony or window, strap the item and lift or lower it slowly, from SAR 185. We do not run it in strong wind or heavy rain; if the weather turns, we wait. Inside the truck the heavy items go on the floor first, then mattresses and sofas, then light boxes, with blankets between pieces and straps holding everything in place on the bends.
What is included and what is extra
- Included: crew, truck and fuel inside the city; standard bedroom and table dismantling and assembly; basic packing; placing items in their rooms.
- Extra on request: hoist, kitchen, AC units, VIP packing, curtain and TV mounting, storage and cleaning.
Worked example: Al Mousa to Al Raqi
A family in a three-bedroom flat on a third floor with no lift in Al Mousa moved to a ground-floor villa unit in Al Raqi. They had a master bedroom with a six-door wardrobe, two children’s rooms, a floor majlis, a sofa lounge, a kitchen with eight units, three split ACs, a fridge, a washer and about 35 boxes. Five movers, a carpenter and an AC technician worked from 7 a.m.; loading finished before noon and everything was assembled before sunset, with one trip in a large closed dyna and the hoist for the wardrobe and sofas. The price started from SAR 1,370: apartment from SAR 470, hoist from SAR 185, full kitchen from SAR 370 and three ACs from SAR 345. The kitchen and ACs made up nearly half, which is why we always ask for a kitchen photo.
Checklist before moving day
- Empty and unplug the fridge a full day ahead.
- Keep documents, gold and medicines in one bag that stays with you.
- Make sure the new home has power and water.
- Reserve space for the truck outside the building and tell the neighbours.
- Photograph TV and router cables before unplugging.
- Check the forecast and ask for an early start if rain is expected.
What not to put in the truck
Carry these yourself: gold, jewellery and cash; passports, title deeds and certificates; daily medicines; gas cylinders, even nearly empty ones; fuel, pesticides and anything flammable; and hard drives holding family photos.
When to move
Month-end is the busiest time because leases end then, so mid-month is easier if your date is flexible. Summer in Khamis Mushait is mild, but afternoon rain is the real issue, so mornings work well. School breaks get busy as families settle before term, and in Ramadan we work mornings or after Taraweeh.
The “lowest quote” trap
A quote far below the rest usually hides one of three things: no carpenter, so your bed is left in pieces; an open pickup instead of a closed truck in a city where the weather turns in an hour; or extra charges added on the day for the floor or weight. Ask whether dismantling is included, whether the truck is closed, whether the hoist is counted and who pays if something breaks. Get the answers in a message.
Storage and cleaning
If the new home is not ready, because painting or kitchen fitting runs late, we store your furniture wrapped in a closed warehouse and deliver when you ask, priced by volume and time. We can also arrange cleaning of the new or old home as an optional add-on.
Common mistakes
- Leaving packing to the last night.
- Not measuring the new entrance before moving a large sofa or tall wardrobe.
- Filling big boxes with books.
- Forgetting to drain the washing machine.
- Booking an afternoon loading slot on a rainy day.
How the job runs
- You send photos or the address through the quote page.
- We review or survey and send a price with what it covers.
- We fix the date and time and send you the checklist.
- The crew packs, dismantles and labels.
- We load and secure the truck.
- We unload, place each item in its room, and reassemble.
- You walk through with us before we leave.
Moving to Abha and other cities
Our most common run outside the city is to Abha; many families work in one and live in the other, and moves between them start from SAR 420. We also serve Ahad Rufaidah, Sarat Abidah, Bisha and the rest of Asir after a survey. For long distances we use closed trucks: Riyadh to Khamis Mushait (about 900 km) starts from SAR 700 for a room and SAR 1,120 for a mid-size apartment, and Jeddah (about 650 km) from SAR 1,020 for a room. We move in the other direction too.
Sending urgent items by air
If the furniture goes by road but you need a few boxes or documents sooner, we can send them as domestic air cargo from Abha airport to the airport nearest your destination in one to two days. Air cargo is charged on actual or volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 6000), whichever is greater; the furniture itself stays on the road.
To price your move, send photos through the quote request page and we will book a morning slot that suits the Khamis weather.

From SAR 470, covering crew, closed truck, standard dismantling and assembly and basic packing. Hoist, kitchen and AC work are added if needed.
What happens if it rains during loading?
Sofas and mattresses are sealed in plastic before they leave the house, everything goes into a closed truck, and the hoist pauses until the rain eases. That is why we start early.
Do you move between Khamis Mushait and Abha?
Yes, it is one of our most common runs, starting from SAR 420 depending on volume.
How much is the furniture hoist?
From SAR 185 per lift or lowering, used where there is no lift or the stairs are narrow.
Can you take down a fitted kitchen in a northern villa?
Yes, from SAR 125 per unit or SAR 370 for a full kitchen. We tell you beforehand if the new kitchen's dimensions need adjustment.
What does AC removal and reinstallation cost?
From SAR 115 per unit; a longer pipe run at the new home may need extra piping.
Do you reach new plans such as Tandaha?
Yes. Please send a location pin a day before, since some new streets are not well mapped.
Pickup or dyna for a small load?
A pickup starts from SAR 140 for boxes and a few appliances; a closed dyna from SAR 185 protects against rain and is our usual advice here.
Can the price change on the day?
No, as long as the items match the photos or survey.
Do you offer storage?
Yes, wrapped furniture is kept in a closed warehouse and delivered when you are ready, priced by volume and time.
What should I not load in the truck?
Gold, cash, official documents, daily medicines, gas cylinders and flammable liquids should travel with you.
