Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Hail | Cold-Weather Packing, Closed Trucks & Assembly
Moving to Hail means your furniture leaves humid sea air for a city set between two mountain ranges, with cold winters and dry summers. Muasasat Al Saif handles furniture moving from Jeddah to Hail from any Jeddah district, from Obhur and Al Shati to Al Safa, Al Samer and the south. We dismantle, pack and load a closed truck, drive roughly 850 km via Madinah, then unload and reassemble in Al Naqrah, Barzan, Al Zubarah or any Hail district. A room starts from SAR 560, a mid-size apartment from SAR 1,120 and a villa from SAR 1,850, rising with volume and floors. For a price, send photos through the quote request page.
⛰️ To Hail, between Aja and Salma

- From: SAR 560 room, SAR 1,120 apartment, SAR 1,700 four to five rooms, SAR 1,850 villa.
- Note: Hail winter nights are cold, so we unload by day.
Furniture moving from Jeddah to Hail in two days
Day one is in Jeddah. The crew arrives in the morning, the carpenter starts on bedrooms and wardrobes, and the others pack boxes, appliances and sofas. A mid-size apartment takes five to seven hours; a large home can run until Maghrib. The truck then covers the road in 9–11 hours with stops. Day two is in Hail: we call before arrival, unload, assemble and arrange. A kitchen to dismantle and refit, or several AC units, can push the work into the morning of day three.
By road Hail is actually closer to Jeddah than Buraidah or Riyadh, which is why prices match those routes even though the northern road is quieter.
What does a Jeddah to Hail move cost?
| Load | From | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Room or a few items | SAR 560 | Student, single employee, transferred teacher |
| Two- to three-bedroom apartment | SAR 1,120 | Small family, with dismantling, packing and assembly |
| Four to five rooms | SAR 1,700 | Mid-size family with majlis and living room |
| Villa | SAR 1,850 | Confirmed after a visit or photos |
Extras in Hail: crane lift from SAR 185, bedroom assembly from SAR 140, kitchen dismantling and installation from SAR 370, AC from SAR 115 per unit. For local moves once you settle, a dyna starts from SAR 185 and a dabab between districts from SAR 45. In Jeddah the crane starts from SAR 280 and AC removal alone from SAR 45.
What changes the price: the real volume, the floors at both ends and whether a crane is needed, kitchens and heavy items such as steel safes or gym equipment, a dedicated truck versus a shared load, and how far the home is from central Hail, for example farms on the outskirts.
The road to Hail
The truck leaves Jeddah on the Madinah expressway, a busy dual carriageway with plenty of stations. At Madinah it uses the ring road without entering the central area, then heads northeast towards Hail. After Madinah the road is quieter and stations are further apart, so the driver fuels up before leaving the city. The road enters the Hail region from the southwest, where governorates such as Al Hait and Al Shamli lie, and then the Aja and Salma mountains that cradle Hail come into view.

Checkpoints are routine; household goods need nothing beyond the driver’s load list. Camels sometimes wander near the road at dawn and dusk, so we do not let drivers speed at night.
| Leg | Approx. distance | Driving time |
|---|---|---|
| Jeddah → Madinah | about 420 km | 4.5–5.5 hours |
| Madinah → Hail | about 430 km | 4.5–5.5 hours |
| Jeddah → central Hail | about 850 km | 9–11 hours |
| Jeddah → farms around Hail | about 870–900 km | 10–11 hours |
| Jeddah → Jubbah | about 950 km | 11–12 hours |
Hail’s climate and how we pack Jeddah furniture
This is what sets the route apart. Jeddah is humid almost all year; Hail is dry and high, and winter nights can drop close to freezing. Wood saturated with coastal moisture shrinks as it dries, and if it is sealed in film while damp, condensation forms under the wrap. So the layer touching the wood is a blanket or kraft paper, film goes outside, and the edges are left to breathe.

Cold matters too. Plastic casings on appliances and TVs become more brittle, and leather stiffens. In winter we unload by day and let appliances sit indoors for an hour or two before switching them on, especially fridges and screens.
- TVs: in their original box if you kept it, otherwise between boards with bubble wrap.
- Fridge: unplugged and dried a day ahead, rested for a few hours in Hail before use.
- China and glass: wrapped individually and stood on edge.
- Rugs and winter blankets: folded dry and kept easy to find; you will want them on the first cold night.
- Boxes: strong, full and numbered by room.
Loading and truck type
We use a closed truck between Jeddah and Hail. Heavy items go low at the front, boxes above by weight, sofas in the middle among mattresses, glass and mirrors upright against a padded wall, straps after every layer and cardboard between touching pieces.

Shared loads to Hail cost less but run less often and can wait days to fill; they suit a single room with no rush. A full home, or an employee with a fixed start date, needs a dedicated truck. We do not use open trucks for household furniture here: summer dust and sun, and winter cold and rain, are enough to ruin fabric and wood.
Pickup and delivery districts
We collect across Jeddah: the north (Obhur North and South, Al Shati, Al Zahra, Al Muhammadiyah, Al Naeem), the centre (Al Salamah, Al Rawdah, Al Aziziyah, Al Andalus), the east (Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Samer, Al Hamdaniyah) and the south (Al Jamiah, Al Sanabel, Al Khumrah, Al Harazat). In Hail we deliver to Al Naqrah, Al Wusaita, Salah Al Din, Barzan, Al Zubarah, Al Musayf, Al Badnah, Sidyan, Al Zahra, the farms and rest houses around the city, and other towns in the region on request. Some older streets near central Hail are narrow, so a smaller vehicle may handle the last stretch, and for farms we ask for a photo of the gate.
Dismantling and assembly
Bedrooms are dismantled in Jeddah with numbered parts and a screw bag tied to each piece, then rebuilt in the rooms you choose. Kitchens are an extra: upper cabinets come off first, the worktop is protected, and small adjustments are made if the new wall differs. AC units can be removed in Jeddah and installed in Hail on request, and many Hail families also ask us to hang heavy winter curtains.
Weather on the road and timing
Summer is hot between Jeddah and Madinah and the air gets a little lighter towards Hail. In summer we leave after Asr and arrive in the morning. In winter we drive by day where possible, since dawn fog can appear and rain makes side roads slippery. Spring can bring dusty winds; the driver stops when visibility drops. Demand rises with staff and teacher transfers before the school year and at month end, so book a week ahead in those periods.
Sending urgent items by air
If you need papers, a work laptop or children’s clothes in Hail before the truck arrives, we send them as domestic air cargo from King Abdulaziz International in Jeddah to Hail International Airport in one to two days. Furniture always goes by road. Charges use actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher: length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000, so a 60 × 40 × 40 cm box counts as 16 kg. Ask for the air price with your moving quote.
Insurance, storage and what travels with you
Valuables can be insured on request after we record their condition. If you arrive before the house is ready, we store everything in a closed warehouse on pallets, priced by time and space. Gold, cash, passports, deeds, daily medicines, gas cylinders, fuel heaters and open food stay out of the truck.
Worked example: Al Hamdaniyah to Al Naqrah
A teacher transferred to Hail, living with his family on the fourth floor in Al Hamdaniyah with a small lift, moving to a ground-floor home in Al Naqrah: master bedroom, two kids’ rooms, majlis, living room, aluminium kitchen, two ACs and about 50 boxes. The wardrobes did not fit the lift, so a crane brought them down and everything else went by lift. One carpenter and four movers finished loading after Asr. The truck left in the evening, rested in Madinah and reached Hail in the morning. It was a cold morning, so furniture went in first and the fridge waited two hours before being switched on. Assembly was done by early afternoon. The apartment tier starts from SAR 1,120, plus the Jeddah crane from SAR 280, the kitchen from SAR 370 and the two ACs; the final price came after photos.
Checklist and common mistakes
- Leave behind furniture you will not need.
- For a winter move, keep blankets and warm clothes in a bag that travels with you.
- Defrost the fridge a day ahead and book the Jeddah lift and parking.
- Make sure power, water and water heaters work in the Hail home.
- Avoid switching on a fridge straight after a cold unload, losing the winter blankets in an unnumbered box, sealing damp wood in film, booking a shared load against a fixed start date and forgetting to mention a farm address.
How it works
- Send photos and both locations via the quote page.
- Get a quote with volume, truck, extras and date.
- Dismantling, packing and loading in Jeddah, then the drive via Madinah with updates.
- Unloading and assembly in Hail; packing waste leaves with us.
We also move from Hail back to Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah, and from Jeddah to Buraidah, the Qassim towns, Riyadh, Al Kharj and the Eastern Province.
