Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Buraidah | Careful Packing, Closed Trucks & Majlis Setup
Many of the people who call us from Jeddah say the same thing: they are going back home to Qassim. Muasasat Al Saif handles furniture moving from Jeddah to Buraidah from start to finish. We dismantle your furniture in Jeddah, whether you live in Obhur, Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Samer or the southern districts, pack it for the change from coastal humidity to Qassim’s dry air, load it into a closed truck for the roughly 980 km drive via Madinah, then unload and reassemble it in your Buraidah district. A room starts from SAR 560, a mid-size apartment from SAR 1,120 and a villa from SAR 1,850, rising with volume and floors. Start by sending room photos through our quote request page.
🏡 Your home, Jeddah to Buraidah
- Distance: about 980 km via Madinah.
- Driving: 11–13 hours for a truck including stops.
- Whole job: usually two days, three for large homes and kitchens.
- From: SAR 560 room, SAR 1,120 apartment, SAR 1,700 four to five rooms, SAR 1,850 villa.
- In Buraidah: crane from SAR 185, AC installation from SAR 115 per unit.
Time and price, plainly
The move runs in three stages. In Jeddah the crew needs anything from four hours for a small flat to a full day for a villa to dismantle, pack and load. The truck then drives 11 to 13 hours with rests, and we unload and assemble in Buraidah the next day. Realistically that is two days for most homes, with a third if there is a kitchen to take apart or more than one majlis.
The price is based on what you actually move, not just the number of rooms. A Jeddah home with a men’s majlis, a women’s majlis, a living room and a dining room is a very different load from an apartment with the same rooms and less furniture, which is why we ask for photos first.
Furniture moving from Jeddah to Buraidah: prices
| Size | From | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Room or small load | SAR 560 | A bedroom or a student’s things with basic appliances |
| Two- to three-bedroom apartment | SAR 1,120 | Dismantling, packing, transport, basic assembly |
| Four to five rooms | SAR 1,700 | Family home with two majlis and a dining room |

Extras in Buraidah: crane lift from SAR 185, bedroom assembly from SAR 140, kitchen dismantling and installation from SAR 370, AC from SAR 115 per unit. In Jeddah the crane starts from SAR 280 and AC removal alone from SAR 45. If you later need items shuttled between two houses inside Buraidah, a local dyna trip starts from SAR 280.
Why we drive via Madinah, not Riyadh
Going through Riyadh would add roughly 300 km. Instead the truck heads north from Jeddah on the Madinah expressway, uses the Madinah ring road without entering the centre, then follows Highway 60 northeast to Al Hanakiyah, about 108 km from Madinah. The road then enters western Qassim, passes near Uqlat As Suqur, approaches Al Badaye and Al Rass, and reaches Buraidah.

The stretch between Al Hanakiyah and the Qassim border is long and quiet with fewer stations, so the driver fuels up in Madinah or Al Hanakiyah. Inter-region checkpoints are routine and the load list is enough. Nafud sand lines parts of the road and can drift onto the tarmac on windy days, when the driver simply slows down.
| Destination | Approx. distance from Jeddah | Driving time |
|---|---|---|
| Madinah (about halfway) | about 420 km | 4.5–5.5 hours |
| Buraidah | about 980 km | 11–13 hours |
| Al Mulida (Qassim University and airport) | about 965 km | 11–12 hours |
| Unaizah | about 950–980 km | 11–13 hours |
| Al Bukayriyah | about 950 km | 11–12 hours |
If you are heading to Al Rass, Al Mithnab or Al Badaye instead, see our article on moving to the wider Qassim region; pricing is very close.
Buraidah districts we deliver to
Buraidah’s streets are mostly wide, which makes parking the truck at the door easy, but unloading depends on the type of housing. Newer villa districts such as Al Rayyan, Al Rehab, Al Akhdar and Al Muntazah have internal staircases and big majlis rooms, and the second floor sometimes needs a crane. Established districts like Al Safra, Al Fayziyah, Al Iskan, Al Nahdah and Al Khaleej have traditional houses and small blocks, mostly without lifts. Al Dahi and Al Jamieen hold many employee and student flats and unload quickly. Al Mulida and the farms and rest houses around the city can involve side roads where a smaller vehicle does the last stretch.
In Jeddah we collect from every side: the north (Obhur North, Al Shati, Al Naeem, Al Muhammadiyah), the centre (Al Salamah, Al Rawdah, Al Aziziyah), the east (Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Samer, Al Hamdaniyah) and the south (Al Jamiah, Al Sanabel, Al Khumrah). In old areas such as Al Balad and Al Ruwais a small vehicle shuttles items to the truck when the street is too narrow.
Packing Jeddah furniture for Qassim air
Jeddah furniture lives in high humidity most of the year, and the particleboard in wardrobes and bedroom sets absorbs some of it. Qassim is the opposite: dry, hot in summer and very cold on winter nights. Damp wood wrapped straight in film and driven for a full day traps condensation, so blankets or kraft paper go on first, film over them, and large wooden pieces are not sealed on every side.

- Floor majlis sets: back cushions and armrests in large fabric bags, mattresses folded into dry boxes.
- Carved gilt sofas: corner guards on the carving, then a blanket, then film.
- Glass and china: wrapped one by one, stood on edge, boxes filled tight.
- Dallah pots and brassware: paper then bubble wrap, because scratches show.
- Appliances: fridge unplugged and dried a day ahead, washer drained.
In Buraidah we unwrap indoors and give the wood a few hours before the final tightening.
Loading and the right truck
For household furniture on this distance we only recommend a closed truck; desert dust and sand find every gap and hours of sun on a tarp ruin fabric. Heavy items go low at the front, boxes are stacked by weight, sofas sit in the middle, mirrors and glass stand against a padded wall, and straps are tightened after every layer.

A shared load suits a room or a few items with flexible timing and costs less, but it leaves when the truck fills. A full home, a job start date or children starting school call for a dedicated truck that leaves on your day and opens only at your Buraidah door.
Dismantling and assembly
Bedrooms are dismantled in Jeddah with numbered parts and a screw bag per piece, then rebuilt in the rooms you choose. Kitchens are an extra, with the worktop protected by boards and small adjustments if the new walls differ. Many Buraidah homes have a large majlis, so we help lay out seating and rugs the way you want, and hang curtains or TVs on request.
Weather between Jeddah and Buraidah
Summer is hot along the whole route, so the truck leaves after Asr and reaches Buraidah in the morning for an early unload. Winter is very different from Jeddah: Qassim nights are cold, dawn fog appears, and rain can make farm tracks slippery. On those days we drive by daylight and delay unloading an hour or two in heavy rain, because wet furniture is worse than a short wait. During the date season, when Buraidah’s markets are busy and trucks crowd the roads, we schedule unloading early in the morning.
Sending urgent items by air
Work papers, school files or a computer can fly as domestic air cargo from King Abdulaziz International in Jeddah to Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Qassim in one to two days; furniture stays on the truck. Charges use actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, with volumetric weight = length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000. A 70 × 45 × 30 cm case counts as 15.75 kg. Use small, full boxes and ask for the air price with your moving quote.
Insurance, storage and what not to load
Valuables can be insured on request after we record their condition. If the Buraidah house is still under renovation, we store the furniture in a closed warehouse on pallets, priced by time and space. Jewellery, cash, official documents, medicines you need, gas cylinders, flammables and open food stay out of the truck.
Worked example: Al Marwah to Al Rayyan
A family returning to Buraidah after years in Jeddah, living on the first floor of a villa in Al Marwah: three bedrooms, a men’s majlis with a full floor seating set, living room, an eight-seat dining room, wooden kitchen and four ACs, moving to a two-storey villa in Al Rayyan. Two carpenters and five movers worked from morning to just before Maghrib and packed about 80 boxes, 12 for the majlis alone. The dedicated truck left at night via Madinah, arrived around noon the next day, and unloading waited until Asr. A crane lifted one large wardrobe to the second floor because the staircase was tight at the turn. The four-to-five-room tier starts from SAR 1,700, plus the kitchen from SAR 370, the crane from SAR 185 and ACs per unit; the final price came after photos.
Checklist and common mistakes
- Sort out what you will not take; some Jeddah furniture will not suit the new Buraidah house.
- Measure doors and stairs at the Buraidah end for large pieces.
- Keep documents, gold and medicines in a bag that travels with you.
- Book the Jeddah lift and truck parking with your building.
- Do not fold damp majlis mattresses into sealed plastic, choose an open truck to save a little, forget to ask about a crane for two-storey villas, or unload at midday in summer.
How booking works
- Send photos and both locations via the quote page.
- Get a quote with volume, truck, extras and date.
