Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Al Ahsa | Delivery to Al Mubarraz, Al Omran, Al Oyoun and the Oasis Villages

Many people looking for furniture moving from Jeddah to Al Ahsa are from Al Ahsa themselves: they spent years in Jeddah for work or study and are now heading home to family in Al Mubarraz, Al Omran, Al Oyoun or Al Jafr. At Muasasat Al Saif we dismantle and pack your furniture in Jeddah, load it into a closed truck, drive roughly 1,250 km to the oasis and deliver to any town or village there, farmhouses and rest houses included, then put everything back together. A room starts from SAR 1,400, a two-to-three-bedroom flat from SAR 2,300 and a villa from SAR 6,500, rising with volume, floor level and how far out the village is. Send photos through our quote request page to get your price.

🌾 Jeddah to the whole oasis: towns and villages

  • We deliver to: Hofuf, Al Mubarraz, Al Oyoun, Al Omran, Al Jafr, Al Qarah, Al Taraf, Al Munaizlah, Al Mutairfi, Al Hulaila, Al Kulabiya, Al Shuba, Al Julaijlah, Al Tuwaithir, Al Jishah and more.
  • Distance: about 1,250 km to the edge of Al Ahsa, then minutes to an hour inside the governorate.
  • Whole job: two to three days from packing to assembly.
  • Two addresses: part of the load to a flat in Al Mubarraz and part to the family house in a village, on the same trip.

How long does the move take? The answer first

Jeddah to Al Ahsa is about 1,250 km, which means 13 to 15 hours of driving before rest stops. In practice we load in Jeddah on day one, the truck leaves at night or dawn, and it reaches the oasis on the evening of day two or the morning of day three. Hofuf and Al Mubarraz get direct delivery; the eastern and northern villages add a little time, and may need a smaller vehicle if the last stretch to the house is a dirt track between farms.

Prices for furniture moving from Jeddah to Al Ahsa

Load size From Usually includes
One room or small load SAR 1,400 Dismantling, packing, loading and room assembly
2–3 bedroom flat SAR 2,300 Bedroom dismantling and assembly, majlis and appliance wrapping
4–5 bedrooms SAR 3,500 Dedicated truck and a bigger crew
Villa SAR 6,500 Possibly two trucks, large majlis sets and outdoor furniture

These are starting prices; the final figure follows a free survey or a review of your photos. Items usually priced separately: kitchen removal and refitting, air conditioners per unit, a winch for upper floors in Jeddah, delivery to a second address, and premium packing for antiques and fragile pieces.

When the price comes down

If you have few items and no rush, a shared load with another customer heading east cuts the cost a lot. Clearing out old furniture you will not use shrinks the load and may let a smaller truck do the job. Loading from a ground floor or a wide lift saves hours of labour.

Towns and villages we deliver to in Al Ahsa

Al Ahsa is not one city but a large oasis with two main towns and dozens of villages among the palms. Here is what that means for delivery:

Area Examples Approx. time from the oasis edge Delivery note
Hofuf Al Kut, Al Mazrouiya, Mahasen, Al Hazm direct Narrow lanes in the old centre
Al Mubarraz Old districts around the souq, newer districts to the north and west, Ain Najm direct Flats and villas, mostly wide streets
Northern villages Al Oyoun, Al Mutairfi, Al Hulaila, Al Kulabiya, Al Shuba 20–40 minutes Traditional houses and family villas
Eastern villages Al Omran, Al Jafr, Al Qarah, Al Taraf, Al Tuwaithir, Al Jishah, Al Munaizlah 15–40 minutes Roads between farms, sometimes unpaved
Outlying areas Al Uqair on the coast, Salwa near the border one to two hours Extra distance added to the quote

Delivering to farms and rest houses

A house inside a palm farm in Al Jafr or Al Qarah may sit at the end of a narrow track between irrigation channels, or on soft sand that will not carry a loaded truck. In that case the big truck parks on the nearest paved road and we shuttle the furniture in by small truck or pickup. We ask you about the access road before the trip, and a map pin plus a photo of the entrance helps a great deal.

Pickup districts in Jeddah

We collect from north Jeddah (Obhur, Al Shati, Al Mohammadiya, Al Naeem, Al Zahra), the centre (Al Rawdah, Al Khalidiya, Al Faisaliyah, Al Mushrifah) and the south and east (Al Jamiah, Al Sanabel, Al Muntazahat, Al Harazat, Al Safa). Older blocks without lifts get a winch, and in towers we book the service lift in advance.

The road from Jeddah to the oasis

The usual route skirts Makkah and then follows the Riyadh expressway across Najd, with rest areas at towns such as Al Muwayh, Zalim and Al Quwaiyah. The truck uses the Riyadh ring roads without crossing the centre, then heads east on the Al Ahsa road for about 330 km, entering the oasis from the west. From there we go straight to your address: Hofuf and Al Mubarraz are close, and the eastern and northern villages a short drive beyond.

There are routine highway checkpoints and rest stops where the driver checks straps and doors. We will not promise an exact arrival hour before departure; we give you an estimate and update it on the way.

Distances

Leg Approx. distance Driving time
Jeddah → Riyadh about 950 km 10–11 hours
Riyadh → Al Ahsa about 330 km 3.5–4 hours
Jeddah → Al Ahsa overall about 1,250 km 13–15 hours excluding rests
Hofuf → Abqaiq around 70 km about an hour
Hofuf → Dammam around 150 km about an hour and a half

Day-by-day plan

Day one in Jeddah: the crew arrives in the morning and starts with the rooms furthest from the door. The carpenter takes down beds and wardrobes while the movers wrap the majlis, appliances and boxes. Loading happens after the afternoon prayer, and the truck is closed in front of you.

That night or at dawn: departure. In summer we prefer to drive through the cooler night and early morning.

Day two: across Najd, round Riyadh and on to Al Ahsa.

Evening of day two or morning of day three: arrival, unloading and assembly. With two addresses, we do the nearer one first and the second the same day.

Packing for 1,250 km

Majlis cushions and bedroom panels wrapped in blankets before a Jeddah to Al Ahsa move
Majlis cushions and bedroom panels wrapped in blankets before a Jeddah to Al Ahsa move

The Arabic majlis sets common in Al Ahsa homes are heavy and long, with plenty of armrests and cushions. Each seat is wrapped in film and then a blanket, and the cushions go in large numbered bags of their own. Bedrooms are fully dismantled, each panel wrapped separately, with screws in small bags taped to the piece. Appliances get bubble wrap and card, and TVs go in boxes made for their size or between rigid boards.

Some families bring brass pots, old dallah coffee pots or heirloom pieces. These get extra layers and travel in small boxes marked fragile, and they can be insured on request.

Loading and the closed truck

We load in reverse order of unloading: what comes off first goes on last. If there are two delivery addresses, the two loads are separated inside the truck with a divider and blankets so the flat’s things never mix with the family house’s. Heavy items sit low against the front wall, lighter ones above, glass upright and protected in the middle, each row strapped.

The truck is always closed on this route. A full day of sun plus dust on the Al Ahsa road would damage fabric and wood on an exposed load.

Your own truck or a shared load

A dedicated truck leaves on your date and drives straight through, right for a full flat or villa. A shared load costs less but waits for the truck to fill, so it suits someone moving a room or a few items who does not mind a delay of a day or two.

Assembly in the new home

In Al Ahsa we reassemble bedrooms, wardrobes, dressing tables and dining tables, and refit the kitchen if the wall dimensions allow. Rooms in older village houses can differ from Jeddah flats, so measure the walls before the trip. Curtain fitting or TV mounting can be added to the quote.

What the price covers and what is extra

Usually included Added on request
Bedroom and wardrobe dismantling and assembly Kitchen removal, refitting and adjustment
Film, blankets and boxes Premium packing for antiques and heirlooms
Loading, unloading and strapping Winch for upper floors without a lift
Closed truck, driver and the trip AC removal and installation per unit
Delivery to one address in the oasis A second address, a distant village, or storage

If one offer is far below the rest, ask two questions: is the truck closed, and are dismantling and assembly included? Many low offers mean moving the furniture as it stands, in an open truck, with the other costs appearing once your things are already on the road.

Insurance and storage

Insurance on valuable items is available on request. Storage helps people who reach Al Ahsa before their house is renovated or finished, which is common for families returning to a family home. We keep the furniture in a closed warehouse and deliver later, priced by volume and duration.

Weather on the road and in the oasis

The oasis is humid in summer because of its water and farms, and very hot at midday, so we start unloading as early as we can. The Najd road is hot and dry and can see dusty winds that slow the driver down. Winter is mild, with occasional morning fog near the farms. Candles, medicines and perfumes do not cope with the heat inside a truck box, so carry them with you.

Sending urgent items by air

If you need some things before the furniture arrives, such as a folder of official papers or school clothes, they can go as domestic air cargo from King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah to Al Ahsa Airport or King Fahd Airport in Dammam, arriving in one to two days. Air cargo is charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, with volumetric weight = length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000; a 60 × 40 × 40 cm box counts as 16 kg. The furniture itself travels by road.

Worked example: a family returning from Al Safa to Al Omran

A family of five in a four-bedroom, third-floor walk-up in Al Safa, Jeddah. They wanted two bedrooms and a majlis in a rented flat in Al Mubarraz, and the rest at the family house in Al Omran:

  • Items: three bedrooms, an Arabic majlis, dining table, aluminium kitchen, three split ACs, about 45 boxes.
  • In Jeddah: winch for the third floor, five movers and a carpenter, about seven hours.
  • Truck: one dedicated closed truck split into two loads.
  • Delivery: Al Mubarraz on the morning of day three, Al Omran in the afternoon.
  • Price: from SAR 3,500, with the winch, kitchen, ACs and second address itemised in the quote.

Checklist before loading

  • Send the Al Ahsa address pin and a photo of the access road if it is inside a farm.
  • Say whether delivery is to one address or two.
  • Empty and dry the fridge and freezer a day early.
  • Keep gold, documents and medicines with you.
  • No gas cylinders or fuel in the truck.
  • Measure the new kitchen walls if the kitchen is coming.
  • Pack a bag for three days.

Mistakes we see on Al Ahsa moves

  • Not mentioning the house is inside a farm, so a big truck arrives at a track it cannot use.
  • Mixing two addresses’ things in the same boxes.
  • Carrying old furniture to a family house that is already furnished.
  • Choosing an open truck to save a small amount.
  • Accepting a price that leaves out dismantling and assembly, then paying for them separately.

How the job runs

  1. Request a quote with photos and the Al Ahsa location.
  2. Receive an itemised quote showing what is included and what is extra.
  3. Fix the loading date and delivery addresses.
  4. Dismantling, packing and loading in Jeddah.
  5. The drive, with arrival updates.
  6. Unloading and assembly, checking each piece with you.

Yes. We separate the two loads inside the truck and deliver both the same day; the second address is itemised in the quote.
