Muasasat Al Saif handles furniture moving from Riyadh to NEOM end to end: we dismantle and pack at your apartment or villa, load a closed truck, drive roughly 1,500 km through Qassim, Hail, Tayma and Tabuk, then drop down to the coast and reassemble everything at your new place. Prices start from SAR 1,600 for a room or small load and from SAR 1,850 for a two- or three-bedroom apartment, rising with volume, floor and distance. Send photos through our quote request page for an itemised price.

Furniture moving from Riyadh to NEOM: the quick answer
The truck needs two days on the road. No driver should push sixteen hours straight with a full house behind him, and the last stretch after Tabuk winds through hills. Add a packing day in Riyadh and an unloading and assembly day at the other end and you are looking at three to four days in total.
Cost starts at SAR 1,600 for a bedroom set and some boxes and goes up to villas, which start from SAR 6,950. The gap is mostly about truck size (sometimes two trucks), crew size and extra days.
One thing makes this route different from Riyadh–Jeddah or Riyadh–Dammam: some housing and work sites in the area need an entry permit arranged in advance by the receiver’s employer. We don’t issue that permit, but we send you the driver’s details and plate number early so your employer can process it and the truck isn’t held at the gate.
Prices by home size
These figures include the closed truck, loading and unloading. Your final price comes after we see photos or do a free survey in Riyadh.
| Load | From | Typical case |
|---|---|---|
| Room or small load | SAR 1,600 | Single employee with a bedroom, desk and boxes |
| 2–3 bedroom apartment | SAR 1,850 | Small family with majlis, kitchen and main appliances |
| 4–5 bedroom home | SAR 2,800 | Family with several bedrooms and two living rooms |
| Villa | SAR 6,950 | Full villa including annexes and garden furniture |
Heavy pieces such as American fridges or solid-wood wardrobes, stairs without a lift in Riyadh, AC removal and a second delivery address all push the price up. Winch hoisting in Riyadh starts from SAR 185 and AC dismantling from SAR 115 per unit.
Included and extra
- Included: closed truck, fuel, loading, unloading, standard bed and wardrobe dismantling and assembly, basic wrapping.
- Extra: kitchen dismantling and fitting, AC units, winch, extra protection for glass and antiques, storage in Tabuk, split delivery.
- Not ours to arrange: the site access permit, which comes from the receiver’s employer.
The road to Sharma, Gayal and Duba

The truck leaves Riyadh heading north on the Qassim highway, past Sudair and Al Majmaah, reaching the Buraidah area after roughly 350 km. From there it heads to Hail, then takes the long open desert stretch to Tayma along the edge of the Nafud, and on to Tabuk, about 1,300 km from Riyadh.
Tabuk is usually our overnight point and the last large city before the destination. After it the road heads west towards the Red Sea through high ground and bends, so we drive it in daylight. Duba sits on the coast, with Sharma and Gayal a short distance away; the exact housing location decides the final approach.
Fuel and rest areas are spread along the way at Buraidah, Hail, Tayma and Tabuk, and there are the usual highway security checkpoints. The driver carries the truck papers and a load list; nothing is needed from you there.
Distance and driving time
| Riyadh to | Approx. distance | Truck driving time |
|---|---|---|
| Buraidah (Qassim) | about 350 km | 4 hours |
| Hail | about 620 km | 6–7 hours |
| Tayma | about 1,050 km | 11–12 hours |
| Tabuk | about 1,300 km | 13–15 hours |
| Duba | about 1,480 km | 16–17 hours |
| Sharma and Gayal | roughly 1,500–1,550 km | 16–18 hours |
A realistic timeline
- Day 1: crew arrives in the morning, dismantles, wraps and labels; loading finishes in the afternoon and the truck leaves that evening or at dawn.
- Day 2: Riyadh to Tabuk with fuel and rest breaks, night in Tabuk.
- Day 3: down to Duba, Sharma or Gayal, permit check at the gate, unloading and assembly.
- Spare day: kept in reserve for villas or two delivery addresses.
Packing and securing for 1,500 km

Packing that works across town in Riyadh isn’t enough here. Every wooden piece gets a moving blanket and tight stretch film, table edges and mirrors get cardboard corners, and sofas are wrapped in heavy plastic because fine desert dust finds its way even into closed trucks. Mirrors and glass travel upright in crates or double cardboard, never flat under other items. Washing machine drums are locked, and the fridge is emptied and dried the day before so moisture doesn’t build up inside.
In the truck, heavy items go low and towards the front, each row is strapped, and gaps are filled with mattresses and cushions so nothing shifts on the bends after Tabuk. Every box is labelled with the room it is going to in the new home, not the room it came from, which saves real time on arrival.
Full truck or shared load?
A full truck is yours alone: it leaves on schedule and drives straight to you. That’s the normal choice for apartments and villas. A shared load suits one room or a few items, and costs less because space is split with another customer heading to the area or to Tabuk. The catch is that departure waits for the truck to fill, which can add two days or more. If your start date is close, a full truck is the safer option even at a higher price.
Why a closed truck
An open truck with a net and tarp may be fine between two districts, but on the Hail–Tayma road it exposes furniture to hard sun, dust and wind-blown sand, and in winter to northern rain and cold nights around Tabuk. A closed box protects wood from cracking, fabric from fading and electronics from grit. We don’t move full households to this area on open trucks.
Pickup in Riyadh and delivery on arrival

We collect across Riyadh: Al Malqa, Al Narjis, Hittin, Al Yasmin, Al Arid and Al Qirawan in the north; Al Rawdah, Al Naseem, Al Rayyan, Al Yarmouk and Qurtubah in the east; Al Suwaidi, Dhahrat Laban, Tuwaiq and Namar in the west; Al Shifa, Badr, Al Aziziyah and Al Dar Al Baida in the south; and Olaya, Al Malaz, Al Sulaimaniyah and Al Wurud in the centre. Where a narrow street can’t take a big truck, we shuttle with a small dyna to a main road. High floors without a lift get the winch.
At the other end we deliver in Duba, Sharma and Gayal, to employee housing and compounds named by the employer, and in Tabuk if it is a temporary stop for you. Beds and wardrobes are taken apart with their screws bagged and taped to each piece, and kitchens are dismantled and refitted on request after we check the new kitchen’s measurements from a photo or plan.
Insurance, storage and weather
Valuable antiques or imported furniture can be insured on request, with the value agreed before loading. If your housing handover or permit is delayed, we suggest short-term storage in Tabuk or in Riyadh rather than paying a truck to wait; storage is priced separately by size and duration.
Summer heat between Qassim and Tayma means dawn starts and slower midday driving. Sand near the Nafud sometimes cuts visibility, and the driver waits it out at the nearest rest area. Winter nights in Tabuk are cold, with fog or rain possible on the high ground towards the coast, so that section is never driven at night. On the coast humidity is higher than in Riyadh, so we leave wood wrapped until it is indoors.
Sending urgent items by air
Furniture always goes by road, but some things can’t wait three days: work documents, a work computer, or a couple of boxes of children’s clothes. We send these as domestic air cargo from King Khalid Airport in Riyadh to Tabuk airport, or to an airport nearer your destination if it has a suitable cargo service, usually within one to two days. Air cargo is charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, where volumetric weight = length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000. A 60 × 50 × 50 cm box counts as 25 kg even if it weighs 9 kg, so small, full boxes are cheaper than big half-empty ones. Ask for the air price on the same quote request.
Worked example: Al Narjis to Sharma
An engineer moving for work, with his wife and two children, from a three-bedroom second-floor apartment with a lift in Al Narjis. Load: master bedroom, kids’ room with two beds, three-piece majlis, six-seat dining table, fridge, washer, cooker, three split ACs and around forty boxes. One medium closed truck to himself, four crew in Riyadh and an assembly team on arrival; one day packing, two days on the road with a night in Tabuk, half a day to unload and assemble. He sent the driver and plate details to his employer four days ahead and the permit was ready on arrival. Price from SAR 1,850, plus AC removal from SAR 115 per unit and two boxes of work papers by air.
Checklist and things to keep with you
- Request the site permit from the receiver’s employer early and pass on our truck details as soon as you get them.
- Confirm the exact address and map pin, plus a contact who can receive if you are not there.
- Empty and dry the fridge a day before; bag cables and remotes together.
- Book the lift or loading bay if your Riyadh building requires it.
- Keep a two-day bag in your car: clothes, chargers, medicines and documents.
- Never put gold, cash, passports, contracts, daily medicines, gas cylinders or flammables in the truck.
Common mistakes
- Booking before the permit is confirmed, then paying for the truck to wait.
- Moving everything when the employer’s housing is already part-furnished; ask first.
- Taking a low offer on an open truck and losing the saving on the first cracked piece.
- Leaving a heavy safe or gym machine out of the photos; it changes the truck and crew.
How it works
- Send photos or an item list through the quote page.
- Get an itemised price and day plan, or a free survey in Riyadh.
- Confirm the date; we send truck and driver details for the permit.
- Packing and loading day in Riyadh.
- The drive, with regular updates and a night in Tabuk.
- Gate check, unloading, assembly and removal of packing waste.
Moving back to Riyadh
We also move from Duba, Sharma, Gayal and Tabuk back to Riyadh when a contract ends, with the same steps in reverse and the employer coordinating site access. If your move is coming up, sort the permit first, then send your photos through the quote request page and we will plan the days so your home is there when you need it.
