Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Qatif | Delivery to Saihat, Tarout & Safwa, Even Narrow Lanes

Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Qatif | Delivery to Saihat, Tarout & Safwa, Even Narrow Lanes

Qatif is less a single city than a cluster of neighbouring towns: Saihat to the south, Tarout Island to the east, Safwa to the north, and Al Qudaih, Al Awamiyah, Anak, Al Jish, Umm Al Hamam and others in between. So the first thing we ask anyone booking furniture moving from Jeddah to Qatif is: which town, and which street? At Muasasat Al Saif we dismantle and pack in Jeddah, drive a closed truck about 1,380 to 1,430 km via Riyadh and Dammam, and deliver to your door in Qatif, even in a lane the big truck cannot enter, then reassemble everything. A room starts from SAR 1,400, a two- to three-bedroom flat from SAR 2,300 and a villa from SAR 6,500. Get your price from the quote request page.

🌴 Jeddah to the Qatif oasis

  • Two addresses? We can split the load between two homes in Qatif on the same trip.

Furniture moving from Jeddah to Qatif: the short answer

The road runs through Makkah, Riyadh and Dammam, and from Dammam to Qatif is another 25 to 40 km depending on the town. The truck needs 15 to 17 hours of driving with an overnight rest, so loading is on day one and delivery on the evening of day two or, more often, the morning of day three, since we prefer to unload in tight lanes in daylight. Prices start from SAR 1,400 for a small load, SAR 2,300 for two to three bedrooms, SAR 3,500 for four to five and SAR 6,500 for a villa.

Qatif’s towns and districts: where we deliver and how

Knowing the place saves you time and money, because a wide modern district and an old lane are very different jobs:

Area Streets Usual delivery
Saihat Wide modern districts and older ones near the centre Truck to the door in new areas, dyna in older ones
Qatif town and the old castle area Narrow inner streets, closely built Small dyna or pickup from the main road
Tarout Island: Darin, Sanabis, Al Rabiyah, Al Zour Reached by bridges; tight lanes in the old villages Truck route planned ahead, dyna for lanes
Safwa New plans and older quarters Depends on the street, often to the door
Al Awamiyah, Al Qudaih, Al Jish, Umm Al Hamam, Anak Family homes among farms and palms, varied access roads We check entrance and street width beforehand

The dyna that carries furniture from the truck to the house is part of the plan, not a surprise on delivery day. Send us a map pin and, if possible, a photo of the street.

The road from Jeddah to Qatif

The truck leaves Jeddah on the Makkah road, takes the bypass onto the Riyadh expressway and passes As Sayl Al Kabir, Al Muwayh, Dhalim, Al Quway’iyah and Al Muzahmiyah into Riyadh, usually stopping overnight on that stretch or on the edge of the capital. Next day it takes the Riyadh–Dammam expressway across the Dahna sands and near Abqaiq, then heads north from greater Dammam on the Dammam–Qatif road to your town. City approaches have routine checkpoints; the driver carries the truck papers, contents list and receiver’s name.

Timeline

Day 1: the crew is at your Jeddah home in the morning; dismantling and packing, then loading and strapping until mid-afternoon, and departure in the afternoon or evening. Night: several hours of driving, then a sleep stop. Day 2: on through Riyadh to the Eastern Province. If the truck reaches Qatif after sunset, we hold the unloading until morning, because working a narrow lane at night is slower and disturbs the neighbours. Day 3: transfer to the dyna if needed, unloading and reassembly. We call before arrival to confirm who will receive and where the truck can park.

Packing for distance and humidity

Qatif is a coastal oasis between palms and sea, humid for much of the year, and the load reaches it after a long hot desert drive. Mattresses and cushions go into sealed bags, since humidity gets into foam quickly. Fabric sofas and curtains are fully wrapped in plastic, then padded with blankets. Wood gets bubble wrap, a thick blanket and corner guards. Appliances must be completely dry before wrapping, so the fridge is unplugged and dried a day ahead. Dishes and glass are wrapped one by one in divided boxes, rugs are rolled, tied and sleeved, and screws go into numbered bags with their pieces. Inside the truck, heavy items sit on the floor at the front, panels stand with dividers, heavy boxes go under light ones and every row is strapped. For a two-address load, the first drop goes at the back of the box.

Loading and truck type

Closed is the rule. A closed box keeps out sun, Dahna sand and dust, and protects from humidity and rain on arrival; a tarp-covered open truck is not suitable for household furniture on a 16-hour trip. Full or shared: a full truck is yours alone and arrives as agreed; a shared load suits a room or a few items, for example a student heading home to Qatif after studying in Jeddah, and costs less, but departure depends on the truck filling. Two addresses: families returning to Qatif often send part of their furniture to the parents’ house in, say, Safwa and the rest to a new flat in Saihat. We plan both drops into one trip and include them in the quote from the start.

Dismantling in Jeddah, reassembly in Qatif

Rooms, panels and screws are numbered and wardrobes photographed as they come apart, so the Eastern Province crew rebuilds without delay. Family homes in Qatif are often two storeys with a narrow internal staircase, so we ask about stair width before loading; sometimes it is better to lift a big wardrobe to the upper floor by hoist from outside. Kitchens are dismantled and refitted from SAR 370, using the new kitchen’s measurements taken in advance.

Pickup districts in Jeddah

We collect from north Jeddah (Obhur Al Shamaliyah, Al Shati, Al Muhammadiyah, Al Naeem), the centre (Al Rawdah, Al Khalidiyah, Al Salamah, Al Safa, Al Marwah), the east (Al Samer, Al Ajwad, Al Harazat, Al Hamdaniyah) and the south and old quarters (Al Aziziyah, Al Sharafiyah, Al Baghdadiyah, Al Hindawiyah, Al Amir Fawaz). In Jeddah’s older areas we sometimes shuttle by dyna from the door to the truck, just as in Qatif’s lanes.

Weather on the trip and on arrival

Najd summers can pass 40°C, so we leave in the evening and keep candles and perfumes out of the load. Wind over the Dahna sands can cut visibility, and the driver slows or stops. Qatif’s summer humidity means wrappings only come off indoors. Winter mornings can bring fog near the coast and farms, so we wait for visibility to improve, and the occasional winter rain is handled with plastic covers.

Sending urgent items by air

The furniture travels by truck, but what you need on arrival can go ahead: children’s clothes, school papers, work tools. We send a few boxes as domestic air cargo from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to King Fahd International Airport, which serves Qatif, in one to two days. It is charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is greater, with volumetric weight being length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000. Three boxes of 40 × 30 × 30 cm each have a volumetric weight of 6 kg; if each actually weighs 8 kg, each is charged at 8, for 24 kg in total.

Insurance and storage

Insurance for the load is available on request, based on the value of what you want covered, and valuable pieces are photographed before loading. If your Qatif home is still being finished or renovated, which is common when returning to a family house, we store the furniture wrapped in a closed, air-conditioned warehouse in the Eastern Province and deliver when it is ready, priced by volume and duration. Gold, cash, documents, daily medicines and gas cylinders never go in the truck.

Worked example: Al Ajwad, Jeddah to Saihat and Safwa

A family who spent the father’s working years in a four-bedroom flat in Al Ajwad decided to return to Qatif. Most of the furniture was going to a new flat in a modern district of Saihat, and one bedroom plus a majlis to the grandfather’s house in an old lane in Safwa. Load: three bedrooms, two majlis sets, a dining table, a wooden kitchen, four split ACs, two fridges, a washer and about 60 boxes. Saihat items went at the front, Safwa items at the back, because the Safwa drop was done early in the morning before the lane got busy, after which the truck came back south to Saihat. The truck could not enter the Safwa lane, so the bedroom and majlis were transferred to a dyna on the main road. Six workers and a carpenter in Jeddah; five workers, a carpenter and an AC technician in Qatif. Loading finished at 5 pm, the truck arrived on the night of day two, and both addresses were delivered and assembled on day three. Price from SAR 3,500 for four to five bedrooms, plus AC installation from SAR 115 per unit and kitchen work from SAR 370; the second address and dyna were priced in the original quote.

Checklist and common mistakes

  • Send the Qatif map pin and a photo of the street and entrance.
  • For two addresses, divide the items and label each piece with its destination.
  • Check the width of the internal stairs in the new house.
  • Unplug the fridge 24 hours ahead; keep documents, gold and medicines with you.
  • Book a week ahead, two at month-end and holidays.

Common mistakes: giving only the town name so a big truck turns up at a lane it cannot enter, mentioning the second address on delivery day, leaving mattresses unbagged in Qatif’s humidity, unloading in a narrow lane at night, and accepting a quote that does not mention assembly in Qatif.

How it works, and the reverse direction

Send photos and both locations, receive a price that includes the truck, any dyna and the crew, then we dismantle, pack and load in Jeddah, drive via Riyadh and Dammam, transfer if needed, and unload and reassemble. We also move from Saihat, Tarout, Safwa and the rest of Qatif back to Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah, and from Jeddah to Riyadh, Dammam, Khobar, Jubail and beyond. Request any route on the request a quote page.

Frequently asked questions

How far is Qatif from Jeddah?

About 1,380 to 1,430 km via Riyadh and Dammam depending on the town, or 15 to 17 hours of driving.

Can the truck reach Qatif's old lanes?

If the street is narrow, the truck parks on the main road and a small dyna carries the furniture to the door, planned in advance.

Do you deliver to Tarout Island and Darin?

Yes. The truck crosses by the bridges on a pre-planned route, with a dyna for the old village lanes.

Can the furniture be split between two houses in Qatif?

Yes, we plan two drops on the same trip and include them in the quote from the start.

Why are Qatif deliveries usually in the morning?

Unloading in narrow lanes at night is slower and disturbs neighbours, so if the truck arrives after sunset we unload next morning.

What does a four-bedroom move cost?

From SAR 3,500 for four to five bedrooms, rising with volume, dyna use and any second address.

How do you protect mattresses from Qatif's humidity?

In sealed bags, with wrappings removed only once inside the house.

The new house has narrow stairs. What about a big wardrobe?

We measure ahead and may hoist it from outside; a hoist in the Eastern Province starts from SAR 185.

Can children's clothes go ahead by air?

Yes, a few boxes from Jeddah to King Fahd International Airport, which serves Qatif, in one to two days.

The family house is being renovated. What about the furniture?

We store it wrapped in a closed, air-conditioned warehouse in the Eastern Province until the house is ready.

I'm a student going home with one room of things. Is that worth it?

Yes, a room starts from SAR 1,400 and can go on a shared truck for less.

Do you move from Qatif to Jeddah?

Yes, from Saihat, Tarout, Safwa and the rest of Qatif to Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah.
