Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Tabuk | Long-Haul Packing & Closed Trucks via the Coast or Madinah
At Al Saif we do furniture moving from Jeddah to Tabuk for people whose job, studies or family have taken them north. We dismantle your furniture in Jeddah, pack it for a long haul, load it into a closed truck for a journey of about 1,000 km, then unload and reassemble it in your new Tabuk neighbourhood. Driving takes around 11 to 13 hours with rest stops, and the whole job, from dismantling to assembly, usually runs two to three days. A room or small load starts from SAR 1,400 and a 2–3 bedroom apartment from SAR 2,300; volume, floors and distance raise the price. Start by sending photos through our quote request page.

Furniture moving from Jeddah to Tabuk: why this route needs its own plan
It is not just a longer drive. You are taking furniture that has lived for years in Jeddah’s damp air to a dry city with cold winter nights, and on the way the truck runs a long coastal stretch followed by a climb inland. Wood that has absorbed moisture can shrink slightly in dry air, tight joints can crack, and weak cardboard softens in the heat and turns brittle in the cold. So we pack for Tabuk differently from the way we pack for Makkah or Taif.
The second difference is time. We do not ask one driver to cover a thousand kilometres with a heavy load and no proper rest, so either a second driver comes along or the trip is split with a short overnight stop. That is why the delivery time we give you is realistic rather than optimistic.
Coast road or Madinah road?
The coast road: north from Jeddah to Rabigh and Yanbu, then along the Red Sea to Umluj, Al Wajh and Duba, and from Duba inland to Tabuk as the land rises into higher ground. We take this route on most trips: the road is steady, fuel stops are frequent, and Al Wajh and Umluj are good places to stop overnight.
The Madinah road: to Madinah, then north through Khaybar and Tayma to Tabuk. We use it when there is a pickup or drop-off in Madinah or Tayma, or when coastal winds are strong. The two distances are similar; the difference is the character of the road, not the price. Both routes have routine security checkpoints between regions, which the driver clears with the truck papers and our inventory.

Distances from Jeddah along the coast
| Stop | Approx. distance from Jeddah | Approx. truck driving time |
|---|---|---|
| Rabigh | about 150 km | 1.5–2 hours |
| Yanbu | about 330 km | 3.5–4.5 hours |
| Umluj | about 480 km | 5.5–6.5 hours |
| Al Wajh | about 640 km | 7–8 hours |
| Duba | about 820 km | 9–10.5 hours |
| Tabuk | about 1,000 km | 11–13 hours |
| Tayma (from Tabuk) | about 265 km more | 3–3.5 hours |
Times exclude the overnight stop. If your destination is Duba or Al Wajh itself, we price on the actual distance.
Prices for furniture moving from Jeddah to Tabuk
| Home size | Price | Typical vehicle |
|---|---|---|
| Room or small load | from SAR 1,400 | space in a closed truck or large dyna |
| 2–3 bedroom apartment | from SAR 2,300 | medium closed truck |
| 4–5 bedroom home | from SAR 3,500 | large closed truck |
| Villa | from SAR 6,500 | large truck, sometimes a second vehicle |
The base price covers dismantling, packing, loading, transport, unloading and assembly of bedrooms and standard furniture. Added only when needed: fitted kitchen from SAR 370, winch from SAR 280 in Jeddah and from SAR 185 in Tabuk, AC removal in Jeddah from SAR 140 per unit and refitting in Tabuk from SAR 115 per unit. The final price follows a free inspection or your photos. Costs rise with more bedrooms and sitting rooms, upper floors without a lift, heavy items such as safes or gym equipment, a dedicated truck on a fixed date, or an extra drop on the way.
Packing for distance and a change of climate
Wardrobes and bedroom sets are always taken apart; an assembled carcass shaken for hours loosens at the joints. Panels are wrapped in blankets and then plastic, with cardboard corner guards. We never stretch plastic directly onto wood for hours in the heat; a cloth layer goes in between so moisture is not trapped against the surface.

Glass and crockery go into double-wall boxes, each piece wrapped and gaps filled. Mattresses get sealed dust covers and travel on their sides. Fridges always stay upright, washer drums are locked, TVs ride in dedicated cartons, and mirrors and paintings go in flat reinforced cases with nothing stacked on them. Every box is numbered and labelled with the room it is going to in Tabuk. Once you arrive, especially in winter, leave sensitive wooden pieces for a couple of days before the final tightening so the wood settles to the room temperature.
Securing the load for climbs and bends
The stretch between Duba and Tabuk has climbs and curves, and a load that sits still on flat road can move there. Heavy items go first against the front wall, weight is balanced left and right, each row has its own straps, and boards separate appliances from wood. At the overnight stop the driver rechecks every strap.

A realistic timeline
- Day 1, Jeddah: dismantle, pack, number, and finish loading by mid-afternoon.
- Evening of day 1: the truck sets off and stops overnight in Al Wajh or Umluj.
- Day 2: on to Duba and Tabuk, usually arriving after midday.
- Day 2 or 3: unloading and assembly, depending on arrival time and home size.
A small flat can be done in two days; a villa needs three. We message you on departure, at the overnight stop and a few hours before arrival.
Full or shared load, closed or open truck
A full load suits anyone moving a complete home on a fixed date. A student heading to the University of Tabuk with a bed, desk and wardrobe, or an employee sending one bedroom and a small majlis, saves money with a shared load if the delivery date can flex. For a thousand kilometres we do not recommend an open truck for furniture at all: coastal sun and sand and cold nights all take their toll on sofas and wood.
Pickup in Jeddah, delivery in Tabuk
We collect from all over Jeddah, including Al Zahra, Al Salamah, Al Khalidiyah, Al Nahdah, Al Basateen, Al Murjan, Obhur, Al Yaqout, Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Samer, Al Ajwad, Al Jamiah, Al Bawadi, Al Aziziyah and Al Ruwais. In Tabuk we deliver to Al Muruj, Al Wurud, Al Rayyan, Al Sulaymaniyah, Al Faisaliyah, Al Masif, Al Nahdah, Al Rabiyah and Al Manshiyah, and to nearby towns such as Duba, Tayma, Al Wajh and Umluj. Newer Tabuk districts often have villas with wide entrances where the truck can park at the door; older streets may need a dyna shuttle, which we check while quoting.
Dismantling, assembly, insurance and storage
Our carpenters dismantle bedrooms, wardrobes, dining tables and children’s bunk beds in Jeddah, keeping fittings in numbered bags attached to each piece. In Tabuk the crew carries everything to its room, rebuilds beds and wardrobes, and rehangs curtains and TVs on request. A fitted kitchen needs the new wall measured, so send the dimensions if you can. Insurance for valuable pieces is available on request as a separate line. Storage helps if you arrive before your home is ready: furniture stays wrapped and numbered until you call for it, priced by volume and duration.
Weather on the way to Tabuk
Summer heat on the coast means early-morning loading and keeping sensitive appliances away from the front of the box. Some days bring sandy crosswinds between Al Wajh and Duba, and the driver slows down. Tabuk winter nights are cold and snow can fall on some high ground in the region, so we keep furniture covered while unloading. Winter showers happen too; the closed truck protects the load and we unload under cover if needed.
Sending urgent items by air
If you start work in Tabuk before the truck arrives, there is no need to wait two days for a box of papers or a laptop. We send urgent items as domestic air cargo from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Airport in Tabuk within 1–2 days. The charge is based on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher; volumetric weight = length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000, so a small, well-filled box costs less. Send sizes and weights through the quote page. Furniture still travels by road.
Worked example: a teacher moving from Al Zahra to Al Muruj
A teacher posted to Tabuk lives with his family in a first-floor, four-bedroom flat in Al Zahra; the new home is a ground-floor unit in Al Muruj. The load: two large bedrooms, a children’s room with a bunk bed, an Arabic majlis, a living room, a dining table for eight, two fridges, a washer, an oven, three split ACs and around 50 boxes. We send a large closed truck, a carpenter and four packers. Day one is packing and loading until mid-afternoon, then the drive and an overnight stop in Al Wajh; the truck reaches Tabuk around midday on day two, assembly runs into the evening, and the rest is finished on the morning of day three. A 4–5 bedroom home starts from SAR 3,500, plus AC work (removal from SAR 140, refitting from SAR 115 per unit). The children’s school bag and the computer flew ahead and were waiting in Tabuk.
Checklist before loading day
- Tell your Jeddah landlord or caretaker the loading time and where the truck will park.
- Pack two or three days of clothes in a bag that travels with you.
- Carry gold, cash, documents and medicines yourself.
- Keep gas cylinders, fuel and pesticides out of the load.
- Empty and dry the fridge a day early; drain the washer.
- Check that power and water are on in the Tabuk home before delivery.
- Sketch the new rooms for us, or label each box with its room.
Mistakes we see on the Tabuk route
- Moving wardrobes assembled to save time, and finding loose joints on arrival.
- Expecting same-day delivery over a thousand kilometres.
- Choosing a quote that mentions neither packing nor assembly, then paying the difference in Tabuk.
- Leaving the new home’s keys with the landlord until the truck turns up.
- Packing official papers inside the boxes.
How it works
- Send photos and both addresses through the quote page.
- We set truck size, crew and extras in a clear quote.
- We agree the loading day and an approximate arrival time.
- Dismantling, packing, numbering, loading and strapping.
- The drive by the coast or via Madinah, with updates from us.
- Unloading, assembly and a check against the inventory.
Moving from Tabuk back to Jeddah
We also move in the other direction, from Tabuk to Jeddah, and from Tabuk to Madinah, Makkah and Riyadh. If your destination is Duba, the NEOM area or Tayma, mention it so the distance is priced correctly. Request your quote here and attach photos of the rooms.

Frequently asked questions
How many days does a Jeddah to Tabuk move take?
Two to three days: a day to dismantle and load, an overnight stop on the road, then delivery and assembly. Driving alone is 11 to 13 hours.
Does the truck use the coast road or go through Madinah?
Usually the coast via Yanbu, Umluj, Al Wajh and Duba; we go via Madinah, Khaybar and Tayma when there is a stop on that road.
What does a two-bedroom move to Tabuk cost?
A 2–3 bedroom apartment starts from SAR 2,300 and rises with volume, floors and extras.
Will my wood furniture suffer going from humid Jeddah to dry Tabuk?
It can shrink slightly, so we fully dismantle wardrobes, put cloth under the plastic and suggest waiting a couple of days before final tightening.
Where does the truck stop overnight?
Usually Al Wajh or Umluj depending on departure time, and the driver rechecks the straps before continuing.
I am a University of Tabuk student with a few items. What are my options?
A shared load, starting from SAR 1,400 for a small load, with some flexibility on the delivery date.
Do you deliver to Duba, Al Wajh and Tayma?
Yes, priced on the actual distance to the town you are moving to.
How much is a winch in Tabuk?
From SAR 185 in Tabuk and from SAR 280 in Jeddah, added only when needed.
Can urgent items arrive before the truck?
Yes, as domestic air cargo from Jeddah airport to Tabuk airport in 1–2 days, charged on actual or volumetric weight.
Is an open truck suitable for this route?
Not for household furniture; coastal sun and sand and cold nights damage sofas and wood.
Is insurance available?
Yes, for valuable pieces on request, shown as a separate line in the quote.
How do you handle winter delivery in Tabuk?
We keep furniture covered while unloading and work under cover if it rains; please make sure power and water are connected.
