Furniture Moving from Jeddah to Yanbu | Dismantling, Packing & Closed Trucks Along the Coast Road
At Al Saif we handle furniture moving from Jeddah to Yanbu from start to finish: we dismantle and pack your furniture in any Jeddah district, load it into a closed truck, drive roughly 330 km up the Red Sea coast, and reassemble everything in Yanbu Al Bahr, Yanbu Industrial City or Yanbu Al Nakhl. The drive itself takes about 3.5 to 4.5 hours, so a small apartment can often be loaded in the morning and unloaded the same evening. A room or small load starts from SAR 930 and a 2–3 bedroom apartment from SAR 1,400; the price rises with volume, floor and distance. Send photos of your rooms through our quote request page and we will come back with a price and a date.

Furniture moving from Jeddah to Yanbu: the quick answer
Most people who call us about this route are either starting a job in Yanbu Industrial City or moving back to family in Yanbu Al Bahr or Yanbu Al Nakhl after years in Jeddah. They want to know three things: how much, how long, and whether the furniture will arrive the way it left. Because the distance is short compared with the northern routes, the plan is different from a move to Tabuk or Al Jouf. There is no overnight stop on the road, and in many cases we can load in Jeddah before noon and unload in Yanbu by late afternoon.
Short does not mean careless, though. The coast road has humid stretches, crosswinds that carry sand on some days, and hours of steady highway speed. Anything that is not strapped will shift. We treat it as a proper intercity move, not a trip across Jeddah.
The road north and what we pass
The truck leaves north Jeddah on the Jeddah–Yanbu expressway, running parallel to the Red Sea. Thuwal comes up after about 90–100 km, then Rabigh at around 150 km, which is where our drivers usually stop for fuel, prayer and a check of the straps. After Rabigh the road opens up past Al Rayes until you reach Yanbu Industrial City, just before Yanbu Al Bahr. There are routine security checkpoints between regions; the driver carries the truck papers and we carry the inventory list.
Going through Madinah and then down to Yanbu only makes sense if you have a second pickup in Madinah. Otherwise it adds hundreds of kilometres for nothing. Yanbu Al Nakhl is reached from Yanbu Al Bahr, heading inland.

The final figure follows a free inspection or the photos you send.
What moves the price on this route: the number of bedrooms and sitting rooms, stairs versus lift, whether the kitchen comes with you, which part of Yanbu you are going to, and whether you take a dedicated truck or share one.
One day or two?
This is where Yanbu differs from the long northern routes. A two-bedroom flat in Al Safa, for example: the crew arrives at 7 am, finishes dismantling, packing and loading by midday, the truck leaves, and we are unloading in Yanbu in the afternoon. Bedrooms go back together that evening or the next morning, whichever you prefer. A villa is split over two days: pack and load on day one, keep the truck locked overnight (or drive at night when the daytime heat is extreme), then unload and assemble on day two.
Packing for the coast and securing the load
Jeddah and Yanbu share similar humidity, which is good news for wooden furniture: it does not move from damp air into dry air and crack. The same humidity softens cardboard in a hot truck, so we use double-wall boxes for kitchenware, seal mattresses in plastic covers, and bag electrical appliances against condensation.

Wardrobes are taken fully apart, doors and drawers wrapped separately, and screws kept in numbered bags taped to the piece. Mirrors get corner guards and travel upright. Sofas get a fabric cover under the plastic so road sand does not cling to them. Fridges and washers are emptied and dried the day before.
Inside the truck, heavy items such as the fridge, washer and wardrobe panels go against the front wall first, then sofas, then numbered boxes, with only light items placed last, above the rest. Each row is strapped to the tie-down rings and gaps are filled with blankets so nothing slides under braking.

Dedicated truck, shared load, closed or open
For a full home, a dedicated truck is simpler: it leaves when you want and makes no other stops. For a few items, say a student’s room or a bedroom set and a fridge, sharing a truck heading to Yanbu cuts the cost if you can accept a day or two of flexibility. Each customer’s goods are separated and listed. For household furniture we use closed trucks almost every time; an open, tarpaulin-covered truck is only for garden items or materials that sun and sand will not harm.
Pickup areas in Jeddah, delivery areas in Yanbu
We collect across Jeddah: Obhur North and South, Al Shati, Al Mohammadiyah, Al Naeem and Al Hamdaniyah in the north; Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Faisaliyah, Al Rawdah and Al Rehab in the centre; Al Naseem, Al Rabwah, Al Harazat, Al Ajwad and Al Sanabel in the east and south; and the older districts such as Al Baghdadiyah, Al Kandarah and Al Sharafiyah, where we use a small dyna to shuttle furniture to the big truck when the street is narrow.
In Yanbu we deliver to Yanbu Al Bahr districts including Al Bandar, Al Sawari, Al Jabriyah, Al Nahdah, Al Shorouq, Al Salam, Al Falah, Al Muruj, Al Nakheel and Mushrifah; to Yanbu Industrial City under the Royal Commission; and to Yanbu Al Nakhl and the nearby villages. Some company housing compounds require an entry permit for the truck, so ask your employer for it in advance and tell us which gate to use.
Assembly, insurance and storage
The carpenter who takes your bedroom apart in Jeddah is the one who puts it back together in Yanbu. Panels are numbered to match the inventory, and unusual wardrobes are photographed before dismantling. On arrival we carry each piece to the room you choose and can hang curtains and mount TVs if you ask ahead. Insurance for valuable pieces is available on request as a separate line in the quote. If your job starts before your keys arrive, we store the wrapped furniture and deliver it when the home is ready, priced by volume and duration.
Weather on the coast road
Summer heat on the open stretch after Rabigh is the main issue, so we leave early in the morning or after the afternoon heat, and keep heat-sensitive items away from the front of the box. On windy days sand blows across the road; the driver slows down and stops if visibility drops. Rain is uncommon on this coast, but when it comes, a closed truck is one more reason not to regret the choice.
Sending urgent items by air
Sometimes you need a few things before the furniture arrives: work files, a computer, the children’s school clothes. We send these as domestic air cargo from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to Prince Abdulmohsin bin Abdulaziz Airport in Yanbu, usually within 1–2 days. Air cargo is charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, where volumetric weight = length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000. Send us the box sizes and weights through the quote page. The furniture itself stays on the road, which suits its size and cost far better.
Worked example: Al Naeem to Yanbu Industrial City
A family of four lives in a third-floor, three-bedroom flat in Al Naeem with a lift too small for the wardrobe. The father’s job has moved to Yanbu Industrial City, where they have a second-floor flat. They have a master bedroom, two children’s rooms, a majlis, a dining table, fridge, washer, two TVs, about 35 boxes and two split ACs. We send a medium closed truck, a carpenter and three packers, plus a winch in Jeddah for the wardrobe and sofas (from SAR 280). Packing and loading finish by noon, the truck reaches Yanbu before sunset, and assembly is done the next morning. The apartment starts from SAR 1,400, plus the winch and AC work from SAR 140 per unit. Two boxes of work files flew ahead and arrived a day before the furniture.
Before moving day: checklist
- Book the lift in your Jeddah building and agree with the caretaker where the truck can park.
- Get the compound entry permit in Yanbu if the housing belongs to an employer.
- Empty and dry the fridge a day early; drain the washing machine.
- Keep gold, cash, passports, official papers and daily medicines with you.
- Do not put gas cylinders, fuel or flammable cleaners in the truck.
- Have one clean, empty room ready in Yanbu so assembly can start straight away.
Common mistakes
- Treating it as a short errand and hiring an open pickup for a whole home.
- Forgetting the compound permit and leaving the truck waiting at the gate.
- Mentioning the fitted kitchen only on the day.
- Taking the lowest quote without checking whether dismantling and assembly are included.
- Packing keys and medicines in the boxes.
How it works
- Send room photos, your Jeddah address and your Yanbu destination.
- Receive an itemised quote: transport, winch if needed, kitchen and ACs.
- Agree the date and arrival time; we remind you about the lift and permit.
- The crew dismantles, packs, numbers, loads and straps everything.
- The truck drives up the coast while we keep you updated.
- We unload, assemble and check every piece against the list with you.
Moving back from Yanbu
We run the same service in the opposite direction, from Yanbu to Jeddah, and from Yanbu to Madinah, Makkah and other Saudi cities. Tell us your home size and your exact destination in Yanbu through the quote request page.
