Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Hafar Al Batin | Long-Haul Packing, Secured Loads & Assembly
Jeddah to Hafar Al Batin crosses almost the whole Kingdom, from the west coast to the northeast, and that changes how we pack, load and even when we drive. Muasasat Al Saif handles furniture moving from Jeddah to Hafar Al Batin on this long route. We dismantle your furniture in Jeddah, whether you are in Obhur North, Al Rawdah, Al Safa, Al Samer or the southern districts, pack it for a trip of roughly 1,250 km, load it into a closed truck with every layer strapped, then unload and reassemble in Al Aziziyah, Al Rabwah, Al Khalidiyah or any Hafar Al Batin district. A room or small load starts from SAR 1,400 and a mid-size apartment from SAR 2,300, rising with volume, floors and extras. Start by sending photos through the quote request page.
🧭 From the Red Sea coast to Wadi Al Batin
- Distance: about 1,250 km, a little more depending on the road.
- Driving: 13–15 hours at the wheel, plus a proper rest halfway.
- Whole move: usually three days, from dismantling in Jeddah to assembly in Hafar Al Batin.
- From: SAR 1,400 room, SAR 2,300 apartment, SAR 3,500 four to five rooms, SAR 6,500 villa.
- Load: closed truck, secured for two days on the road.
Why this route is different
Most routes from Jeddah to central cities finish in one driving day. Hafar Al Batin is far enough that the driver needs a real rest halfway, not just a tea stop. So we plan three days: one for dismantling, packing and loading in Jeddah, a day and a night on the road with a driver rest, and one for unloading and assembly. Villas or homes with large kitchens may need an extra half day. Because the load stays in the box longer and crosses long desert stretches, packing and securing are stricter than on short routes, which is also why prices start higher than Jeddah to Riyadh.

Paying less on a long route
- Cut the volume: every old piece left in Jeddah frees space, and over 1,250 km space has a price.
- Shared load: for a room or a few items with flexible timing it costs less, but it waits for the truck to fill.
- Pack light boxes yourself: clothes, books, toys; leave glass and appliances to us.
- Avoid the end-of-month and school-start peaks if you can.
The route
The driver has two main options and chooses based on road conditions, the load and, for shared loads, other customers’ destinations. One goes north via Madinah, then Highway 60 to Qassim, then northeast to Hafar Al Batin. The other goes east on Highway 40 through As Sayl Al Kabir, Al Muwayh and Al Quwayiyah to Riyadh, then north on the road towards Hafar Al Batin. Distances are similar; the difference is in stations and traffic.

Either way, the long rest happens roughly halfway, in Qassim or Riyadh, with the truck locked at a known rest area. Checkpoints are routine and the load list and customer details are enough. The final stretch before Hafar Al Batin is open ground where wind can be strong, so the driver slows when dust rises.
| Destination | Approx. distance from Jeddah | Driving time |
|---|---|---|
| Hafar Al Batin | about 1,250 km | 13–15 hours |
| Al Qaisumah (about 15 km east) | about 1,265 km | 13–15 hours |
| Al Safiri (about 17 km west) | about 1,250 km | 13–15 hours |
| Al Dhibiyah (about 55 km south) | about 1,250–1,300 km | 13–16 hours |
| Umm Qulaib (about 70 km southeast) | about 1,300 km | 14–16 hours |
Add rest hours to these figures; arrival is usually on day two or the morning of day three.
The timeline
Day one, Jeddah: dismantling in the morning, careful packing, then layer-by-layer loading. A three-bedroom flat takes five to seven hours. In summer we prefer to leave in the late afternoon so the first stretch is driven in the evening.
Day two, the road: steady driving with short stops and a long rest halfway. We send you the truck’s approximate position and expected arrival.
Day three, Hafar Al Batin: we call hours ahead, unload in the morning where possible, assemble beds, wardrobes and tables, and arrange the rooms. Kitchens and ACs may take the rest of the day.
Packing for two days: coastal humidity to northern dryness
Furniture leaving Jeddah carries coastal moisture, while Hafar Al Batin is very dry, with summers that can pass 50°C and cold winters. Two days in a closed box means any moisture trapped under film will condense. So wood gets a cotton blanket or kraft paper first, film over it, never sealed on all sides. Leather and fabric are well covered because northern dust is fine and gets into the grain.

- Double-wall boxes filled to the rim; half-empty boxes collapse on a long trip.
- Appliances: fridge unplugged and dried a day ahead, washer drained, TVs between boards.
- Glass and mirrors: corner guards and bubble wrap, standing upright.
- Sofas: blanket then heavy film, with an extra cover on the side against the truck wall.
- Contents list: every box numbered, every number on a list that stays with you, with a copy for the driver.
Loading and securing for a long haul
Over 1,250 km the truck brakes, bumps and changes lanes hundreds of times. Heavy items go low and forward, heavy boxes above them and light ones on the upper layer, sofas in the middle among mattresses, mirrors upright against a padded wall. A cross strap goes on after every layer and gaps are filled with blankets so nothing has room to move. At the halfway rest the driver checks the straps before continuing.

A dedicated truck leaves on your day and opens only at your door. A shared load costs less but may wait days and stop in other cities first. We never use open trucks for household furniture here; two days under desert sun or in a sandstorm will ruin fabric and wood.
Pickup and delivery districts
In Jeddah we collect from the north (Obhur North and South, Al Shati, Al Zahra, Al Naeem, Al Muhammadiyah), the centre (Al Salamah, Al Rawdah, Al Andalus, Al Rehab, Al Baghdadiyah), the east (Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Samer, Al Hamdaniyah, Al Faisaliyah) and the south (Al Jamiah, Al Sanabel, Al Khumrah, Al Harazat, Quwaizah). In Hafar Al Batin we deliver to Al Aziziyah, Al Khalidiyah, Al Faisaliyah, Al Rawdah, Al Rabwah, Al Nayfiyah, Al Muhammadiyah, Al Baladiyah, Al Fayha, Al Rayyan, Al Nuzhah, Al Safa, Al Iskan, Abu Musa Al Ashari, Al Wadi, Al Nakheel, Al Jamiah and nearby centres such as Al Qaisumah. Streets in Hafar Al Batin are mostly wide, but some traditional houses have narrow stairs, so tell us if you are moving to an upper floor.
Dismantling and assembly
Every bed and wardrobe is dismantled and numbered in Jeddah with its screw bag attached, which is what makes assembly quick after two days on the road. Kitchens are an extra with the worktop protected by boards. ACs can be removed in Jeddah and installed on arrival; in summer we recommend doing them on arrival day, as a closed house heats up fast there.
Weather on the road and in Hafar Al Batin
Summer is the hardest season, with very high heat and sandstorms that can be severe in the northeast. We drive in the evening and night where possible and unload early. Winter in Hafar Al Batin is very cold and dawn fog can form on the road, so we drive by day. Spring is the gentlest time, when the land turns green after rain, and a comfortable window for moving if your dates are flexible.
Sending urgent items by air
Furniture always goes by truck, but a few urgent boxes, such as work or school papers or computers, can fly as domestic air cargo from King Abdulaziz International in Jeddah to Al Qaisumah Airport, which serves Hafar Al Batin, or via Riyadh or Dammam depending on available flights, arriving in one to two days. Charges use actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher: length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000. A 75 × 50 × 30 cm case counts as 18.75 kg even if it is lighter. Ask for the air price with your moving quote.
Insurance, storage and what stays out of the truck
On a route this long we recommend insuring valuable pieces; it is arranged on request after we list them and note their condition. If the truck arrives before the house is ready, we store the furniture in a closed warehouse on pallets, priced by time and space. Gold, cash, official documents, medicines, gas cylinders, fuel, open or frozen food and plants stay out of the truck.
Worked example: Al Samer to Al Rabwah
An employee transferred to Hafar Al Batin, living with his wife and three children in a ground-floor villa in Al Samer, Jeddah, moving to a first-floor home with a wide staircase in Al Rabwah: four bedrooms, majlis, living room, wooden kitchen, four ACs and about 75 boxes. Two carpenters and five movers finished loading by late afternoon. The truck left in the evening via Madinah and Qassim, the driver rested in Qassim and continued by day, arriving in the evening of day two. Unloading waited until the morning of day three with the truck locked overnight. We started with the ACs because of the heat, then the furniture, and the kitchen was done by Asr. The four-to-five-room tier starts from SAR 3,500, plus the kitchen from SAR 370 and the ACs per unit; the final price came after photos.
Checklist and common mistakes
- Sort furniture early; on this route volume clearly drives the price.
- Pack a bag for at least three days, since furniture rarely arrives before day three.
- Keep the box list with numbers, and defrost the fridge a day ahead.
- Confirm power and water at the Hafar Al Batin home and book the Jeddah lift and parking.
- Avoid expecting next-day delivery, choosing an open truck to save money, half-empty boxes, important papers in an unnumbered box and skipping insurance on valuable pieces.
How it works
