Furniture Moving in Yanbu | Yanbu Al Bahr, Industrial City & Al Nakhl
Yanbu is really three places when it comes to moving furniture: Yanbu Al Bahr with its old and new districts, Yanbu Industrial with Royal Commission and company housing, and Yanbu Al Nakhl with its farms and widely spaced homes. Muasasat Al Saif provides furniture moving in Yanbu across all three: dismantling, packing, loading, transport and reassembly, with a winch for upper floors, AC technicians and carpenters for kitchens. A single room starts from SAR 160, a two- or three-bedroom apartment from SAR 350 and a villa from SAR 1,100, rising with volume, floor and distance. Send photos of your furniture via our quote request page; the survey is free.
🌊 Sea town, industrial city, palm oasis

- Yanbu Industrial: Royal Commission and company housing, where handover rules matter.
- Yanbu Al Nakhl: spread-out homes and farms, and a longer drive.
- Packing: an extra layer against coastal humidity for appliances and metal.
- Starting rates: room SAR 160, flat SAR 350, villa SAR 1,100.
Furniture moving in Yanbu: three very different jobs
Anyone who lives here knows that moving from Al Sarif to Al Nakheel is one thing and moving from Yanbu Al Bahr into a house in Yanbu Industrial is quite another. In Yanbu Al Bahr we deal with small elevators, tight streets near the old market and parking outside the building. In Yanbu Industrial the issues are housing handover procedures, entry permits for some gated compounds and permitted access hours. In Yanbu Al Nakhl it is distance, internal roads between farms, and annex and outdoor furniture. The drive between Yanbu Al Bahr and Yanbu Industrial takes about half an hour by dyna, so we treat it as an in-town move. Yanbu Al Nakhl lies inland to the east and the trip is longer, which we factor into the quote.

What changes the price
Our first question is always “from where to where”, because a hop between neighbouring districts of Yanbu Al Bahr is far shorter than a run out to Yanbu Al Nakhl. Then floor and elevator, the number of large wardrobes, and the kitchen. Many company houses come with a kitchen and AC units already fitted, so you do not need to move yours, which brings the price straight down. Villas with an annex, outdoor seating and separate majlis rooms take more time and a bigger crew. Month-end and staff rotation periods fill the calendar, so book early.
Areas we cover
| Area | Examples |
|---|---|
| Central Yanbu Al Bahr and the old town | The historic Al Sour quarter and the streets near the port and market |
| Residential Yanbu Al Bahr | Al Sarif, Al Jabiriyah, Al Nakheel, Al Shuruq, Al Salam, Al Falah, Al Nahdah, Al Majd |
| Newer districts | Al Muruj, Al Rabi, Al Subh and new plans on the edges of town |
| Yanbu Industrial | Royal Commission residential districts and company housing compounds |
| Yanbu Al Nakhl | Homes, farms and surrounding villages |
The old town has heritage houses on lanes a large dyna cannot enter, so we use a smaller vehicle or carry pieces to the nearest point where the truck can park.
Moving out of Royal Commission or company housing
Most moving pages skip this, but it matters to every employee in Yanbu Industrial. Commission or company housing is usually handed back after an inspection by the housing office, and you may be asked to return it in the condition you received it. So we protect floors, doors and wall corners while carrying large pieces out; we never remove the original fittings of the house, such as the kitchen, AC units or fixed curtains, unless you are sure they are yours; we can fill screw holes you made for TVs or shelves before the inspection if you ask; for gated compounds we send vehicle and crew details in advance; and we time the move around your key handover. If you are arriving to take up new housing, ask about permitted entry hours and where the truck can park, and leave the rest to us.

Coastal humidity and salt air: how we pack in Yanbu
Yanbu sits on the Red Sea, humidity climbs sharply in late summer and the sea breeze carries fine salt. A half-hour drive does not suffer much from that, but furniture left uncovered on the street or kept in storage for days does. Electronics get bubble wrap and then stretch film to keep damp air out. Metal table legs, iron bed frames and handles are wrapped against spray. Wood gets cloth blankets, which do not trap moisture on the surface the way plastic pressed directly onto it can. Mattresses and sofas get covers and film. For storage we add a layer and keep appliances raised off the floor. Every carton is labelled by room, and boxes of glassware ride on the side of the truck with least movement. VIP packing for antiques and glass starts from SAR 140.

Dismantling and reassembling rooms and kitchens
Modern bedrooms with sliding wardrobes need a carpenter who knows the tracks; a sliding door refitted without adjustment starts sticking within days. We dismantle, number the panels and bag each piece’s screws with it. Kitchens deserve a word of their own in Yanbu, because many people move from a flat with a kitchen they bought into company housing with one already installed, or the other way round. If you are taking yours, dismantling and refitting starts from SAR 370, and we measure the new wall before promising it will fit as it is. Split AC units are removed by a technician after pumping down the gas, then refitted and tested, from SAR 140 per unit.

Winch work and loading
Most buildings in Yanbu Al Bahr are mid-rise, but elevators tend to be small and stairs narrow in older blocks. Corner sofas, large fridges and wardrobes that cannot be dismantled come down by winch from the balcony, from SAR 325. A photo of the façade tells us whether the winch has room to stand and whether cables or awnings are in the way. In the truck, heavy items go first near the cab, wardrobes stand upright along the sides, sofas follow and light boxes go last, all strapped so nothing shifts over speed bumps and roundabouts.
Which vehicle suits you
A dabab, from SAR 95, takes a single fridge, washer or sofa. A wanet, from SAR 140, suits bachelor housing, appliances and a few boxes, which is usually enough for contract workers coming to Yanbu Industrial with a bed, a small fridge, a TV and suitcases. A dyna, from SAR 140 per trip, covers one room to a three-bedroom flat. A closed truck is used for villas, trips to Yanbu Al Nakhl and anything going into storage.
Included and extra
Included: standard bed and wardrobe work, standard wrapping, carrying by stairs or elevator, transport within Yanbu Al Bahr and Yanbu Industrial, and placing pieces in their rooms. Extra: kitchen, AC units, winch, VIP packing, curtains and TV mounting, storage, cleaning, and the run to Yanbu Al Nakhl depending on distance.
Example: Al Sarif to company housing in Yanbu Industrial
An employee and his family in a second-floor, three-bedroom flat in Al Sarif were taking over a company townhouse in Yanbu Industrial with a fitted kitchen and AC. The old flat’s AC units belonged to the landlord, so nothing had to be removed. Contents: a master bedroom, a children’s room with two beds, a majlis, a dining table, a fridge, a washer and about thirty boxes. A supervisor, four movers and a carpenter worked with one large closed dyna from 7 am until around 1 pm, including half an hour on the road. We sent vehicle and crew details to the compound gate the day before. With wide stairs and no winch needed, the job started from SAR 350.
Before moving day
- Get the inspection and handover date from the housing office and move a day earlier.
- Confirm which items are yours and which belong to the housing or landlord.
- Empty wardrobes and drawers; unplug the fridge the night before.
- Shut off gas, disconnect and drain the washing machine.
- Ask about entry permits if the new home is in a gated compound.
Keep gold, cash, passports, work and housing contracts, daily medicines and computers with you. Gas cylinders, flammable cleaners and diving or fishing gear with pressurised tanks do not travel with the furniture.
Seasons and timing
Yanbu summers are hot and humid, so we start at first light and finish loading before the heat peaks. Month-end, the weeks before school and staff rotation periods are busy. In Ramadan we work mornings or after Taraweeh. Winter is mild and the easiest time to move and to store, with less humidity.
Low quotes, storage and cleaning
If a price is far below the rest, ask for the breakdown: how many movers, a carpenter or not, closed truck or open, winch included or not. When handing back company housing, ask whether they will protect floors and doors, because any scratch may be deducted from you. We can store your furniture in a closed warehouse with coastal-grade wrapping, and arrange optional cleaning of the old home so it passes inspection easily.

Frequently asked questions

No. The drive is about half an hour, so it counts as an in-town move; an apartment starts from SAR 350.
Do you go out to Yanbu Al Nakhl?
Yes. It lies inland to the east and the trip is longer, so the extra distance is added to the quote.
I am handing back company housing. Will you protect floors and doors?

My new compound has a gate. How does the crew get in?
We send vehicle and crew details to the compound management in advance so there is no delay at the gate.
My new house has a kitchen and AC. Should I move mine?
There is no need, and it lowers the price. If you want to, kitchen work starts from SAR 370 after measuring the wall.

I am on a short contract with few belongings. What should I book?
