Furniture Moving in Tayma | Traditional Houses, Villas & Farmhouses with Assembly
Tayma is a quiet oasis town between Tabuk and Hail. Most homes are single-storey villas and traditional houses with courtyards and majlis rooms, surrounded by palm farms and small villages. Because it is a small town, a furniture move here needs the crew and vehicle arranged ahead of time more than it would in a big city. Muasasat Al Saif handles furniture moving in Tayma from start to finish: dismantling, packing, loading, transport and reassembly within the town, its districts and villages, and onwards to Tabuk, Hail and other cities. A single room starts from SAR 260, a two- or three-bedroom flat or house from SAR 370 and a villa from SAR 1,100, rising with volume and distance. Share photos on our quote request page and the free survey sets the final figure.

Furniture moving in Tayma: planning a move in a small town
In a big city you call movers in the morning and they arrive at noon. Tayma works a little differently: demand is lower and other cities are a long way off, so we ask you to book a day or two in advance. That gives us time to set the right crew size, prepare cartons, blankets and tools, and make sure the carpenter and AC technician are free on your day, so the AC is not removed one day and the furniture assembled on another.
Before the day we ask for the exact location of both homes, since some houses on the edge of town or in nearby villages are not pinned accurately by street name. Sharing your location from your phone is the easiest way, with a photo of the street outside so we know whether the dyna can reach the door.

What affects your price
High floors rarely push the price up in Tayma, because most homes have one or two storeys. What does is the size of the house itself. A traditional home often has a large men’s majlis with floor cushions and bolsters, a women’s majlis, an annex, many rooms, and a courtyard with outdoor seating and perhaps a tent. Distance matters too, for example a farmhouse at the end of a dirt track or a home in a neighbouring village. Kitchen, AC units and water heaters are added per item. Boxes packed in advance and a clear pile of things you are leaving behind bring the price down.
Districts and villages we reach
| Area | Examples | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Central Tayma and the old town | Around Haddaj Well, the ancient wall and the market | Narrower streets, older houses, mid-size dyna |
| Residential districts | Al Faw, Al Shifa, Al Asafiyah, Al Rahmaniyah, Al Rabwah | Ground-level villas, traditional houses, courtyards |
| Outskirts and villages | Al Jahra, Al Kutayb, Mahajjah, Umm Turfat | Longer drives, some unpaved roads |
| Farms and rest houses | Farms around the oasis | We check the road before sending the vehicle |
Tayma homes: what we expect at the door
Outer doors and courtyards are usually generous, so the dyna can park close to the entrance and work goes quickly. Inside older houses, though, doors can be narrower than modern wardrobes and stairs to the roof or upper annex are tight and steep, so we take wardrobes apart into panels rather than force them out whole. A few stone-and-mud houses still stand in central Tayma, some used as storerooms; there we carry pieces by hand instead of sliding them, as old thresholds and floors do not take friction well.
The majlis is usually the biggest part of a Tayma home: floor mattresses, bolsters, cushions, large rugs, coffee pots and cups. Mattresses and bolsters go into large plastic bags, rugs are rolled, and dallah pots, cups and incense burners go into small cartons with bubble wrap. None of this takes long to dismantle, but it takes a lot of truck space, so we account for it when choosing the vehicle.

Dismantling and assembly
Our carpenter takes beds and wardrobes apart, numbers doors and shelves, bags each piece’s screws and re-aligns doors after assembly. Older solid-wood furniture is handled carefully, as some joints are glued rather than screwed; anything that would be damaged by dismantling is wrapped and moved whole if the doorway allows. Kitchens are removed after water and gas are shut off and refitted to the new wall, from SAR 370. AC units are removed by a technician after pumping down the gas, then refitted and tested, from SAR 115 per unit. Winters here are cold, so water heaters are drained before the move and oil radiators travel upright.

Packing against sand, dust and cold
Tayma is ringed by desert and fine sand finds its way into furniture with the first gust. Sofas, mattresses and bolsters get full stretch-film wrapping, wood gets cloth blankets and appliances get bubble wrap and board. In winter, glass and plastic pieces get an extra layer because they weaken in the cold. Mirrors and paintings travel between two boards with corner guards, and we suggest dates and stored food ride in your car or in sealed cartons kept apart from the furniture. Every box is labelled by room; VIP packing for antiques and fine tableware starts from SAR 140.

Loading, and when a winch is needed
Winch work is rare in Tayma, but it is sometimes needed for newer apartment blocks without elevators or for large pieces in an upper annex with narrow stairs, from SAR 185. Most loading happens straight from the courtyard: heavy items at the front, wardrobes upright along the sides, mattresses and bolsters over the solid pieces, and each row strapped so nothing shifts on dirt tracks and speed bumps.
Choosing a vehicle
For one piece going across town, a dabab from SAR 45 is enough. A wanet, from SAR 140, suits a few belongings, appliances or light farm tools, and is usually enough for teachers and employees posted to Tayma for a period, whose things are typically a bed, fridge, washer, TV and boxes. A dyna, from SAR 185 per trip, covers one room to a three-bedroom house. A closed truck is for villas, large traditional houses and moves to other cities.
Included and extra
Included: standard bed and wardrobe work, standard wrapping, loading and unloading, transport within Tayma and placing pieces in their rooms. Extra on request: kitchen, AC units, water heaters, winch, VIP packing, curtains and TV mounting, tents and outdoor seating, trips to distant villages and farms, storage and cleaning.
Example: Al Rabwah to a farmhouse
A family in a ground-floor villa in Al Rabwah was moving to a house they had built on their farm at the edge of Tayma, with the last two kilometres or so on a dirt track. They had three bedrooms, a large men’s majlis with floor seating, a women’s majlis, a kitchen staying behind because the new house had one, three split AC units and a winter tent. The owner shared the farm location and a photo of the track beforehand, so we knew the closed truck could get through. A supervisor, four movers, a carpenter and an AC technician worked from 8 am to about 3 pm. The villa rate starts from SAR 1,100 and the three AC units from SAR 345, so the job started from SAR 1,445, with the tent as agreed in the quote.
Before moving day
- Book a day or two ahead and share both locations from your phone.
- Photograph the road to the new home if it is on a farm or in a village.
- Empty wardrobes; unplug the fridge the night before.
- Drain water heaters and shut off the gas.
- Gather coffee sets and food stores in one place.
- Set aside what you are leaving so it is not loaded by mistake.
Gold, cash, IDs, property and farm deeds and daily medicines stay with you. Gas cylinders, heater fuel, pesticides and chemical fertilisers never travel with the furniture.
Seasons and timing
Tayma summers are hot and dry, so we work from early morning until before midday where possible. Winters are cold, especially at dawn and night, so we start once the day warms and finish before sunset. On sandy, windy days we use a closed truck and wrap everything. Month-end, the pre-school weeks and the end of the school year, when teachers and employees relocate, are busy; in Ramadan we work mornings or after Taraweeh.
Questions to ask about a low quote
If an offer seems very low, ask whether the crew is based in Tayma or coming from another city and who pays for that, whether dismantling and assembly are included, whether the truck is closed, and whether they will drive to the farm or wait at the paved road. Clear answers protect you from surprises on the day. We can also store furniture wrapped in a closed space until your home is ready, and arrange optional cleaning priced by area.
