Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Jazan | Humidity-Safe Packing and AC Removal & Installation along the Coastal Road

Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Jazan | Humidity-Safe Packing and AC Removal & Installation along the Coastal Road

From Jeddah’s humidity to Jazan’s heat and humidity, along a flat coastal road of about 700 km: that is the job Muasasat Al Saif takes on with furniture moving from Jeddah to Jazan. We dismantle your furniture and air conditioners, pack them in a way that suits a humid climate, load a closed truck that covers the road in about 8–10 hours with stops, then unload and reassemble in Jazan, putting the ACs back first. A room or small load starts from SAR 1,020, a 2–3 bedroom flat from SAR 1,680 and a villa from SAR 3,900, rising with volume, floors and distance. Send photos through the quote request page for the final price.

What makes a Jazan move different?

Most southern routes mean climbs, passes and fog. The Jazan road is flat all along the coast, and its challenges are different: heat and humidity at both ends, salty sea air that rusts metal, and the need for air conditioning from the first hour in the new home. So the plan rests on three things: packing that does not trap moisture, timing that avoids the midday sun, and an AC technician in the crew.

The coastal route

The truck leaves south Jeddah on the coastal road, passing Al Lith, Al Qunfudhah, Al Birk and Al Shuqaiq, then Ad Darb and Baish, and Sabya before entering Jazan. The road is almost flat with regular fuel stations and rest areas; drivers usually stop at Al Lith or Al Qunfudhah and again around Al Shuqaiq or Ad Darb. The truck passes the usual regional checkpoints with the inventory on board.

Via Taif and Abha, then down

A slower alternative climbs to Taif, runs through the mountains to Abha and then descends to the Tihama plain. We only use it for Jazan when part of the load is being dropped in Abha or Khamis Mushait, because bringing a heavy load down from the highlands is harder than staying on the coast from the start.

When do we leave?

Unlike mountain roads, evening driving on the coast is fine as long as the driver is rested. We often load in Jeddah in the morning and leave after mid-afternoon, covering most of the road in the cooler night hours and reaching Jazan in the morning before the heat builds, so unloading starts in bearable conditions.

Packing for heat and humidity

The usual mistake in humid regions is wrapping everything straight in plastic. Film on wood or fabric in hot, damp air traps water, and the piece arrives smelling musty or stained. On this route, wood gets a blanket or cardboard first and film over it, and we unwrap in Jazan the same day. Mattresses go into thick bags only when they are completely dry. Metal bed legs, table frames and handles are wrapped against salty air. Fridges and washers are emptied and dried a full day before, with doors left slightly open inside the wrapping. Electronics come off first in Jazan and rest in an air-conditioned room before being switched on, so any condensation can evaporate.

Loading in Jeddah, ACs before everything

In Jeddah we start by removing the ACs and capping the pipe openings, then the kitchen and wardrobes, then the rest. Indoor and outdoor AC units are loaded last so they are the first off in Jazan; the technician fits the bedroom and living-room units while the movers rebuild the beds, so the family never spends the first night without cooling. The rest is loaded as usual, heaviest at the front, with straps per row. Older Jeddah buildings without lifts in Al Hindawiyah or Al Nuzlah need a winch; in Jazan many homes are flats in two- or three-storey buildings or villas with wide entrances. We use closed trucks for all household furniture, since coastal dust and damp get into an open box even under a tarp. A full load leaves on your date; a shared load suits a room and a few boxes to Jazan, Sabya or Abu Arish.

Pickup and delivery areas

In Jeddah we collect from Al Hindawiyah, Al Nuzlah, Al Quraiyat, Ghulail, Al Thaghr, Al Jamiah, Quwaizah, Al Fadeylah, Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Nakheel, Al Shati, Al Sanabil, Al Ajwad, Al Harazat and Al Khumrah. In Jazan we deliver to Al Rawdah, Al Jabal, Al Shati, Al Safa, Al Qalaa, Al Suways, Al Noor and Mazharah, and across the governorates: Sabya, Abu Arish, Samtah, Baish, Ad Darb and Ahad Al Masarihah.

Included services, insurance and storage

We dismantle and rebuild bedrooms, wardrobes, tables and bookcases; kitchens are handled by a carpenter who measures the new space. ACs are priced per unit as above, and TV and curtain mounting is an add-on. Storage, insurance and post-move cleaning are outside the base price but available. Insurance on valuables is offered on request before loading. If your Jazan home is not ready, we store the wrapped furniture under cover and, in the humid air, loosen the outer film on wood during longer storage. Storage is priced by volume and time.

Weather and timing

Coastal summers are hot and humid by day and night, so the truck is never left parked in the sun and we leave after mid-afternoon whenever possible. Winter is much milder and a comfortable time for large villa moves, since unloading and assembly take longer. Dusty winds sometimes blow along the coast, so the box stays sealed. In Ramadan work starts early and stops before iftar, and the end of the month gets busy, so book early.

Sending urgent items by air

Clothes, school papers, a work computer and children’s things can travel ahead: we send them as domestic air cargo from Jeddah to King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport in Jazan, arriving in one to two days, charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher (length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000). The furniture goes by road.

Worked example: three rooms from Al Thaghr to Al Safa, Jazan

A third-floor flat with no lift in Al Thaghr: master bedroom, two children’s rooms, majlis, kitchen, fridge, washer, four split ACs and about 30 boxes. One closed dyna plus a winch for wardrobes and sofas from the balcony; four movers and an AC technician. Day one: ACs removed in the morning, packing and loading until mid-afternoon, then departure. Day two: arrival in Al Safa in the morning, two ACs fitted first, then beds and wardrobes, then the kitchen and remaining ACs. From SAR 1,680, plus the Jeddah winch and ACs per unit.

Checklist, mistakes and steps

  • Ask the technician to pump the refrigerant into the outdoor units before removal where possible.
  • Dry fridges, washers and mattresses fully before packing; make sure the Jazan wiring can run the ACs straight away.
  • Keep gold, cash, documents and medicines with you; no gas cylinders in the truck; carry light clothes and water for day one.
  • Avoid direct plastic on wood left for days, forgetting ACs in the quote, switching on electronics before condensation clears, and leaving a loaded truck in the Jeddah noon sun.

Our steps: send photos, the number of ACs and both addresses; we set the vehicle, crew and a heat-friendly departure time and send the price; we remove, pack and load in Jeddah; drive the coast with an arrival update; then fit ACs first, rebuild the rest and check everything with you.
