Furniture Moving from Riyadh to Buraidah | Packing, Closed Trucks & Same-Day Delivery
At Al Saif we handle furniture moving from Riyadh to Buraidah door to door: we dismantle and pack in your Riyadh home, load a closed truck, drive roughly 350 km up the Qassim expressway, then unload and reassemble in your new home in Buraidah, usually on the same day. A single room or small load starts from SAR 750 and a two- or three-bedroom apartment from SAR 1,120, rising with volume, floor level and distance inside both cities. Send photos of your rooms through the quote request page and you will get an itemised price after a free photo survey.
🚚 The Buraidah run at a glance
- Distance: about 350 km from north Riyadh to central Buraidah.
- Driving: roughly 3.5 to 4.5 hours for a loaded truck, with one short stop.
- Whole job: dismantling and loading in the morning, delivery and assembly before night for most apartments.
- From: SAR 750 a room, SAR 1,120 an apartment, SAR 1,680 for 4–5 rooms, SAR 2,150 a villa.
- Included: dismantling, packing, loading, transport, unloading and assembly.
How long does furniture moving from Riyadh to Buraidah take?
By intercity standards Buraidah is close. The truck needs about four hours on the road, and most of the real time is spent inside the two homes: taking beds apart, wrapping glass, carrying a fridge down from a third floor. A three-bedroom apartment usually takes three to five hours of work in Riyadh and about the same in Buraidah.
So we start early. If the crew is at your door at 7 a.m., the truck is usually on the highway before noon and in Buraidah by mid-afternoon, and the family sleeps in its own beds that night. Large villas are sometimes split over two days, with delivery the next morning, so nothing gets assembled in a rush late at night.
Distance and driving time

| Unaizah | about 370 km | 4–4.5 hours | same day |
| Al Rass | about 420 km | 4.5–5 hours | same day or next morning |
| Al Bukayriyah, Al Badaye | about 380–400 km | 4–5 hours | same day |
If you are heading to another Qassim governorate rather than Buraidah itself, our Qassim region guide covers each town. This page is about the city of Buraidah and its districts.
The road: Riyadh to Buraidah
The truck leaves north Riyadh on the Riyadh–Qassim expressway, a wide divided road where heavy vehicles can hold a steady speed. Past the city it runs through the Sudair area, past the exits for Al Majma’ah, Al Ghat and Az Zulfi, then enters the Qassim region and approaches Buraidah from the south-east. There are plenty of fuel stations and rest areas, so one stop for prayer and a break is usually enough. Routine highway security checkpoints apply; a household load needs nothing beyond the driver’s ID and the truck registration.

Weather on the Qassim road
In summer the midday heat on the road climbs past forty degrees, and that is where a closed truck earns its keep: direct sun damages wood finishes, softens carton tape and warps plastic. We prefer early-morning loading in summer. Qassim winters are noticeably colder than Riyadh, and morning fog can sit near the farms, so we may hold departure until visibility clears. On windy days dust gets into any gap, which is why nothing travels unwrapped.
Prices for furniture moving from Riyadh to Buraidah
| Home size | From | Typical contents |
|---|---|---|
| One room or small load | SAR 750 | a bedroom, or a student’s or single employee’s things with basic appliances |
| 2–3 bedroom apartment | SAR 1,120 | bedrooms, majlis, kitchen items, appliances and boxes |
| 4–5 room home | SAR 1,680 | a full floor or large apartment with two sitting rooms |
| Villa | SAR 2,150 | two-storey villa with annex and yard, sometimes two trucks |
These are starting prices; the final figure depends on volume, floors and distance within each city. A large aluminium kitchen, four split AC units or built-in wardrobes are listed as separate lines on the quote before moving day, so the number does not change at the door.
Add-on services
| Service | From |
|---|---|
| Furniture hoist for upper floors (in Buraidah) | SAR 185 |
| Kitchen dismantling and installation | SAR 370 |
| AC removal and installation, per unit | SAR 115 |
| Carpenter for an extra room or adjustments | SAR 140 per room |
| VIP packing for delicate pieces | SAR 140 |
What moves the price
- Pieces, not rooms: a room with a six-door wardrobe, dresser and bookcase is a different job from a bed and a small closet.
- Stairs and lifts: a fourth floor with no lift in Al Malaz or Al Shifa needs more hands or a hoist.
- Access: some older streets in central Buraidah are tight for a large truck, so a dyna shuttles the last stretch.
- Timing: end of month and the start of school holidays fill up fast.
- Full or shared truck: a small load can ride with another Qassim-bound load for less.
Pickup in Riyadh, delivery across Buraidah
We collect from every part of Riyadh: the north (Al Malqa, An Narjis, Al Yasmin, Hittin, Al Arid), the east (Al Rawdah, An Naseem, Al Yarmuk, Al Hamra), the west (Dhahrat Laban, Al Suwaidi, Tuwaiq, Namar), the south (Al Shifa, Al Aziziyah, Ad Dar Al Baida, Badr) and the centre (Al Malaz, Al Sulaimaniyah, Al Olaya). Northern districts sit close to the Qassim exit and save half an hour or more of city traffic; for southern pickups we start earlier to beat the commute.
| Area of Buraidah | Districts | Delivery note |
|---|---|---|
| North and north-west | Al Safra, Huwailan, Al Rayyan | newer villas and duplexes; the truck usually parks at the gate |
| East | Al Khaleej, Al Iskan, Al Nahdah | apartment blocks; we check the lift and its door size |
| South and centre | Al Fayziyah, Al Shiqah, around the old centre | older houses and narrow lanes; a dyna may do the last leg |
| Outskirts | Al Khubub farms and rest houses | some dirt tracks; please share a map pin before we set off |
We also deliver to Al Mulayda, home of Qassim University, where many of our customers are staff relocating from Riyadh.
Dismantling and packing in Riyadh
Over 350 km a load vibrates constantly, and any two pieces touching without padding will rub until they scratch. So we pack in a fixed order:
- Bedroom sets come apart; screws and hinges go in a bag taped to the piece and labelled with the room.
- Wooden surfaces get bubble wrap, then corrugated board on edges and corners.
- Mattresses go into sealed plastic covers against dust.
- Plates and glasses are wrapped one by one in divided cartons marked fragile and this-way-up.
- TVs travel upright in original boxes or in rigid board with corner guards.
- Sofas are covered in heavy plastic or fabric; chairs are stacked with spacers.

The fridge should be switched off a day early and dried, the washing machine drum locked, and the oven door taped. Aluminium kitchens are dismantled unit by unit and numbered; if the kitchen space in Buraidah is a different size, tell us in advance so the carpenter’s adjustments are priced in.
Loading and securing the truck
Heavy goes first and low, light goes above, long pieces along the sides. The fridge, washer and dismantled wardrobes stand against the front wall, mattresses form a buffer, then heavy cartons, then sofas, with light boxes and cushions above them. Each row is strapped to the truck walls and blankets go between rows so nothing touches.

Full truck or shared load?
A full household goes in its own truck, on your schedule, with no other stops. A small load, such as a student’s room or the belongings of an employee moving ahead of his family, can join a Qassim-bound truck the same or next day. It costs less; the trade-off is that delivery follows the truck’s route. Shared loads are separated with covers and labels so nothing gets mixed.
Closed or open truck?
For household furniture we use closed trucks almost every time. An open dyna is fine for yard furniture or rest-house gear, or a short trip inside a city, but four hours of highway sun and dust is not worth the small saving.
Unloading and assembly in Buraidah
An hour before arrival the supervisor calls you or whoever is receiving, to confirm the location and parking. The crew carries everything to the rooms you choose and starts with bedrooms, since that is what the family needs on the first night, then the kitchen and sitting rooms. Beds and wardrobes are assembled, curtains and TVs mounted if requested, and we go through the numbered cartons with you. If the new home is upstairs with no lift big enough for the sofas, a hoist starts from SAR 185.
Sending urgent items by air
Furniture always goes by road, but sometimes you need documents, a laptop or a box of clothes in Buraidah before the truck arrives, for example when an employee starts work before the family moves. A few cartons or documents can go as domestic air cargo from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh to Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Qassim, arriving within one to two days. The charge is based on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, where volumetric weight = length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000. A 50 × 40 × 40 cm carton counts as about 13 kg even if it is full of light clothes. Because the road to Buraidah is short, air is for genuine urgency only.
Worked example: An Narjis to Al Safra
A family of five lives in a three-bedroom, second-floor apartment in An Narjis. The father has been transferred to Buraidah and they have rented a ground-floor home in Al Safra. They have a master bedroom, two children’s rooms, an Arabic majlis, a six-seat dining table, a small aluminium kitchen, fridge, washer and oven, two split AC units and about forty cartons.
- Before the day: photos sent through the quote page; the itemised price came back with the apartment from SAR 1,120, kitchen from SAR 370 and AC from SAR 115 per unit.
- 7 a.m.: four movers and a carpenter arrive and work room by room.
- 11 a.m.: one closed truck is loaded and on the Qassim road.
- Around 3 p.m.: arrival in Al Safra; a ground floor makes unloading quick.
- Before sunset: bedrooms and kitchen are assembled, cartons placed in the right rooms.
What is included, what is extra
- Included: crew, standard dismantling and assembly, basic packing materials, closed truck, fuel, unloading into rooms.
- On request: kitchen work, AC units, hoist, VIP packing, storage, cleaning of the old or new home.
- Insurance on valuables: available on request, based on the value of the items you choose.
Storage on arrival
Sometimes the Buraidah rental is handed over a week late while the Riyadh lease ends on time. We load on your date, keep the furniture packed in storage, then deliver and assemble when the house is ready, with the cost by volume and duration shown on the quote.
Checklist before moving day
- Book at least a week ahead, especially at month end and before school starts.
- Ask the Riyadh landlord about lift use and truck parking.
- Make sure you have the Buraidah keys and that power and water are on.
- Empty and unplug the fridge a day early; dry the washer.
- Keep gold, documents, medicines and chargers in a bag that stays with you.
- No full gas cylinders, flammables or open cleaning liquids in the truck.
- Name each room in the new home and write it on its cartons.
Common mistakes
- Agreeing a phone price without photos, then arguing about extra pieces on the day.
- Choosing an open dyna to save a little and receiving dusty, scuffed furniture.
- Forgetting to mention the kitchen, so no carpenter comes with the crew.
- Not measuring the lift or stairway in Buraidah before moving a large sofa.
- Chasing the lowest quote: very low prices usually mean no packing, casual labour or a price that changes on arrival.

Frequently asked questions
Can furniture from Riyadh reach Buraidah on the same day?
For most apartments, yes: morning loading, about four hours of driving, and assembly before night. Large villas may be delivered the next morning.
How much does it cost to move a three-bedroom apartment from Riyadh to Buraidah?
A 2–3 bedroom apartment starts from SAR 1,120, with kitchen, AC and hoist work added only if needed, itemised after you send photos.
How far is Buraidah from Riyadh by truck?
About 350 km from north Riyadh to central Buraidah on the Qassim expressway, roughly 3.5 to 4.5 hours of driving.
I'm a Qassim University student with one room of things. Can you move it?
Yes. A room or small load starts from SAR 750 and can join a shared Qassim-bound truck to cost less; we deliver to Al Mulayda or inside Buraidah.
Can the truck reach older houses in central Buraidah?
If the street is too narrow we park at the nearest suitable spot and shuttle the furniture to the door by dyna.
Do you deliver to farms or rest houses outside Buraidah?
Yes, including the Al Khubub farm areas. We ask for a map pin before leaving because some tracks are unpaved.
Why a closed truck instead of an open dyna?
The load spends hours in highway sun and dust, and a closed truck protects wood, fabric and appliances from heat and grit.
What if my Buraidah home isn't ready on moving day?
We load on your date, keep everything packed in storage and deliver when the house is ready, charged by volume and duration.
Can I send urgent documents to Buraidah before the furniture?
Yes, a few cartons or documents can fly from King Khalid Airport to Prince Naif Airport in Qassim within one to two days, charged on actual or volumetric weight.
Is AC removal and installation included?
No, it is an add-on from SAR 115 per unit, listed on the quote in advance.
Can you move furniture to an upper floor in Buraidah without a lift?
Yes, by hand where possible and by hoist for sofas and large wardrobes, with the hoist from SAR 185.
