Furniture Moving from Riyadh to Qassim | Unaizah, Al Rass, Al Mithnab & Al Bukayriyah

Unaizah, Al Rass, Al Mithnab, Al Bukayriyah or Al Badaye: whichever Qassim governorate you are moving to, Al Saif handles furniture moving from Riyadh to Qassim the same way. We dismantle and pack in Riyadh, drive a closed truck roughly 350 to 420 km depending on the town, then unload and reassemble at your new home. A room or small load starts from SAR 750, a two- or three-bedroom apartment from SAR 1,120 and a 4–5 room home from SAR 1,680, rising with volume, floors and distance. Send photos through the quote request page for a price after a free survey.

🌴 Before you book for Qassim

  • Name the town, not the region: Al Rass is about 50 km further than Unaizah, which changes the schedule.
  • Bigger homes: many Qassim houses have yards, outdoor majlis rooms and annexes; include them in your photos.
  • Farms: if delivery is to a farm or rest house, send a map pin.
  • From: SAR 750 a room, 1,120 an apartment, 1,680 for 4–5 rooms, 2,150 a villa.
  • Timing: same-day delivery to most nearby towns; next morning for large or distant homes.

Furniture moving from Riyadh to Qassim: which town?

Qassim is not one city but a cluster of governorates separated by palm groves, farms and short connecting roads. When people ask us about moving to Qassim they usually mean one of these towns, not just Buraidah. So we ask for the town first, then the district or farm, because delivering in central Unaizah and delivering to a farm outside Al Rass can be an hour and a half apart.

Governorate Approx. distance from Riyadh From Buraidah Truck driving from Riyadh
Unaizah about 370 km about 30 km south 4–4.5 hours
Al Rass about 420 km about 90 km south-west 4.5–5 hours
Al Mithnab about 360–380 km depending on route about 65 km south-east 4–4.5 hours
Al Bukayriyah about 380–390 km about 35 km west 4–4.5 hours
Al Badaye about 390–400 km about 40 km south-west 4–5 hours
Riyadh Al Khabra, Al Shimasiyah, Uyun Al Jiwa about 380–410 km 25–50 km 4–5 hours

If you are moving to Buraidah itself, it has its own guide with district-level notes; this page covers the rest of the region.

Delivery notes town by town

Unaizah

Unaizah is a sizeable city with modern apartments and villas in the newer plans, plus older houses near the centre on lanes a large truck cannot enter. In the new districts the truck parks at the door; in the old quarter a small dyna shuttles from the nearest wide street. Al Mulayda and Qassim University are close by, and many university staff ask for delivery there.

Al Rass

Al Rass is the furthest main governorate on this route, in the south-west of Qassim toward the Madinah road. A large home going to Al Rass is sometimes delivered the next morning, because assembling a two-storey villa does not fit into what is left of the day after five hours of driving.

Al Mithnab

Al Mithnab is a palm-grove town of mostly wide, single-storey houses, and many of our jobs there are families returning to the family home after years in Riyadh. Loads tend to be bigger than a typical apartment: separate men’s and women’s majlis furniture, yard furniture, sometimes farm tools, so we size the job carefully from photos.

Al Bukayriyah and Al Badaye

Both lie west and south-west of Buraidah, with truck-friendly local roads and mostly villas or traditional one- or two-storey houses. The road is the easy part; the time goes into assembling rooms.

Farms and rest houses

Part of every Qassim schedule is farms or rest houses outside town. Some have paved access, others a short dirt track. We ask for a map pin and whether the gate is wide enough for the truck; if not, we transfer to a dyna at the road.

The route north

The main road is the Riyadh–Qassim expressway, leaving north Riyadh and running through the Sudair area into Qassim, where it branches toward Buraidah, Unaizah and beyond. For Al Mithnab and Unaizah the driver may instead take the road through the Al Washm area and Shaqra; the distance is similar and he picks whichever suits the delivery point and arrival time. Both roads have fuel stations and rest stops, and the usual highway security checkpoints need nothing more than the driver’s and truck’s papers for a household load.

Weather on the road and in Qassim

Qassim summers are hot and dry; winters are colder than Riyadh, especially at night and early morning. Summer means early starts and keeping wood, leather and electronics out of the heat in a closed truck. Winter means watching for morning fog near farms and valleys, and for occasional rain that turns farm tracks slippery, in which case we wait for them to dry. On windy days dust gets everywhere, so no wood or fabric surface travels uncovered.

Prices for furniture moving from Riyadh to Qassim

Load size From Example
A room or a few items SAR 750 an employee relocating alone to Unaizah, or a university student
2–3 bedroom apartment SAR 1,120 a young family from a Riyadh apartment to a house in Al Bukayriyah
4–5 rooms SAR 1,680 a larger family home with two sitting rooms
Villa SAR 2,150 two-storey villa with annex and yard furniture

Al Rass and the further towns can be slightly higher than Unaizah because of the extra distance, as can a farm far from paved road. Add-ons in Qassim start from SAR 185 for a hoist, SAR 370 for kitchen dismantling and installation, SAR 115 per AC unit, SAR 140 per room for carpentry and SAR 140 for VIP packing.

Splitting one load between two towns

A common Qassim request: part of the furniture goes to the family’s new house in Unaizah, part to the parents’ home in Al Mithnab or Al Badaye. One trip can do both. We load the second stop’s items at the front of the truck and the first stop’s near the doors, colour-tagging each group. The extra stop is priced on the distance between the towns and usually costs far less than a separate trip.

Packing for the distance

Four to five hours on a highway will shift anything that is not secured, so packing starts with dismantling. Beds and wardrobes come apart, each piece’s screws bagged and taped to it. Wood gets bubble wrap with extra board on corners, mirrors and glass go between double card sheets, mattresses into sealed bags, rugs are rolled and tied, and majlis cushions folded and covered. Kitchenware is wrapped piece by piece in divided cartons, each labelled with town and room if the load is split.

Yard and annex furniture

Metal yard seating, dismantled shades, barbecue gear and empty water tanks are wrapped separately from indoor furniture because their sharp edges scratch wood. They go in last, since they usually come off first into the yard.

Loading and load securing

Heavy appliances and dismantled wardrobes go against the front wall, mattresses act as a buffer, then heavy cartons, then sofas and majlis pieces, with light items above. Every row is strapped tight and blankets separate the pieces. On split loads we place a clear divider between the two groups so nothing comes off at the wrong house.

Full truck or shared load?

A full home gets its own truck. A few items can join a Qassim-bound truck, and because Riyadh–Qassim runs are frequent this works well. It costs less, and delivery follows the truck’s order of towns.

Closed or open?

Indoor furniture always goes closed. An open truck is fine for farm equipment, light building materials or dust-proof yard furniture, but not for wood, fabric or appliances.

Pickup across Riyadh

We collect from the north (Al Malqa, Al Yasmin, An Narjis, Al Qairawan), the east (An Naseem, Al Rawdah, Al Munsiyah), the west (Al Uraija, Dhahrat Laban, Laban), the south (Al Shifa, Al Suwaidi, Al Aziziyah) and the centre (Al Malaz, Al Murabba). The north is closest to the Qassim road; for the south we start earlier to clear the city before traffic.

Sending urgent items by air

If you need documents, a computer or a box of clothes in Qassim before the truck arrives, they can go as domestic air cargo from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh to Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Qassim within one to two days, then on by road to Unaizah, Al Rass or wherever you are. Pricing is on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, with volumetric weight = length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000; a 60 × 40 × 40 cm carton counts as about 16 kg. The furniture itself goes by road.

Worked example: Al Yasmin to Unaizah and Al Mithnab

A family in a small villa in Al Yasmin, Riyadh, has moved to a new house in Unaizah and wants one bedroom set and a spare majlis sent to the grandparents in Al Mithnab. The load: three bedrooms, two majlis sets, a dining table, an aluminium kitchen, two fridges, a washer, three AC units, yard seating and around fifty cartons.

  1. Quote: after photos, priced on the 4–5 room tier from SAR 1,680, plus the kitchen from SAR 370, AC from SAR 115 per unit, and an extra stop in Al Mithnab.
  2. Loading: the crew started at 6:30 a.m.; Al Mithnab items went in front with red tags, Unaizah items behind.
  3. Road: departure before noon, arrival in Unaizah mid-afternoon.
  4. Unaizah: most of the load came off; bedrooms and kitchen were assembled, AC units left for the technician.
  5. Al Mithnab: the bedroom and majlis were delivered and set up the next morning.

Included and extra

  • Included: crew, standard dismantling and assembly, basic packing, closed truck, transport, unloading into rooms.
  • Extra: kitchens, AC units, hoist, a second town stop, VIP packing, storage, post-move cleaning.
  • Insurance on valuables: on request, for the pieces you specify.

Storage in Qassim

If your Qassim home is still being finished, we keep the furniture packed until it is ready, then deliver and assemble. This often happens to people building in a new plan in Unaizah or Al Rass who must leave their Riyadh apartment first. Cost depends on volume and duration.

Preparation checklist

  • Give the town and district, or a farm map pin.
  • Photograph every room, the yard, annex, roof and store room.
  • For a two-town load, sort and mark items before the crew arrives.
  • Check power and water at the new home.
  • Keep gold, documents, medicines and official papers with you.
  • No full gas cylinders, generator fuel or farm pesticides with the furniture.

Mistakes we see on Qassim moves

  • Asking a price for “Qassim” without naming the town.
  • Leaving yard and annex furniture out of the photos.
  • Not checking the farm gate width.
  • Loading for two towns without labels.
  • Taking a very low offer with no packing or dismantling and paying for repairs later.

Steps

  1. Send photos, town and district via the quote page.
  2. Get an itemised quote including stops and add-ons.
  3. The crew dismantles, packs, labels and splits the load if needed.
  4. The load is strapped and the truck leaves.
  5. Unloading and assembly in your town, with a carton check.

From Qassim back to Riyadh

We also move in the other direction, from Unaizah, Al Rass, Al Mithnab, Al Bukayriyah and Al Badaye to Riyadh, often combining small loads from several towns on one truck. If you are heading on to Hail or the north, the road passes through Qassim anyway. Request a price on the quote page.
