Furniture Movers in Sabt Al Alaya | Home Moves Across Balqarn and to Jeddah and Riyadh

Al Saif offers furniture moving in Sabt Al Alaya and the surrounding centres of Balqarn, from the town centre and old market and the area around Shaibana Park to homes along the Bisha road, the Abha–Taif road, Al Bashayer and the nearby villages. We dismantle, pack, load into a closed truck and reassemble at your new home, and we also move from Sabt Al Alaya to Jeddah, Riyadh, Bisha, Al Baha and Abha. A room starts from SAR 260, a two- or three-bedroom flat or small house from SAR 340 and a villa or large house from SAR 1,100, rising with volume, floor and distance. Send photos through our quote request page and we will set aside a full day for your move.

🏡 Moving in a small town

  • A day for one home: we usually book the whole day for one move, so nothing is rushed.
  • Standalone houses: large majlis rooms, roofs and storerooms, which we ask about before pricing.
  • Weather: mild summers, spring rain and thick winter morning fog.
  • From: room SAR 260, apartment SAR 340, villa SAR 1,100, dyna SAR 185, dabab SAR 75.
  • Long distance: Jeddah (about 550 km) and Riyadh (about 800 km) by closed truck.

How moving here differs from a big city

Sabt Al Alaya is the seat and market town of Balqarn governorate, yet it remains a place where people know each other, and that shapes how a move works. Most homes are standalone houses of one or two floors, with a large men’s majlis, a roof and a small storeroom that has gathered years of things. Tall apartment blocks are rare, so the challenge is seldom a lift; more often it is an outside staircase to the upper floor or a narrow yard gate.

Much of our work here happens inside families: a son who has built next to his father’s house, newlyweds setting up their first home, or a family leaving a rented place near the market for a house of their own. Another large share is teachers and employees arriving in or leaving the town, which means a closed truck and a long road. Either way, we plan the whole day, because the crew and truck come to town for your job.

Why one house costs more than another

Majlis rooms and the roof. A house with three bedrooms, two big majlis rooms and a roof full of old mattresses and cookware is, in practice, bigger than a four-bedroom city flat. We ask for a photo of every majlis, the roof and the storeroom.

Outside stairs. Some houses reach the upper floor by an open, narrow outdoor staircase, and a large sofa only gets past it with the hoist.

Distance within Balqarn. Moving inside town is not the same as moving to a village tens of kilometres away; that adds driving time and fuel and is priced by distance.

Kitchen and ACs. Each unit is priced on its own and they shift the total more than anything else.

Access and weather. A dirt approach after spring rain can mean a longer carry by hand. We tell you before the day, not after.

Areas we serve in Sabt Al Alaya and Balqarn

Area Homes Moving notes
Town centre and old market Older houses, shops with flats above Narrower streets; we pick quiet hours away from market times
Around Shaibana Park and Al Hameed Family homes and small farms Some side roads unpaved; checked before the day
Southern entrance and industrial area Warehouses, workshops, staff housing Equipment, stores and small offices
Along the Bisha road Newer houses and villas Plenty of room for the truck
Along the Abha–Taif road Houses on both sides of the road Care with through traffic while loading
Al Bashayer, Shawas villages and nearby centres Village houses Priced by distance from town

If your home is in a village off the main road, send the location and tell us about the last stretch: is it paved, is there a steep slope? That decides whether we bring one large truck or two smaller ones.

Choosing a vehicle

A dabab, from SAR 75, handles a fridge, washer or bed going a short way. A pickup, from SAR 140, suits light loads and boxes. A closed dyna, from SAR 185 per trip, is the natural choice for a small house or flat and keeps spring rain and road dust off your things. Large houses and moves to other cities need a big closed truck. We do not recommend an open vehicle for a whole house on the Abha–Taif road; distances between villages are long and the weather can change on the way.

Packing comes first

Homes here are full of hospitality ware: coffee pots, cups, trays and incense burners, often worth more to the family than their price. We wrap each in paper and then bubble wrap and pack them in small cartons marked “majlis – fragile”. Floor cushions and bolsters are rolled, tied and bagged against dust. Wood gets a blanket and stretch film; glass and mirrors get corner guards and travel upright.

We load by room in reverse order of need. If guests are expected in the first days, the majlis is unloaded first; if the children are small, the bedrooms come first. Tell us what you need first and we load it last.

Loading and the hoist

In Sabt Al Alaya the hoist is usually needed for an upper floor reached by outside stairs, or for a room built on the roof. We set it from the ground to the roof edge or balcony and lift or lower each strapped piece, from SAR 185. On foggy winter mornings we wait for visibility before running it. In the truck, heavy items sit on the floor near the front, then sofas and mattresses, then boxes, separated by blankets and strapped tight. This matters on mountain roads with bends, climbs and descents, where an unstrapped load shifts at every turn.

Dismantling and assembly

Our carpenter takes apart bedrooms and wardrobes and bags the fittings by piece, then rebuilds and adjusts doors and drawers at the new house. Newlyweds who bought a bedroom set in Bisha, Abha or Al Baha and only need it assembled can book the carpenter alone from SAR 125 per room. Kitchens are taken down unit by unit and numbered, and we measure the new kitchen first to see what fits as it is; from SAR 125 per unit or SAR 370 for the whole kitchen. AC units are moved from SAR 115 each.

Included and extra

  • Included: crew and truck inside town, standard bedroom work, basic packing and cartons, placing items in their rooms.
  • On request: hoist, kitchen, ACs, VIP packing for valuable majlis ware, trips to distant villages, curtains and TV mounting, storage and cleaning.

Worked example: a teacher’s family, market flat to Bisha road house

A teacher’s family living in a two-bedroom flat above shops near the old market moved to their new house on the Bisha road. They had two bedrooms, a majlis with floor seating, a lounge, a small kitchen, two split ACs, a fridge, a washer and about 25 boxes, six of them hospitality ware. Four movers, a carpenter and an AC technician started at 8 a.m.; loading finished before 11 and assembly in the early afternoon, all in one trip with a closed dyna. The price started from SAR 940: flat SAR 340, full kitchen SAR 370 and two ACs SAR 230. VIP wrapping for the coffee sets would have added SAR 140, and outside stairs at the new house would have added the hoist.

Before moving day

  • Sort the roof and storeroom a week ahead and let go of what you do not need.
  • Unplug the fridge a day early and drain the washer.
  • Tell us about outside stairs or a narrow yard gate at the new house.
  • Leave space for the truck off the main road.
  • Keep papers and gold in a bag with you.
  • If you travel after the move, leave a spare key with a relative to receive the new house.

What stays with you

Gold, cash, title deeds, land papers, IDs and medicines; gas cylinders, fuel, farm pesticides and flammable liquids; and computers or drives with family photos. Valuable heritage pieces should travel with their owner.

Weather and busy seasons

Summers here are mild compared with hotter cities, so moving through the day is comfortable. Spring brings sudden showers, and winter mornings bring thick fog on the Abha–Taif road, so we leave once it lifts. The busy times are month-end, the start and end of the school year when teachers and staff relocate, and the wedding season in the holidays. In Ramadan we work mornings or after Taraweeh.

The lowest offer is not always the saving

Someone may offer to move the whole house in an open pickup for very little. That means several trips, cushions exposed to dust or rain and usually no carpenter. Ask what vehicle is used, whether dismantling and assembly are included, whether the kitchen and ACs are counted and what happens if the job runs late. Get the answers in a message and compare on that basis.

Storage and cleaning

If the new house is not finished, we store your furniture wrapped in a closed warehouse until you call for it, priced by volume and time. When you hand a rented house back, we can arrange cleaning after we empty it, or clean the new one before the furniture arrives, as an optional extra.

Common mistakes

  • Forgetting the roof and storeroom when asking for a price.
  • Packing fine coffee sets in big boxes with heavy things.
  • Not describing the road to a village house.
  • Leaving for another city on a foggy winter morning.
  • Agreeing verbally without details of what the price covers.

Steps of the job

  1. Send photos and both addresses through the quote page.
  2. We review and ask about majlis rooms, roof and road.
  3. We send the price and what it covers, and book the day.
  4. The crew packs, dismantles and labels.
  5. We load and strap.
  6. We unload and assemble in the order you chose.
  7. You check the house with us before we leave.

From Sabt Al Alaya to Jeddah, Riyadh and nearby towns

A big share of our work with the town is moving to or from another city. Starting prices by closed truck, including dismantling, packing and assembly:

Route Approx. distance Room 2–3 rooms 4–5 rooms Villa
Jeddah to Sabt Al Alaya about 550 km SAR 1,020 SAR 1,850 SAR 2,600 SAR 3,900
Riyadh to Sabt Al Alaya about 800 km SAR 700 SAR 1,120 SAR 1,850 SAR 2,300

We move in the other direction as well. Shorter runs, south to Al Namas and Tanomah, to Al Baha and Bisha, or to Abha and Khamis Mushait, are priced once we know the volume. The roads toward Abha and Al Namas are mountainous with bends and climbs, so we keep the upper load light and drive in daylight.

Sending urgent items by air

If you will reach your new city before the furniture and need a few boxes or documents straight away, we send them as domestic air cargo through Bisha airport, the closest to town, to the airport nearest your destination in one to two days. It is charged on actual or volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 6000), whichever is greater, while the furniture travels by road.

To find out what your move will cost, send photos through the quote request page and we will book the day that suits you.
