Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Al Baha | One-Day Moves for Small Loads with Dismantling, Packing & Assembly
Al Baha is the closest of the southern highland cities to Jeddah, about 400 km away, so at Muasasat Al Saif we can often finish small jobs of furniture moving from Jeddah to Al Baha in a single day: load in Jeddah in the morning, drive 5–6.5 hours with rest stops, and unload and reassemble in Al Baha before nightfall. Larger homes take two days. We dismantle, pack, load, transport and rebuild; a room or small load starts from SAR 930 and a 2–3 bedroom flat from SAR 1,400, rising with volume, floor and distance. Send photos via the quote request page for your final price.
🌲 Jeddah → Al Baha: the shortest southern run
- Distance: about 400 km via Taif, similar via Al Lith and Al Makhwah.
- Driving: 5–6.5 hours for a loaded truck with stops.
- Job length: one day for a room or small flat, two days for large flats and villas.
- From: SAR 930 (room), SAR 1,400 (2–3 rooms), SAR 2,500 (4–5 rooms), SAR 3,700 (villa).
- Delivery: Al Baha districts, Baljurashi, Al Mandaq, Al Aqiq, Al Makhwah and Qilwah.
When can the move be done in one day?
If it is a room or a small flat, the Jeddah lift is available and the Al Baha home is ready, we start loading at 7 am, leave around midday, reach Al Baha before sunset and set up beds and wardrobes that evening. Three bedrooms or more, or a kitchen to dismantle, means loading on one day and leaving the next morning, because reaching mountain roads in the dark is not worth the risk.
Furniture moving from Jeddah to Al Baha: via Taif or up the Al Baha pass?

Via Taif and the highland road
The truck climbs to Taif, normally by the Al Sail road rather than the Al Hada pass, then heads south on the highland road linking Taif to Al Baha, past villages, farming centres and regular fuel stations, entering Al Baha from the north. This is the usual road for loaded trucks: after Taif the gradient is gentle.
Via the coast and the Al Baha pass
The other option runs south along the coast to Al Lith, then east to Al Makhwah in the Tihama lowlands and up the Al Baha pass with its tunnels and hairpins. The distance is similar and it suits deliveries to Al Makhwah, Qilwah or Tihama villages, but it is a steep climb for a heavy truck and fog can sit on it, so we only take a full villa load that way when both truck and weather allow. On either road the driver stops once or twice to rest and check straps, and passes the usual regional checkpoints with the inventory on board.
Prices from Jeddah to Al Baha
| Load | From | Vehicle | One day? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Room or small load | SAR 930 | Small dyna | Usually |
| 2–3 bedroom flat | SAR 1,400 | Closed dyna | Sometimes |
| 4–5 rooms | SAR 2,500 | Large dyna or truck | Two days |
| Villa | SAR 3,700 | Large truck | Two days or more |
Prices cover dismantling, standard packing, loading, transport, unloading and reassembly. Charged separately: a winch in Jeddah from SAR 280 and in Al Baha from SAR 370 (setting up on sloping streets takes time), AC removal and refit from SAR 140 per unit, and premium packing from SAR 140. The final figure depends on where in the region you are going, whether the house sits on a slope with long stone steps, how many heavy pieces there are, stairs in Jeddah, and whether you choose a private or shared load.
Distances within the Al Baha region
| Destination | Approx. from Jeddah | Truck time |
|---|---|---|
| Al Baha | about 400 km | 5–6.5 hours |
| Al Mandaq | about 350 km via Taif | 4.5–6 hours |
| Al Aqiq | about 420 km | 5.5–7 hours |
| Baljurashi | about 430 km | 6–7 hours |
| Al Makhwah and Qilwah | about 330–380 km via Al Lith | 4.5–6 hours |
Packing for mountain bends

The trip is short, but the bends come one after another and each one shifts the load a little, so a shorter distance is no excuse for lighter packing. Every wooden piece is wrapped in a blanket or cardboard before stretch film, mattresses go into fully sealed bags because Al Baha fog and rain can catch them during unloading, glass and mirrors stand upright with protected corners, and crockery is wrapped piece by piece with heavy items at the bottom. A “first night” box with blankets, a kettle, cups and chargers rides at the back; Al Baha nights are cool for much of the year.
Loading in Jeddah, unloading in Al Baha

Appliances and dismantled wardrobes at the front, sofas next, boxes last, with straps per row and blankets between layers. In Jeddah we use the lift or a winch depending on the building. In Al Baha many homes have one or two floors with outdoor stairs, and some village houses on slopes cannot be reached by a large truck, so we transfer to a small dyna or wanet at the start of the lane. Closed trucks carry anything with fabric, wood or electronics, since rain arrives suddenly; an open truck with a tarp is only for garden furniture, metal and plastic tanks. A full load leaves on your date; a shared load suits a university student or a transferred teacher with one room and some boxes, and leaves once the truck fills.
Pickup and delivery areas
In Jeddah we collect from Al Faisaliyah, Al Safa, Al Waha, Al Rabwah, Mushrifah, Al Rehab, Al Nuzhah, Al Marwah, Al Thaghr, Al Jamiah, Quwaizah, Al Amir Fawaz, Al Muntazahat, Al Ajwad, Obhur and Al Yaqout. In Al Baha we deliver to Al Dhafir, Shahbah, Al Hawiyah, Al Baher, Al Hazim and the Souq area, and on to Baljurashi, Al Mandaq, Al Aqiq, Al Makhwah and Qilwah.
What is included, insurance and storage
Beds, wardrobes, tables and bookcases are dismantled and rebuilt, mirrors rehung and doors and drawers adjusted. The kitchen is removed in Jeddah and measured by the carpenter in the new home before fitting. Outside the base price: storage, insurance on valuables, post-move cleaning, and electrical or plumbing work, all on request. Insurance is agreed before loading; if your Al Baha house is still being finished, we store the wrapped furniture, priced by volume and time.
Weather between Jeddah and Al Baha
The truck leaves Jeddah heat and humidity and arrives in air that is mild in summer and cold in winter. Fog can cover stretches near Al Baha and on its pass, and rain usually comes in the afternoon, so on cloudy days we aim to arrive before late afternoon. In winter electronics are unloaded the same day rather than left in a cold truck overnight.
Sending urgent items by air
If you need certain boxes before the furniture, such as school papers, a week of clothes or a work computer, we send them as domestic air cargo from Jeddah to Al Baha Airport in Al Aqiq, arriving in one to two days. They are charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher (length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000). The furniture itself travels by road.
Worked example: a teacher from Al Amir Fawaz to Shahbah
A teacher transferred to Al Baha, living in a second-floor, two-room flat in Al Amir Fawaz: a bedroom, a sitting room, a small dining table, fridge, washer, one split AC and about 20 boxes. A small closed dyna, three movers, stairs only. Loading 7–11 am, departure via Taif, arrival in Shahbah before sunset, reassembly in the evening. From SAR 1,400, with AC removal and refit added on request.
Checklist and common mistakes
- Agree a handover time with your Al Baha landlord and confirm the power is on.
- Ask whether the road to the house is paved and whether it has steep slopes or tight turns.
- Empty and dry the fridge a day ahead; keep gold, cash, documents and medicines with you; no gas cylinders in the truck.
- Avoid light packing “because it is close”, same-day villa moves that end on mountain roads at night, and open trucks for mattresses in the rainy season.
Our steps: photos and addresses through the quote page, we choose vehicle and road and tell you whether it is a one- or two-day job, then packing and loading in Jeddah, the drive with an arrival update, and unloading and reassembly with a final check together.
