Furniture Moving from Riyadh to Jubail | Dismantling, Packing & Closed Trucks to Industrial City and Old Jubail
Al Saif handles furniture moving from Riyadh to Jubail as one door-to-door job. We dismantle your bedrooms and wardrobes in Riyadh, pack every piece for a long highway run, load a closed truck, and reassemble everything at your new home, whether that is in Jubail Industrial City (Al Fanateer, Al Deffi, Al Huwailat, Jalmudah) or in Old Jubail. The road distance is roughly 490 km, about 5 to 6.5 hours of truck driving. A single room or small load starts from SAR 470, and a 2–3 bedroom apartment from SAR 840. Send photos of your items through our quote request page and we will confirm the price after a free review.
🏭 Jubail is really two towns
- Jubail Industrial City: planned districts run by the Royal Commission, mostly villas, duplexes and low-rise flats. Some company compounds require a gate permit for the truck.
- Old Jubail: older neighbourhoods near the sea, some narrow streets and walk-up buildings with no lift.
- Between them: around 15–20 minutes by car, so we confirm your exact address before the truck leaves Riyadh.
- From: SAR 470 one room, SAR 840 for 2–3 rooms, SAR 1,300 for 4–5 rooms, SAR 1,850 for a villa.
Furniture moving from Riyadh to Jubail: the quick answer
Most people who call about this route are relocating for a job at one of the plants or companies around Jubail. They want to know three things: the cost, the time, and whether the furniture arrives in one piece. In practice, the crew arrives in Riyadh early in the morning and spends three to six hours dismantling, packing and loading, depending on the size of the home. The truck then heads east for about 490 km. If loading finishes early, we unload the same evening; for a large home we deliver and assemble the next morning.
Distance is only part of the price. The volume of furniture, the truck size, the floor and lift situation at both ends, and whether there is a fitted kitchen to take down all count. So we give you a starting figure, then fix it once we have seen photos or visited.
The road east
The truck leaves eastern Riyadh on the Riyadh–Dammam highway, crosses the Dahna sand belt roughly an hour and a half out, and passes near Abqaiq. At the outskirts of Dammam we stay out of the city and turn north onto the Dhahran–Jubail expressway, or the Abu Hadriyah road depending on where you live and the traffic. From there it is about another hour to Jubail.
Fuel stations and rest areas are spaced regularly along the highway. Our driver stops at least once mid-way to rest and to re-check the straps. You will also pass routine traffic checkpoints; they need nothing from you, since the truck travels with its own paperwork.

Distances and driving times
| From Riyadh to | Approx. distance | Truck driving |
|---|---|---|
| Old Jubail | about 490 km | 5 – 6 hours |
| Jubail Industrial City | about 500 – 510 km | 5.5 – 6.5 hours |

| Qatif (on the way) | about 430 km | 4.5 – 5.5 hours |
| Dammam | about 400 km | 4 – 5 hours |
These are times for a loaded truck, not a car, and loading and unloading are added to them.

Industrial City or Old Jubail: why it matters on delivery day
This is what makes Jubail different from a move to Dammam or Khobar. The Industrial City is fully planned: wide streets, proper parking, mostly villas and duplexes. Driving in is easy, but several company compounds want a gate permit in the resident’s name, or only allow trucks at set hours. Before the move, ask your housing office two questions: do we need a permit, and what hours are allowed?
Old Jubail is older and closer to the water. You will find three- and four-storey buildings without lifts and inner streets that are tight for a big truck. There we park at the nearest safe spot and use trolleys, or bring the winch if the façade allows it. Coastal humidity is another reason we like boxes opened and furniture unwrapped soon after arrival.
Where we deliver and collect
| Area | Examples | Delivery note |
|---|---|---|
| Jubail Industrial City | Al Fanateer, Al Deffi, Al Huwailat, Jalmudah | Wide roads; some compounds need a permit |
| Old Jubail | Al Dabab, Ghirnatah, Al Hamra, Al Shati | Walk-ups and narrower streets |
| North of Jubail | Ras Al Khair area | Extra distance priced in the quote |
| Riyadh pickup | Al Malqa, Al Narjis, Hittin, Al Rawdah, Al Naseem, Al Shifa, Al Suwaidi | East Riyadh is closest to the Dammam road |
Packing for five hours of highway
Constant vibration on a long run exposes weak packing fast. Mirrors and glass go in corner-protected cardboard and travel upright. Sofas get film first, then a blanket, so the fabric never rubs the truck wall. Crockery is wrapped piece by piece in small boxes that one person can lift. TVs go back in their original boxes when you still have them. Screws and fittings go into numbered bags taped to the furniture they belong to, so nothing goes missing at assembly time in Jubail.

Loading, securing, and choosing the truck
We load like building a wall: heavy items low and against the cab (fridge, washer, flat-packed wardrobes), then mattresses and sofas, then light boxes last, with straps tightened after every row so nothing shifts under braking.
Closed or open? Closed, always, for this route. The highway crosses sandy stretches and dust gets in anywhere; in summer the sun sits on the load for hours. An open truck is fine for garden furniture or warehouse gear, not for sofas and bedrooms.
Full truck or shared load? A shared load travels with another customer heading east and can lower the cost for one room or a few items, with a less flexible arrival time. A full home gets its own truck: load, drive, deliver, no other stops.

Dismantled in Riyadh, assembled in Jubail
The same crew that takes your furniture apart in Riyadh puts it back together in Jubail. Whoever dismantled the wardrobe knows where every panel went. We set up beds first, so the family has somewhere to sleep if it gets late, then wardrobes, then the rest. If your new Industrial City home already has a kitchen supplied by your employer, tell us early; there is no point refitting your old one, and we can store it instead.
Weather on the Eastern Province road
Summer heat is the main factor. We prefer to load at first light and drive before the midday sun, or leave in the late afternoon. Some days bring wind-blown sand around the Dahna, and our driver slows down or pulls over when visibility drops. Near the coast, humidity runs high in summer and early-morning haze can appear at certain times of year, so the last hour into Jubail is driven carefully.
Sending urgent items by air
Sometimes you need documents, a laptop or a few clothes in Jubail before the furniture arrives, especially if your job starts first. We can send two or three boxes as domestic air cargo from King Khalid International in Riyadh to King Fahd International in Dammam, then on to your Jubail address, usually within 1–2 days. Air cargo is charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, where volumetric weight is L × W × H in cm ÷ 6000. A 60 × 50 × 40 cm box counts as 20 kg even if it weighs 8 kg, so small, tightly packed boxes are the smart choice. The furniture itself always goes by road.
A real example: Al Malqa to Al Fanateer
A family of four lived in a second-floor three-bedroom flat in Al Malqa, north Riyadh, with a lift too small for wardrobes. The father had taken a job in Jubail Industrial City, and their new home was a duplex in Al Fanateer. The load: two bedrooms, a kids’ room, a majlis, dining table, fridge, washer, an aluminium kitchen, three split ACs and about 35 boxes. We sent a closed truck with four movers and a kitchen and AC technician. We started at 7 am, finished loading before noon, reached Al Fanateer by late afternoon, unloaded and assembled the beds before sunset, and finished the kitchen and ACs the next morning. Pricing started from SAR 840 for the apartment, plus kitchen from SAR 370 and ACs from SAR 115 each, so about SAR 1,555 as a starting point before inspection.
Checklist before moving day
- Ask your Jubail housing office about truck permits and allowed hours.
- Book the lift in your Riyadh building if required.
- Empty and defrost the fridge the day before; leave the door open.
- Disconnect and drain the washing machine.
- Pack a first-night bag: clothes, medicines, chargers, documents.
- Photograph TV and router cables before unplugging.
- Name the person receiving in Jubail if you travel after the truck.
Keep out of the truck: gold and jewellery, cash, passports, contracts and official papers, daily medicines. We also do not carry gas cylinders or flammables such as fuel or large aerosol cans; a truck box in summer is no place for them.
Insurance, storage and common mistakes
For valuable pieces such as antiques, expensive electronics or imported furniture, insurance can be arranged on request, with an agreed list and values before loading. If you arrive before your Jubail home is ready, we offer short or long-term storage and deliver when you call.
- Booking without checking the compound permit, then waiting at the gate for hours.
- Choosing an open truck to save a little and receiving dusty sofas.
- Leaving clothes inside wardrobes, which makes them heavy and prone to breaking.
- Not mentioning the floor or missing lift in Old Jubail.
- Accepting a very low offer that excludes dismantling, then paying the difference on arrival.
How it works
- Send photos or request a survey via the quote page.
- We send the price, what it includes, the date and the truck type.
- The crew arrives in the morning to dismantle, pack and load.
- The truck travels; you stay in touch with the driver.
- We unload in Jubail, assemble, and place each piece where you want it.
- You check everything and sign for delivery.
Jubail back to Riyadh
Many Jubail contracts end with the family heading back to Riyadh, and we run the route in that direction too, with the same method. We also cover Dammam, Khobar, Qatif, Al Ahsa and the rest of the Kingdom.
