Furniture Moving in Haroob | Mountain Village Moves with Support Pickups & Closed Trucks

Muasasat Al Saif provides furniture moving in Haroob across the governorate’s mountain villages and valleys — Munjid, Wadi Razan, Al Dhi’ah, Hijn, Al Awdiyah, Jabal Al Juwain and Haroob town itself. We dismantle and wrap your furniture, get it from your door to the truck even when the last stretch is a stone stair or a slope no dyna can climb, then move and reassemble it at the new home. A room starts from SAR 230, a two- or three-room home from SAR 420, and a large house or villa from SAR 840. Photograph the road to your house along with the rooms and send them through our quote request page.

⛰️ Before we drive up to you

  • Distance: Haroob sits roughly 100 km north-east of Jazan city, in the Sarawat highlands.
  • Roads: Sabya–Haroob, Al Kadmi–Haroob, Al Haqw–Haroob–Al Uzayyin and Haroob–Al Sahalil.
  • The question that matters: where can the truck park, and how far do the crew carry from your door to it?
  • Starting prices: room SAR 230, two rooms SAR 420, three rooms SAR 560, villa SAR 840, wanet SAR 140, winch SAR 185.

Furniture moving in Haroob starts with the road

In a city we ask about the floor and the lift. In Haroob the first question is different: how close can a vehicle get? Many homes are built on slopes between farming terraces, and some are reached only by a narrow lane or a hairpin that a long dyna cannot turn. So we ask for a photo of the route from the last paved point to your door, plus the spot where a truck could park.

Those photos decide the method. If the dyna reaches the door, it is a normal move. If not, we work in two stages: a wanet or a small dabab shuttles pieces from the house to the dyna waiting on the main road, or the crew carry items by hand over a short distance. That changes crew size and time, which is why it goes into the quote before the day, not after.

Two-stage moves in mountain villages

A two-stage move is not a problem when it is planned. Our routine:

  1. The closed dyna parks on level, safe ground on the road, away from bends.
  2. Everything is fully wrapped inside the house, because each piece will be loaded and unloaded twice.
  3. The wanet shuttles loads, heaviest first, with a mover riding each run.
  4. Two men arrange and strap the load in the dyna while the others keep carrying from the house.
  5. At the other end the process reverses if the new home has similar access.

An extra wanet run starts from SAR 140, and two or three runs usually cover an average home. For very short paths, hand-carrying is quicker than loading and unloading a pickup.

What sets the cost of a mountain move

  • The last hundred metres: whether the truck can pull up at your door or far from it is the single biggest factor in Haroob.
  • Slopes and steps: a long outdoor stone stair needs more hands or more time.
  • Village to village: Munjid to Wadi Razan, or Al Dhi’ah to Haroob town, takes far longer on mountain roads than the same distance on the plain.
  • Weight: heavy wooden majlis seating and old timber chests need care on a slope.
  • Kitchen and AC: priced separately because they need a technician.
  • Weather: heavy rain or thick fog can push the start back by hours.

Centres and villages we serve

The governorate has six administrative centres and dozens of villages and hamlets. We plan by centre because access differs so much:

Centre or area Character How we plan
Haroob town Newer and traditional houses, shops around the main road and market The dyna usually reaches; we avoid market rush hours
Munjid Highland villages Parking checked from photos; a support wanet may be needed
Wadi Razan Homes and farms along the valley We avoid working right after rain when water runs across low roads
Al Dhi’ah and Hijn Scattered mountain villages Lighter loads because of the bends
Al Awdiyah Homes near watercourses Timing kept clear of flash-flood risk
Jabal Al Juwain Hillside villages Often a short hand-carry or a wanet

We also move households down to Sabya, Jazan and Abu Arish and to neighbouring mountain governorates, priced by distance.

Choosing a vehicle for a mountain road

Here the vehicle is matched to the road as much as to the furniture. A dabab suits one or two items and reaches homes nothing else can. The wanet is the workhorse of the mountains — appliances, medium loads, and shuttle runs for the dyna. A medium dyna fits most homes when the road allows it. A long dyna or truck is used for moves out of the governorate and waits on the main road.

Heavy items go at the front and on the floor, with every row strapped. On mountain roads a load shifts at every bend, so we never fill the box to the roof with loose pieces — an extra run is better than a stacked load that slides.

Packing that survives being carried twice

A piece that goes from house to wanet, wanet to dyna, and dyna to the new home rubs and knocks three times, so our packing in Haroob is heavier than usual: moving blankets tied around sofas and seating with plastic over them against dust and drizzle; rigid corner guards on wardrobes and tables, because stone steps are hard on edges; double bubble wrap on screens and glass; small cartons for kitchenware so they are easy to carry downhill; and a numbered list of pieces that we check at every stage.

Dismantling and assembly in mountain homes

Doors in older village houses are narrower than in modern flats, and some passages are low. A large wardrobe only comes out fully dismantled; a king-size bed comes apart down to its slats. The carpenter numbers parts, bags the screws on each piece, and photographs older wardrobes before taking them apart so reassembly is straightforward.

Rural kitchens are often separate cabinets or a made-to-measure aluminium kitchen fixed to the wall. Wall units come down first, water and gas are disconnected, and the new wall is measured before the move. Kitchen dismantling and installation starts from SAR 370.

At the new house, the bedroom goes up first, then the kitchen, then the rest. If the new home is further up the mountain, we check doorways before assembling, since some wardrobes can only be built inside the room itself.

ACs and appliances

Haroob is cooler than the coast, but homes in the lower valleys still need AC in summer. Removing and refitting a unit starts from SAR 110. Fridges always travel upright and rest for a few hours before being switched on.

When a winch makes sense here

Houses in Haroob are low, so a winch is not the usual answer. It helps in two cases: a two-storey house with a narrow internal stair that large pieces cannot pass, or a house built into a slope where the upper floor is closer to the road than the ground floor. It starts from SAR 185 and needs level ground to stand on, which we check from photos.

Included and added

Included: crew, the main vehicle, bedroom dismantling and assembly, standard wrapping, placing furniture, and removing packing waste. Added when needed: extra wanet runs between house and dyna, winch, kitchen, AC, VIP packing, storage and cleaning. Each line appears separately on the quote — and if your photos show the dyna can reach the door, the wanet run comes off.

Worked example: a Munjid village to Haroob town

A government employee and his family live in a two-room house with a majlis in a village on the Munjid heights; the final lane is too narrow for a dyna. They are moving to a new house close to the main road in Haroob town.

  • Vehicles: a closed dyna on the main road, a wanet linking it to the house.
  • Crew: supervisor, carpenter, three movers and an AC technician for one unit.
  • Timing: start shortly after dawn; three wanet runs done by mid-morning; assembly finished before mid-afternoon.
  • Price: two rooms from 420 + wanet run from 140 + one AC from 110 = from SAR 670.

Moving a made-to-measure aluminium kitchen would add from SAR 370; if the dyna can reach the house, the wanet run is dropped.

Steps of the job

  1. You send photos of rooms, the route and the parking spot.
  2. We decide on the vehicle and any support wanet and send an itemised price.
  3. The crew arrives and the supervisor walks the route from house to truck.
  4. Dismantling, wrapping and labelling indoors.
  5. Carrying to the truck, directly or in two stages.
  6. Steady driving with a strapped load.
  7. Unloading, assembly, appliances back on.
  8. Checking the list with you, piece by piece.

Preparation checklist

  • Photograph the route from the last paved point to your door.
  • Ask neighbours to keep the narrow lane free of parked cars.
  • Empty wardrobes and drawers; bag the clothes.
  • Switch off the fridge and freezer the night before.
  • Decide what you are leaving or donating before we arrive.
  • Make sure the new house is open and has power.

What should not go in the truck

Gold, cash and jewellery; official papers and land or farm deeds; medicines, especially refrigerated ones; gas cylinders unless sealed and kept apart from furniture; fuel, farm pesticides and anything flammable.

Weather and seasons in the mountains

Rain and fog, not heat, are the main challenge in Haroob. After rain some dirt roads turn slippery and valleys may carry water, so we may move the appointment by hours or a day — something we agree with you up front. Summer in the highlands is mild, though midday in the low valleys is hot. Sunday is the weekly market day in Haroob, so roads around the market are busier and we plan around it. Month-end and the run-up to school are busy, and in Ramadan we work in the mornings.

A very low quote? Ask about the road

In the mountains, an unusually low quote often means nobody looked at the road. The crew arrives, the dyna cannot get through, and either the price goes up or the furniture is left by the roadside. Before accepting any offer, make sure whoever priced it saw photos of the route, and that the quote states crew size, vehicle, dismantling, wrapping and liability for breakage. To genuinely lower the cost, get rid of furniture you no longer need and pack small boxes yourself.

Storage while the new house is finished

Some families build a new house in the village and must clear the old one first. We offer short-term storage on request — pieces wrapped, numbered and listed, priced by volume and duration — and bring everything back and assemble it once the house is ready.

Cleaning after the move

Cleaning the old house before hand-over, or the new one before the furniture arrives, is available as a separate add-on.

Mistakes we see in Haroob

  • Booking a large dyna without checking the road can take it.
  • Not mentioning an outdoor stone stair, so too few movers turn up.
  • Choosing an afternoon slot in the rainy season.
  • Loose appliances in an open truck on a mountain road.
  • Trying to move a large wardrobe without dismantling it, so it jams in the old doorway.

Moving from Haroob to other cities

We move from Haroob to Jazan, Sabya, Abu Arish and the rest of the region, and further to Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jeddah and Riyadh. These moves are priced separately by distance and volume, in a closed dyna or truck with the load tied down for the descent from the mountains. Send your photos through the quote request page for an itemised price for your furniture moving in Haroob.
