Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Najran | A Planned Two-Day Trip in a Closed Truck with Dust-Tight Packing

Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Najran | A Planned Two-Day Trip in a Closed Truck with Dust-Tight Packing

Najran is one of the furthest destinations we serve from Jeddah, about 900 km, so at Muasasat Al Saif we plan furniture moving from Jeddah to Najran as a two-day road trip rather than a one-day dash. We dismantle, pack and load in Jeddah; the truck covers roughly 11–14 hours of driving split over two days with a secure overnight stop; then we unload and reassemble in Najran. A room or small load starts from SAR 1,020, a 2–3 bedroom flat from SAR 1,850 and a villa from SAR 3,900, rising with volume, floors and distance. Send photos through the quote request page for the final price.

🏜️ Jeddah → Najran trip plan

  • Distance: about 900 km across the highlands, then down into the Najran valley.
  • Driving: around 11–14 hours, split over two days.
  • Whole job: usually three days: loading, road, arrival and assembly.
  • From: SAR 1,020 (room), SAR 1,850 (2–3 rooms), SAR 2,600 (4–5 rooms), SAR 3,900 (villa).
  • Extra care: dust-tight wrapping and a guarded overnight truck park.

Furniture moving from Jeddah to Najran: the quick answer

Load in Jeddah on the morning of day one, leave in the afternoon or at dawn on day two, and arrive in Najran on day two or three depending on volume and departure time. We never ask a driver to cover 900 km in one go: fatigue at the end of the road is what causes accidents and broken furniture, not the road itself. For large villa loads we may send two drivers who take turns, which saves around half a day.

The road from Jeddah to Najran

Via Taif, Bisha and Khamis Mushait

The standard route for heavy trucks: up to Taif by the Al Sail road, south-east through Turabah to Bisha, on to Khamis Mushait, then east towards Najran as the land drops gradually from the highlands into the valley. It has almost no sharp passes, plenty of fuel stations, and suits trailers.

Via the coast, Abha and Khamis Mushait

An option for mid-size trucks: south along the coast past Al Lith and Al Qunfudhah, up to Abha, then Khamis Mushait and Najran. Faster on the coast, but the climb needs a carefully balanced load, so we do not use it for big loads.

Where does the truck spend the night?

Usually in Bisha or Khamis Mushait, in a lit, guarded truck park with the box locked. Before setting off again the driver re-checks every strap, since anything that loosened on day one must be tightened before day two. Routine checkpoints between regions are passed with the inventory and owner details on board.

Prices from Jeddah to Najran

Size From Vehicle Approx. job length
Room or small load SAR 1,020 Shared load or small dyna 2–4 days, depending on when the shared truck fills
2–3 bedroom flat SAR 1,850 Full closed dyna 2–3 days
4–5 rooms SAR 2,600 Closed truck 3 days
Villa SAR 3,900 Large truck or trailer with crew 3 days or more for assembly

Prices include dismantling, standard packing, loading, transport, unloading and reassembly. Extras: a winch from SAR 280 in Jeddah and SAR 185 in Najran, AC removal and refit in Jeddah from SAR 140 per unit with installation in Najran from SAR 115, and premium packing from SAR 140. Two homes of the same size can differ in price: a single solid-wood wardrobe outweighs a whole room of particleboard, a fifth floor without a lift needs a winch, shared loads cost much less but may wait a day or two, and villages such as Habuna or Yadamah add distance.

Packing against dust and long vibration

The risk on this route is not only breakage but fine dust finding its way into every gap on a long trip that ends in a desert valley. So the wrapping is tighter: sofas get a full plastic cover taped shut on every side with cardboard on the arms; mattresses go into thick bags sealed at both ends; wood gets a blanket and then several layers of film so two days of vibration do not scratch it; electronics travel in original or padded cartons; and clothes are bagged inside their boxes so dust cannot reach them even if a box is opened.

A load built to last two days

We build the load as tight walls from front to back: heavy items low and forward, sofas next, boxes last, each wall strapped to the sides with blankets between. Gaps are filled with mattresses or light boxes so nothing shifts. In Jeddah we use the lift or a winch; in Najran most homes are villas and duplexes with wide entrances, though some older houses in the valley have narrow doors that we measure in advance. Closed trucks are mandatory here; open trucks carry only garden and metal furniture, because wind, dust and summer heat ruin fabrics and electronics. Shared loads are common on this route because the long distance spreads the cost; a full load is for families who want a fixed date or are moving a whole house.

Pickup and delivery areas

In Jeddah we collect from Al Hamdaniyah, Al Samer, Al Yaqout, Al Bawadi, Al Naeem, Al Marjan, Al Khalidiyah, Al Aziziyah, Al Waziriyah, Madain Al Fahd, Al Khumrah, Al Ajwad, Al Waha, Al Naseem, Al Rawabi and Al Fadeylah. In Najran we deliver to Al Faisaliyah, Aba Al Saud, Al Fahd, Al Shurfah, Al Mukhayyam, Al Jamiah, Al Nahdah, East Airport and Al Ukhdood, and on to Habuna, Badr Al Janub, Yadamah, Thar and Khubash.

What is included, insurance and storage

Bedrooms, wardrobes and tables are dismantled, their screws bagged by item, and rebuilt in Najran with doors adjusted. A carpenter removes the kitchen in Jeddah and refits it after measuring in Najran. TV and curtain mounting and AC installation are add-ons; storage, insurance and post-move cleaning are not part of the base price. On a trip this long we recommend insurance on valuables, available on request and agreed before loading. If your Najran home is not ready, we store the wrapped furniture, priced by volume and duration.

Weather between Jeddah and Najran

Jeddah humidity and heat, then relative cool in the highlands between Taif and Khamis Mushait, then drier air in Najran: hot summer days, cold winter nights. Dusty winds sometimes blow on the road and in the valley, so we avoid opening the box in strong wind and delay unloading until it calms. In summer the truck is not left standing in the sun, and unloading in Najran happens in the morning or after mid-afternoon.

Sending urgent items by air

Because the furniture spends two days on the road, many customers send a few boxes ahead: clothes, official papers, work tools, children’s things. We ship them as domestic air cargo from Jeddah to Najran Airport, arriving in one to two days, charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher (length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000). Furniture goes by road only.

Worked example: three rooms from Al Naeem to Al Faisaliyah

A young family on the fourth floor, with a lift, in Al Naeem: master bedroom, children’s room, majlis, small kitchen, fridge, washer, two ACs and about 40 boxes. A private closed dyna, four movers and a carpenter in Jeddah, three movers in Najran. Day one: packing and loading until mid-afternoon, then Taif and on to Bisha for the night. Day two: Bisha to Khamis Mushait and Najran, arrival in the afternoon, unloading and bedrooms rebuilt. Day three: kitchen, ACs and TV. From SAR 1,850, with ACs and kitchen added after inspection.

Preparation, mistakes and steps

  • Book the Jeddah lift and tell the guard where the truck will park; travel before or with the truck so you are in Najran when it arrives.
  • Have keys, power and water ready; dry the fridge and washer a full day before loading.
  • Carry gold, cash, documents and medicines yourself; no gas cylinders or fuel in the truck.
  • Avoid drivers who want to do the whole road in one day, mattress bags left open at the bottom, shared loads when your date is tight, and unmeasured doors in older Najran homes.

Our steps: photos and both addresses through the quote page, a plan for the vehicle, the two days and the overnight stop with price and date, packing and loading in Jeddah, an update from the overnight stop and before arrival, then unloading and reassembly with a joint check.

Frequently asked questions

How many days does moving from Jeddah to Najran take?

Usually three: one for loading, two on the road with an overnight stop in Bisha or Khamis Mushait, then unloading and assembly.

Why not drive it in one day?

900 km in one stretch exhausts the driver, and fatigue causes accidents and damage, so we split the trip or send two drivers for large loads.

What does a three-bedroom flat cost?

From SAR 1,850 including dismantling, packing, loading and reassembly; ACs and kitchen are added after inspection.

Are shared loads available to Najran?

Yes, and they are common on this route because they lower the cost, though they may wait a day or two for the truck to fill.

How do you protect furniture from dust?

Sofa covers are taped shut on all sides, mattress bags sealed at both ends, clothes bagged inside boxes, and only closed trucks are used.

Where does the truck stop overnight?

Usually in a lit, guarded truck park in Bisha or Khamis Mushait, with every strap re-tightened before setting off.

Do you reach Habuna, Yadamah and Badr Al Janub?

Yes, and Thar and Khubash; extra distance is in the quote. Sharurah is quoted separately.

Can urgent items arrive before the furniture?

Yes, a few boxes can go as domestic air cargo from Jeddah to Najran Airport in one to two days.

Is insurance worth it on this trip?

We recommend it for valuables given the distance; it is available on request and agreed before loading.

What if it is windy and dusty when the truck arrives?

We wait for the wind to drop before opening the box and unload in the morning or later afternoon in summer.

Do you move from Najran to Jeddah too?

Yes, from Najran, Habuna and Badr Al Janub to Jeddah with the same plan.
